Excellent wings. Have to be the best in Macon. So many flavors and they taste amazing. I ordered a few 2 oz. cups n some fries to sample before I ate and let me tell you... it was well worth it. My wife gas the ten piece. Half boomerang and half tangy peach... and I didn't get to sample a single one although she said she only wanted a 5 piece when we got there. I had the 10 piece combo with fried okra and we shared. I got honey with a kick and Macon heat. Altogether we spent right about $35. Staff is friendly enough...just "don't pour no" ice in their trash lol. Oh and that pink and yellow lemonade mix is IMMACULATE!!

Mr. Carl, owner of Francars, is one of the hardest working men I know. He always goes the extra mile for his restaurant and customers. Francars is known for their sauces. The most popular one is Mercer Gold. It's the best of its kind in Macon, GA. While similar to Zaxby's Hot Honey Mustard, Mr. Carl's sauce is way better. Order the chicken strips!

The ambiance was warm and comfortable. Any questions I asked they answered me about the food items. They don't have a set menu cause it changes every or other day depending. The girl in the back fixed me and my mom plate really good! The food was delicious and seasoned well. We got our food to go and the plate was heavy plus dessert we had was good! Next time we go back I hope to try they Ox tails.

It…read moreis a "meat and 2 sides" kind of restaurant where you order at the counter, but you'll definitely want to visit for what is special about it. First, the food is amazing. I ordered all vegetable sides. My meal came with a hoecake, dessert, and a beverage. All for under $11. It's a little more if you get a meat dish, but I don't think it's much more. Let's first talk about the food. Hands down the best mac 'n cheese I've had in Macon. It's creamy and not overly greasy and doesn't feel like it's been sitting for hours in a warming tray. The butter beans were perfectly seasoned with just a hint of smoke flavor, not mushy, not greasy, perfection. The collards were also perfect. It had visible pieces of pork, wasn't overcooked, and the juice was just right - not too salty and not sweet. I'm not much of a dessert person, so probably didn't enjoy the banana pudding as much as most would have, but it was very good. And the best part? You can eat as much as you like! Let me move on to service. My server, and I wish I had asked her name, kindly came to check on me to see if I wanted seconds in anything. Yes, you heard me right! If you're still hungry, they will bring you more of whatever you want. I don't know if that's true of the meats, since I didn't get any, but definitely the sides. My server was the nicest woman. Attentive, but not hovering. She enjoyed hearing how much I liked the food and I really enjoyed our interactions. Every single person there was smiling and kind and I felt like I was having lunch in a friend's dining room. Even the chef, Christine Jackson, stopped by my table to say hello and see how I was doing. Finally, the ambiance. The restaurant itself is bare bones and a little run down, although it's obvious there was care put into it - there are table linens and centerpieces on the tables and the place is clean - they just earned a health score of 95, so no worries there. But this is not fine dining or a place for a dinner date and I absolutely loved the homey vibe. You can always get your meal to go, but then you will miss out on having seconds of that yummy food. We need to support our local businesses! Please show up for Suther'n Folke Kitchen. You'll be glad you did.

Being down in Macon Ga. for the weekend I thought it was so cool…read moreto try some new restaurants. The Brasserie Circa was a great find. With a nice steak line up and very creative pasta dishes. The ambiance and decor shows an elegant and sophisticated feel. It's hard to find good sushi so when I seen their line up I knew I was going to pass on the pasta and steaks and go right for the sushi. lol The Chef's Selection (assorted sashimi/nigiri) was a bit of a mystery as it didn't explain anything other than it was the chef's selection. I'm always up for an adventure so I went with it. All I can say is wow what a dish. 4 kinds of fish. Hawaiian Butter fish, Yellow Fin, Salmon and Tuna. And so much of it. Four big pieces of each. Luckily there were other Sushi fans at the table so none went to waste. That coupled with good service and awesome cocktails made for a delightful experience. It's on my list for Must Macon stops.
