Half of that travel was due to my father being a commercial airline pilot and the other came from my continued passions for traveling...........and out of my own pocket. I have packed bags as small as an old school duffel bag from North Face for 3 weeks in Europe.........and it was a SMALL duffel bag. I have also packed a bag so big it was full of mountain climbing, camping, and fly fishing gear for weeks out in Wyoming and had the nick name the "body bag". The funny thing was it could hold not one BUT two bodies (thank god checked bag fees weren't in place then or I'd be broke *grin*). So I plan on jetting around this summer to see family and friends and was tiring of my bulky luggage, so I headed to Mori's in the Asheville Mall. I do enjoy stores that are dedicated to a particular type of product line and Mori is that...........and more. I was fortunate enough to have the Store Manager Marie-Louise greet me and help me through the decision process of picking a well made and fully functional carry on piece of luggage. Now to some you maybe thinking to yourself............."what? It is a carry on...just pick a black one and get on with it............" Well I could have done that, but I don't buy luggage very often and I usually do it out of necessity verses doing it for myself. So Marie-Louise stepped up to the challenge by answering my many questions, showing me many bags and keeping all my requirements in her head to have me come to my decision. She also gave personal recommendations which I also appreciated. Nice, engaging, and very personable she made the experience of purchasing what I would call a higher end carrying on bag that price was heading toward half a grand a great experience. I am excited about using this bag as soon as I can and will have a few business trips in the next 30 days to put it to the test. The brand I purchased was Briggs & Riley and they have what they call "simple as that" life time warranty to fix anything. So, though the bag was priced in what I would consider in the higher range I am comforted that I'll be able to keep it for years to come regardless of how the baggage handlers abuse it. In addition to the purchase I was also considering a laptop to replace the piece of cr*p my company gave me and she showed me a matching laptop case that has a great little feature to have it sit perfectly on top of the bag walking through the airport...........I'll be back there in July to pick that case up comfortable in the fact that Mori's and Marie-Louise will take care of me and my luggage needs.
