Car repair bits, garage things, construction things too. I came SO close to picking up a new ratchet set but came to my senses when I realized that the one I have is actually perfectly fine. Music is a little loud inside, but that could be because they're demoing a discount speaker set. There was also a corded mini shop blower for $20 that caught my eye. To start I feel the need to give you all a little background on myself, I am a 120 pound female and a tool and die maker (not typical I know) and I shop at Workshop tools all the time. I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars at the Asheville location on tools and supplies for my job. On the 27th of August I came into Workshop tools and spent around $50, I was not greeted when I walked in the door but the cashier was fast to greet and help a girl that had come in to buy a dog toy for her dog, he completely ignored me. When the girl had finished buying her dog toy I asked the cashier if he had a few different items and all of which he replied "no I do not have those items", or "I don't know what that is". I proceeded to browse around and find just about ever single item the guy said that the store did not carry, I complete my purchase and I leave the store. Today, August 30th at around 5:45PM, I go back to the store. I had rushed to get to this store to buy some more items ($44.04 worth) and I was very sweaty from my job, I was covered in oil and hydraulic fluid and metal, I had cuts and bruises.... you know the typical look for any ordinary hard working Joe that would shop at a tool store on any given day. I had been in a 400 degree die welding all day.... I stunk. I walk in and ask the different guy at the counter if they have an item, to which he does not hesitate at all to say no. I do not carry a purse and did not grab a basket so I proceed to browse around the store picking up various items big and small and carrying them in my arms. About 6 minutes through my shopping I notice the cashier following me with his eyes, glaring. He then proceeds to play a message over the intercom that says "loss prevention keep a close eye on store section 6"..... I am the ONLY customer in the store. I continue to shop, I find the item he told me they didn't have, and I walk to the counter to make my purchase. While the guy is ringing up my order I mention the way that I was treated last time I came in the store, hoping that maybe he could tell me what I could do about the complaint. Instead he tells me to not come back to the store and at this point I am extremely angry and about to burst into tears so I proceed to ask about the announcement he played over the intercom. I say "what was with that announcement, I'm not even carrying a purse." Pardon my French for what the cashiers response was please for they are his exact words "you look sketchy as fuck, you look like a crack whore, get out of my store". Some fat guy, working as a cashier at the age of 40 something, in an air conditioned building, called me a crack whore because I didn't look up to his standards. For no reason whatsoever, he kicked me out and BANNED me from the store. I work EXTREMELY hard for my money, I am never not hurting and tired, I never get to feel like a pretty lady, I am never not tired and no matter how hard I try it is never good enough for anyone at all. I came in that store tired and depressed and sore and itchy to get things that I needed and I left so upset that I could not drive home from my shaking and my tears. I sat in the parking lot of the outlet mall bawling my eyes out that already burned from sweat because some fat, lazy, judgmental, POS person I didn't know stomped on me for the second time in that store for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than he was ready to go home and have a beer and was tired of "working soooooooo haaaaard". Of course there is no cooperate phone number to call so I sent them an email, if I do not get a phone call from them then I dub this business quite possibly the worst business ever because I was certainly treated the worst I ever have been at any business in my entire life.

When I visited the store today I saw the deal for a lunchbox with four items and since I had three items I asked the manager on duty if I could check out the sizes of them. She acted like it was a major inconvenience to walk five steps to hand me in to look at. She plopped them on the counter and walked away without saying anything. I encountered her again in another area of the store where my wife was looking at socks in the other side of the counter. She seemed frustrated when I told her I was not ready to check out. Then when it came time to check out my wife asked if she could use her LinkedIn for the medical discount as we have at every UA store, including this one. The manager proceeded to step over from another area to tell us no. We had to use ID Me or a badge ID. My wife tries to get hers to pull up and it wouldn't pull up in the store so I politely asked her if something had changed because we had used LinkedIn if my wife didn't have her badge on her before. She could see that my wife's profile was linked to the hospital which requires an email address from the hospital. She was very rude with her response and tone by saying they have never allowed that in this store. She never once smiled, she never greeted anyone, and was just outright rude. I have no problem if a policy requires something, but you do not have to be rude and confrontational, especially if you are in leadership. Ultimately I'll still shop UA including this one, but if that manager is working I'll happily skip the visit.

Even with a 40-50% discount, it still costs more than buying it online or at a regular West Elm store. It's shocking that this is legal and that West Elm allows such a scam. Always use Google search- to take a picture of the furniture and search for the actual price to ensure you're not being scammed. Essentially, they're trying to sell you a damaged item for full price, if not more. Also, if they're doing it, so are the rest of the stores!

You've stopped having actual low prices and are relying on your "Entire Store 40%" off or what ever they daily deal is. At the time these photos were taken, almost everything was 1¢ off of retail prices. The outlet was 40% off, but the regular store was 30% off. I'll greatly pay the extra 10% for a NEW item and one that's not sold "as-is" and "Final Sale". For me, it's simply not worth the drive from Charlotte anymore...
