I'm going to tell you why I wouldn't go anywhere else let alone do any other kinds of workouts. I injured my back a couple years ago doing heavy weight lifting. It happened in one day (squats) but I believe my back weakened over time and then boom, that day happened. I came across Lisa by luck I guess you could say, and she's been like an Angel on my shoulder ever since. Lisa taught me that it's easier to workout and look good on the outside than to build the inside. What I mean is that most people including myself before, work from the outside in. That's pretty much everyone in the gym, lifting weights, sculpting the outside but most do not develop the tiny little muscles on the inside, that really supports our whole body. Most of us have a weak "core" and undeveloped stomach muscles. That's why most of us have fat in places that we do not want. Since July, I've been working out with Lisa and my back has gotten much better, my core stronger, stomach leaner, legs leaner, arms leaner, face leaner. I've gotten stronger. My back is hurting less and less. It's really crazy that this is happening. My confidence and everything about me has gone up. Its a true blessing. Lisa teaches in a way that I've never known or been taught. She's a master at her craft, has spent thousand of hours on her craft and knows what she's doing. Lisa has been helping me build my undeveloped muscles, and getting my core stronger. In return I'm getting stronger, developing these tiny muscles and my stomach fat is going away as well as the rest of the fat on my body. All without really changing my diet, I've been consistent and haven't missed a workout, that's the true key. I'm not saying don't change your diet, we all have different body types, but for me my plan is being executed. Lisa will tell you that this doesn't happen over night. Lisa is a sweet person by a no nonsense person. She expects you to show up on time ready to work. She has so many different exercises it's hard to believe and every workout is different. She has been increasing the difficulty level of my workout over time as i get stronger. Believe me, it is not easy but it has so much reward. Lisa educates you as you go along, as she understands exactly how the body works. Lisa is a perfectionist, coaches you along the way, precisely and with passion. Lisa is a stickler for form, and the way things are done, from your body position, and how you perform each exercise. Lisa will not except less. Some of my friends laugh because they think of pilates as some kind of " weak or girl thing". Most guys just lift weights cause that's what we're taught. Let me tell you, this is harder than lifting weights, this is one of the biggest challenges I have ever been faced with. For me, it's this or surgery, choose. My choice has been this and it's paying off in wonders. Lisa took before and after pictures of me and in 6 months a huge difference. Not only is my back getting stronger and hurting less, my spinal structure is actually changing. My body is healing itself, putting muscles and bones back in the proper place. I can't wait to see how I look and feel after 1 year. If your looking for a magic pill or quick fix scheme, just keep going to your gym cause this isn't for you. If your looking to get serious and make a true change in your life, this is where you want to be. Lisa can help change your life but it's truly up to you, the time, the effort, the consistency. But the real standout is Gabriel Guadalajara and his Killer Core class. WOW. Gabriel is phenomenal. After health issues and taking a break, I went right back to her and she adjusted the work out to make sure I would get something out of it and not injure myself. Her instructors are very talented and the space is private so you don't have people watching you. I would recommend it for any age because I've seen so many people in classes and if the class decides to change it up she will. I couldn't recommend her enough. She's fantastic and she also has her cute Pomeranian in class to help take your mind off the burn lol.

Although I've liked many of the trainers I've worked with, I've never had one as good as Jenny. Her attentiveness and knowledge far exceeds any trainer I've ever worked with. She provides corrections that often seem small but isolate and strengthen whatever is targeted. She understands the body and expertly guides you but will quickly pivot to another exercise if she sees you're form is incorrect so you don't get injured. The next day I was the perfect amount of sore, whereas other studios/instructors I have been painfully sore the next day. First of all, the studio is located on the bottom floor of a private training gym called Fitness Factory. There is a parking lot, but unfortunately those who are going to Jenny Tate can't park in the lot. So, parking was a bit hard to find but I managed to find a metered street spot. Sucks that you have to pay for parking when you come take a class here! Guy was great, very friendly and helpful. He took the time to learn everyone's names and provided modifications for beginners and those with injuries. He wasn't judgmental like a lot of pilates instructors I've had in LA are. I started with their mat…read moreseries in August 2025 and am currently going through their reformer series, ending in June 2026. Maria, Miku, and Colette are phenomenal instructors. I have learned so much in my personal Pilates practice as well as from an instructor standpoint. As someone who doesn't have the "traditional" Pilates background (I'm not a dancer, I come from sports and weightlifting), I've found that Bodyline is supportive and welcoming to all human experiences. The students are as diverse here as you'll experience anywhere. I've taken private lessons from Colette and am just starting group classes at the studio. It's great to be able to put in practice what you learn in class in the actual studio to reinforce concepts and get familiar with expected choreo and queues before the test-out. I've noticed such an improvement in my own practice, both inside and outside of Pilates, due to the personalized feedback I've gotten here and thorough information I've learned about corrections for lumbar lordodis and hip popping. I highly recommend checking out Bodyline if you're looking to take your practice to the next level!
