But when the customer experience is 2.5 years in the past, sometimes that happens.* That said, flowers, even if not given in life, are worth giving. So, American Perfumer. Again, I was looking for local, thoughtful gifts that didn't require a lot of standing, shopping and heavy, close breathing to acquire. Smelling good is always on the menu and an under-reviewed business is always quick to get my 'hidden gem/first to review' juices flowing. AP has (had?) a well-appointed, easy-to-navigate site that allows you to sort/shop by brand, perfumers, and elements (concentration, notes, style). This helps to assure that if you can't stand around and sniff a bunch of fragrances (which leads to sales person annoyance, headaches and nose blindness), you can make an educated guess about what your gift recipient (or, yourself) would best like. Genius. Using the tools set before and my incredible knowledge of alchemy, I conjured up a scent so perfect that when my recipient received the scent, she couldn't stop raving about it. That's how you do it. That's how it's done. I hope this store is still around. Others need the opportunity to show off boss gift buying skills. That chore and the experience that spawned it; left an incredibly sour feeling in my soul and I wanted to give back something positive to offset its negativity. I digress, American Perfumer, is a business deserving of the upmost praise, adoration and respect. My first in store experience was nothing short of astonishing. I was able to smell so many scents and was walked through their intricate details effortlessly by Dave (if I have somehow got the name wrong I vehemently apologize.) Being able to describe a scent note and instantaneously be provided several different choices with it in it was a breathtaking, almost ethereal experience. The kindness, professionalism, knowledge and vibe was outstanding. Even during the horrible Covid pandemic he kept email contact with former customers and kept high lighting small independent American perfume creators. The way he understands this artistry is reverent. I look forward to the email correspondence that I receive telling of a new lottery to purchase a limited run or celebrating an Art and Olfaction Award winner. My skin care and make up is a sorting of Peter Thomas Roth, NARS, Urban Decay, Huda, Chanel, Shiseido, DIor and Pro-active. Sephora always has great customer service and has provided top of the line products and deals. The best part about these sephora shopping trips are the fact that I get to have all my favorite brands in house expect the fact that they don't care chanel make up. I went ahead and recently purchased a Dior Lipstick to go to Alabama and visit someone special. It was a Nude color which was perfect for the task. It does also help that the Apple store and The chanel counter is inside Oxmoor Macy's in case I need anything there. Thank you Sephora for providing great service.

I had a great experience today, even with the store being a tornado of activity for the holiday…read more Greeters stood at the front of the store and walked me to the product shelf I'd asked about. When I sports the shelf was bare, another associate went to the stock room to learn if more were available. No luck! I decided to get in line for a gift card. The line was long but moving. The counter had 4-5 associates checking people out - plus, a few others were coming through the line with card readers to check out customers. While in the line I spotted the eye mask product I was looking for! Exciting!! Plus they were 30% off so I was able to grab a few more at almost the same price. The customer service made a huge difference to my time at Sephora today. A lot of associates were in the store to help, so I hope other customers had a great time today too.

This particular location is in the Jefferson mall of Lousiville Kentucky across from there food court. I'd say it's been here for what has to be over 20 plus years. Now me being a husband and a father my experiences over the last twenty years has been either Christmas shopping or sitting by awkwardly while the wife underwear shops. Victoria secrets is a high end shop but they have nice items and I'm not afraid to admit that they have great smelling perfume. I've probably purchased my wife every fragrance (heavenly is my favorite) over the last twenty years we've been together and now that my daughters are older (Happens fast) they have started wearing the perfumes and pink clothing apparel. This particular location in the Jefferson mall is massive. It has a full lingerie classic store front and right next door is a fully functional "pink" appeal store. The stores connect on the inside and use the same registers. But they do have separate entrances that sit side by side. Overall, I've been to this chain more times then I can count. I've purchased a lot of birthday, anniversary and Christmas gifts from here. I'm usually here at least every September and they usually have pretty good promos on there perfumes. So that's nice. Long time Jefferson mall staple that I foresee being there for a long long time.

I had been to a similar type store before but I liked Sea Love so much better. What I loved the most was that there was a wall of hundreds of scents and you pick 3 to create your own blend. I like musky/smoky scents and my fiancé prefers light, clean scents so we were able to create our own unique blends. There were about a dozen or so "vessels" (jars) to choose from with the prices ranging $35-$50 depending on the size and material. The worker when we went, Giovanna, was friendly and knowledgeable and made our experience a ton of fun. This is perfect for a date, a girls day, or even something fun to do with a group.

We picked up a few things, including the softest sweatshirt on discount from valentines. The shop is tucked in the Westport Village with plenty of parking plus other shops and restaurants to make the candle making experience a full day of entertainment. Also, the owner of the shop was lovely! So friendly and upbeat, plus attentive to her customers. #shoplocal
