We had a catastrophic plumbing leak. Home had only been empty for two days, in that time 3 bedrooms, a hallway, and bathroom were saturated. All the flooring was puddled - waves on the water in our master bedroom. Obviously, we freaked out, called a friend and got a recommendation for France. They were at the house within 4 hours and got to work with industrial dehumidifiers and fans. An isolated 'dry space' was created. It took a full week to fully dry, but they had sophisticated equipment to show areas that still needed time. This was infinitely valuable, long-term. Drying work was done by we'll say Team-1. During drying, Team-2 restorers were assessing damage and creating a very detailed repair plan. They negotiated this plan with our insurance, settling on a full-value payout. Team-2 was flexible in using the insurance money in the highest-value way possible. Repairs did take 6 weeks, but we're in a rural area, and the repairs totaled over $30,000. It was a big job. Further, we had a holiday deadline and France found a way to meet it. End of process, everything got fixed, on time, and we weren't out any more money beyond our deductible. Hopefully, this will be our one and only interaction with a major homeowner claim, but if another ever happens I wouldn't hesitate to call France. read more

Not honest. They set a budget with the insurance company for my flood but didn't stick to it. No detail for me to check. Lots of things had to be redone cause they did it wrong the 1st time. Example: they installed the furnace room door so it opened inward covering the furnace so it cover the service when door opened. That was not how it was initially installed. They didn't put doorknobs on folding openers and had to plug the hole made and start over. They installed doors then had to uninstall and take back down for new paint , etc. Poor communication throughout the project. Took nearly a year. Lots of delays and ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION ABOUT GOING OVER WHAT THEY AGREED TO WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY. NOW I'M SUPPOSED TO PAY ?$8,000+ no questions asked over and beyond what was agreed to. It only gets one star because there wasn't one lower... The Good- they got here fast, they took care of the immediate problem. The Bad- I asked for a ballpark figure- they said- "at the very most, and it probably won't be this but at the most, $xxxxx. dollars". Well guess what, it was exactly at that upper end (which seems really high given that the pay for workers is low and horrible benefits- I asked a worker). Then...they didn't finish the job. Nope. Even left equipment behind and didn't fix things that they damaged... Still trying to get things resolved and they are giving me attitude. Don't use these guys. Just don't. read more

I am only giving a one star review because I can't give them a lower score. It took 2 years for F&C to fumble almost every detail on the repair of my home after a flood. The owner of F&C filed a Claim of Lien against me before the repair was completed, overstating the amount that I owed and leaving the date of completion blank because my house wasn't complete. After seeking counsel and working with their attorney, the owner finally reduced the claim against me to the actual amount that I owed. I had to hire an independent inspector because I was not confident in the work. I then filed the independent inspection report with the Department of Labor and Industries. Only after this did I get France & Co to finish my house to code. This company will made my project a complete nightmare. read more

I think they're trying to rip me off, and they aren't returning my phone calls... I'm not sure what to do at this point. My insurance company has done their part and can't help me. They may hesitate to refer fr. & co to other clients, but since I'm currently the only negative review...the only review...what would be their incentive. I'm stumped. This company was awesome, I would recommend them to everyone. Randy was our project manager who has a great crew of people. He was so on it with all our projects. Water damage in kitchen and downstairs ceiling, wood floors in kitchen, living room and dining room. Tony did most of our work and he was punctual, meticulous with everything he did. I would not recommend France & Co. especially if your damage is covered by insurance. When I initially met with the France & Co. representative, I was told the project would not take more than 2 weeks, however, the project took 11 weeks because they did stay on top of the needed repairs, allocate the appropriate resources, or provide the project management oversight they agreed to provide under the construction contract I signed. I ended up having to work directly with the subcontractors, and still had to pay the overhead they charged me. Suggest you work with a different company who will truly manage your project. read more
