I finally purchased this photograph after years of pining away for it. Christian spent a lot of time with me making suggestions and providing options for this piece. I really valued his expert opinion and appreciated the amount of time he spent with me while I hemmed and hawwed over a decision. I eventually went with one of his first suggestions. I love that he noted the metallic finish of the photo and he took that into account when suggesting a mat. I mentioned it was going on a bright orange wall and he thought the white on white would play well with the color. I absolutely LOVE this piece and treasure it. Many years ago, I acquired one of my most prized possessions--the 2013 Breeders Cup saddle cloth for Centralinteligence (spelled correctly, by the way), a son of the great Smarty Jones. I took it to be framed back in January and, just today, I got the piece back. I worked with Leslie, who had never seen a saddle cloth before but completely understood my wish to preserve it (dirt and all) for posterity. She devised a 3-1/2" box frame that allows the saddle cloth to "stand" in three dimensions under museum glass to protect against UV damage and a trough (hidden behind the matte) to capture any loose dirt that falls over time. The photograph is one I took and the program page is from the original program. In any case, this will hang in my new home office, which hasn't been painted yet (I've been waiting for this to arrive before deciding on a color). The whole piece measures 36" wide by 32" tall and weighs approximately 15 pounds. Centralinteligence was bred by Patricia Chapman in 2008 and he's out of the Seattle Slew mare, Shootforthestars (who is a legend amongst Smarty Jones aficionados). Centralinteligence, the only North American Grade One stakes winner for Smarty Jones, retired after this race with a record of 4-3-1 in 14 career starts and earnings of $309,171. Hmmmm.....a sledgehammer and claw hammer wind chime sculpture........LOVE IT! There was something so wicked about watching the dangling hammers blow gently in the summer breeze..... This is cute little frame shop in downtown Forestville that also displays and sells the work of local artists. I went here for a friend's first "gallery" opening, and even though this isn't some fancy pants high-falutin' art gallery in the city, it was still very exciting for her and wonderful to see her artwork on the wall. The owners were very nice and they have a lovely garden with sculptures, lavender, and a big bench to relax on out back. My friend speaks very highly of the custom picture framing they have done for her, and based on what I have seen, they do a very good job. If you're in the area, it is worth checking this place out for the local art and the garden alone. And if I had a spare $1,500, I'd buy that hammer wind chime in a hot second! read more

Words cannot describe Leslie's work! I can literally leave something there with the only instructions: Do your magic! and she will produce incredible masterpieces. All the frames are unique and you can tell she really looks for special stuff. Her matting, color choices, and other artistic touches don't overwhelm what she frames, but do enhance everything she puts her hands on. She has a great eye for style and color. When I moved down to Oakland to go to school, I tried to find another frame shop, but after 3-4 mediocre interviews, I decided to make that drive when I need something framed--almost an hour and a half!
