I called and was able to get in the next day for a mani-pedi. I had to wait about 15-20 minutes after my appointment and then when they got my feet in the water, I had to wait another 15 minutes before anyone could get to me. I think I heard they were rather backed up. Oh well. The lady who did do my nails did a beautiful job! She had no problem with the nail art I wanted and I was very happy! She was very condescending toward me and my sister and Making snide comments. As a business owner, she needs to learn how to conduct herself in a professional manner. Worst place I have EVER gotten my nails done...I was in town on business. Went here for a full set and shellac. Told her active length she made them too long. When I got back to MI I had to take them off because she put too much acrylic on them. They are too thick with about an inch of acrylic. Do not go here. There is dust and polish everywhere and I literally watched my tech reuse old clippers and brushes. On top of that, I asked her if she could trim one of my nails shorter and her demeanor went all downhill from there. She AGGRESSIVELY cut my cuticles and the skin around my nails, making several of my fingers bleed. She put the wrong color on me (there's a difference between hot pink and a dusty rose color). There's bubbles, old polish, bad cuticle lines, and to top it off, my fingers are sore. Avoid this place. Save your money and your fingers. read more

This place has changed over the years the once who commented over who knows how many years ago, should come back and check the place out again, they put my moms nails through heaven and it was just ever clean. Foxy came very highly rated by friends. My experience wasn't the best. My dip nail started chipping after 2 weeks. I have had dip nail done for awhile now and they always last at least 4 weeks without chipping. The tech talked on her phone the entire time I was there. My mom and I went in for a pedi, and last minute decided on a mani too. We sat at the same time hoping to have everything done at the same time. Well I was pretty much done with my pedi before they even started on her. Then I felt like the lady rushed through my mani because she had someone waiting for a pedi. I didn't get a good finish on my polish, there were air bubbles in the polish, and almost 5 hrs later the polish was still soft and I nicked my nail. She added acetone to the polish halfway through my mani to make it less goopy. If it's still soft over 5 hours later and it's that gooey it's time for a new bottle. I also had to shape a few of my nails when I got home because of some very sharp edges. My moms mani came out fine and a much better quality. Makes me sad because my mom treated me to a day out and it wasn't worth her money. Pedi was nice, I would've liked to soak my feet longer and had her work harder at the dry parts of my feet. read more

This shop was recommended by the Holiday Inn Express Staff in Loves Park IL. My issue has to do with how they advertised the cost of their services. What I selected as a $54.00 ($11.00 extra for no-chp $65.00) service luxury mani-pedi cost me $85.00 plus tip. It started with picking the nail color for my nails, there was no designation on the selection pallet that would indicate I would be charged per nail for the particular color I selected (cat eye). After getting no-chip manicure I specifically asked that my no chip pedicure not include the special nail (cat eye) application. In a nice massage chair I napped and the application was being applied. The staff at the nail shop were nice and professional. I just think they could be more up front with their pricing. I have been here three times and have been disappointed each time. First time for a pedicure; we had appts. but they took other people ahead of us. (our appts. were for noon on a Sunday, and they had just opened!) Just like the previous person stated, the owner sits up front chatting up her regulars, and doesn't have much to say to anyone else. I had to wait quite awhile all three times, and the techs who did my nails often left to work on other customers. The last time I waited so long, my water got cold!!! A friend had recommended this nail salon to me. I called today and when they finally picked up the phone I asked if I needed to make an appointment. The woman told me that they were not busy right now and I didn't need to make an appointment. I showed up at the salon 5 or 10 minutes later and found every pedicure chair was full. I walked in the door and they all just turned around and looked at me. I said that I would like a pedicure. I proceeded to sit down and within the next 15 minutes that I sat there no one said anything to me or moved to help me or even let me know how long it might be so I got up and walked out. I have been gong here since they opened. Crystal has always treated everyone fair. The decor is warm & welcoming. I love getting my pedicures done by them. I have never had any problems. I have even recommended friends and anyone who has ever told me my nails looked nice. Of course, I have always made my appointment. I found that making an appointment moves you quickly and if you do walk in you are given an option of waiting or coming back. Atmosphere is typical of many Asian nail salons, except, this one makes you feel more self-conscious and quite frankly-unwelcome and uninvited. The staff do not treat you as if they appreciate your business and are not thankful for you coming. They always seem irritated that you are there. Maybe the staff would be more appreciative of customers if they didn't feel like slaves...for example if they were paid better, were allowed days off, didn't have to work such long shifts? The wait is always very long...way too long. When a wait for a service is going to be more than half an hour, someone at the salon should always let the customer know the honest amount of time they'll be waiting. It seems like they always try to avoid telling you the honest truth of how long you will have to wait, which is BS. They're always juggling customers between workers...so tacky. I dont think I've ever gone in and been sat with one worker for my services and stayed with that worker until the end. All the workers talk in their native language to each other-which always makes me feel as though they're talking behind my back about me and other customers, dont they get how extremely rude that is?! Apparently not. I just want to tell them..Hey! Speak English! You're being rude and making your customers uncomfortable! Plus, not only do you look ignorant....you're in America, speak the language of our country and show some respect! Also, sometimes the workers get busy talking to each other and dont pay attention to what they're doing with your nails and they can cut you so beware! Or, even if not talking, some are just rough and don't care about being gentle-especially if you get a newbie or the older lady. I guess it's their tip that they dont care about. Moving on...this is definitely not a 'relaxing' salon, it's just a place to go to get your nails done for a cheaper price than at a real salon. So, don't go here if you're expecting a salon experience, you'll certainly be disappointed. A lot of the previous reviewers hit the nail on the head when they talk about Crystal the owner. She is pretty pretentious, it's funny. Half the time she runs around without her shoes on like a hillbilly. Crystal, if you cant stand to wear your 6 inch high heels all day at work- (most women cant) then how about just dont wear those shoes to work!? Do as most smart women do and wear some shoes that are comfortable enough to wear all day instead of setting the example of looking like a hillbilly in your own salon. You wouldn't let your staff take their shoes off would you?..with the exception of grandma of course... so why is it okay for you to do that in front of customers? How tacky! lol She thinks she's the sh*t because she owns the salon and she's married to a white man who happens to be a doctor. Guess what, who cares?! It's funny though because she actually flaunts it. First of all, money isn't everything. Second, it's wonderful and fabulous for you to be a female business owner who contributes good things in this world and treats her staff right, but guess what, from what I hear and see, you don't. You're not that great to your customers and you're even worse to your staff. All of your staff look simply miserable and maybe that's why your salon has such crappy reviews? It's been proven time and time again that unhappy staff will do half-a$$ed work, don't you know that?! If you go to the salon more than once or twice, you'll know all about Crystal and see how sh*tty she and her grandma treat her staff. She definitely looks down upon them and doesn't treat them as equals. Anyway, aside from all this, if you can avoid all the downfalls -go during the right time of day, early morning, so it's not as swamped, and you get a good nail tech who knows what they're doing-and wont cut you, they can potentially do a decent job. They do have a lot of good colors to choose from and a lot of newer techniques. But, I'd definitely recommend finding another place in town. I like LA Nails in LP on Harlem. Better prices. my friend actually goes here regularly so I decided to try it out. They were really nice, but the lady who had done mine constantly hit my skin with the tool she was using. I kept telling her & even after pulling away multiple times because it was so painful, she literally insisted that was the only way to get the color off my nails from before. She also never listened to me after I kept saying the shape was dull (I wanted coffin.) She rushed on my whole fill causing the acrylic to be super lumpy on my nails. She put something on my cuticles that burned probably because my skin was so raw and cut from the tool she was using to take my polish off from before. My color looks really good, but they just look super lumpy and the shape was round and dull I had to file them myself afterwards. I wasn't too upset just wish I got what I paid for. Other than that my sisters nails looked nice and they did a good job on both of our designs. read more

I've had, essentially, each technician who works there and they are all consistently good. The salon is clean and the staff is professional. Will never go back! I had gone to Foxy Nail's in the past for pedicures and loved them! Decided to stop in and get my no chip mani redone, and it was a horrible decision. The lady that did the no chip mani kept pushing the mood polish colors on me and made me sit while she kept bringing me more even after I tried to get up to pick my own color. Finally I choose a mood color that was dark like I wanted. While she was removing my previous no chip color she filed the nails so hard they started to burn and I had to make her stop. After finally painting my nails they weren't even the color she showed me! It was a light gold, the opposite of what I wanted and what I told her I wanted. So annoyed and not wanting to go through the pain of her removing the polish again I sucked it up and decided to pay. At this point she brings me my debit card receipt and tells me she had to charge me extra for the mood color, that I didn't even want in the first place! I was furious and signed my receipt and walked out. 30 minutes later I called to speak with the owner which took me over 2 hours to get a call back. She said to come in and they would repaint my nails for free. Walked in and asked for Crystal who wouldn't even get up to greet me, instead she sat at the pedi chair on the far end and did her own pedicure. The best part, is when they had the same lady who screwed my nails up start taking my polish off until finally the guy behind me jumped in and took over. While he did do a little better of a job, he still left polish on my skin and looks messy. There are so many things wrong with this place I don't how they stay in business. Just sitting getting my nails redone, I watched the older lady that works there take the cheap pedi slippers off a girl and put them back with the new ones! After Crystal finished her own pedi, she didn't even wash the tub out with disinfectant. Or should I comment on Crystal yelling at her son, and hitting him upside his head for playing with a garbage can lid. My list can go on... Overall this place is not sanitary. My mom, sister, and I had been going to Foxy Nails consistently for a year. We were getting ready to go on a vacation to Florida. I got a full set. 2 days later the full set started to turn a blue/green. While in Florida I went to a nail salon. They had stated that they were turning blue/green because the tools that were used while applying them weren't cleaned properly. They took the full set off right away. When returning from vacation my husband and I went into Foxy Nails and explained what had happened. The owner was rude, started yelling, and told us we wouldn't get a refund or gift card.
