Base of the lamp upon arrival!

Don't be fooled by the photos on the website. What arrived looked nothing like the premium product being advertised. France & Son appears to specialize in selling expensive-looking dupes, but unfortunately, the quality doesn't match the marketing. My lamp arrived dirty, damaged, and looking like it had already survived a few rounds in a boxing ring. I immediately contacted customer service and included multiple photos documenting the condition of the item. Apparently that wasn't enough. I was asked for even more photos. Pro tip: if you order from this company, be prepared to conduct a full forensic investigation of your delivery. Photograph the outside of the box, the inside of the box, the packaging materials, the item itself, and possibly the phase of the moon at the time of delivery. The most disappointing part wasn't just the poor quality but the lack of accountability. When a product arrives damaged and clearly not in acceptable condition, customers shouldn't have to jump through endless hoops to prove it. Lesson learned. Never again, France & Sons.

Do NOT buy from here unless you're 100% sure you won't need a return. Ordered Dec 15 chairs arrived Feb 18 (huge delay) Both chairs arrived damaged -- literally stacked on top of each other (major red flag) Rotunda chairs are cheap quality -- broken bases, poor fabric, not worth the price Was told: no refunds then store credit then partial refund then replace one chair finally agreed to return (only because no replacements available) Shipping not refunded Return process = nightmare: Had to contact them with photos and then wait for them to file a claim Weeks later, had to coordinate a technician myself (who confirmed they are not repairable) Then I was told I was going to be responsible for repackaging and labeling these large chairs myself Weeks later they gave me a pickup date, I waited all day but they never actually scheduled the carrier Pickup company confirmed they had no information about me until I followed up and fixed it myself which created another delay Now I'm having to wait another 2-3 weeks, while my house is being used as storage and apparently Im now officially an employee. As of April: Still not picked up No refunds Dozens of emails just to get nowhere They stopped responding after I said I was going to go through my cc company because at this point I just can't deal. Its been almost 3 months since i asked for these to be returned, how hard is it to schedule a pick up? At this point, my house has become their storage unit. Bottom line: delayed delivery, poor quality, and the worst return processes I've ever dealt with.

Replaced the 2" legs to 4" legs on both "French" (Chinese) club chairs ($65.00). Major difference. It did nothing to replace the wrong color.

I dare say its the best furniture store in nyc I. Terms of selection and price. The delivery was too fast and the customer service kept calling me to arrange the delivery. Other than that everything was cool.

A tale of 3 purchases! - In 2021 I bought two pieces of a sectional set, a chaise and a corner. The corner was delivered with a pen mark. They offered me a 10% discount to keep it as-is, but I insisted they replace it. After waiting some time, I followed up asking for a refund; they mistakenly refunded the whole purchase. I emailed twice letting them know of their mistake and offering to call with my CC number, but got no response. Several weeks later they must have been reconciling their books as they realized, and called me asking to recharge me. - This August I ordered an upholstered bed that was described as "linen" and appeared a warm cream on the website. When it arrived, it was a greige chenille. I lived with it for 48 hours and decided I liked it, so did not flag to the store. - This November I ordered an armchair. F&S is clear that they will only bring the piece to your door unless you get white glove delivery; what I did not know was the chair would arrive in a very large wooden crate, as big around as a fridge. I live on the 4th floor of a building and would not be able to dismantle the crate alone and haul away the parts. I refused delivery and asked F&S to resend it with a carrier who would uncrate it. They replied with a link to a subtitled YouTube video showing how to open a shipping crate with a meat cleaver. I asked for a refund, and they sent me better instructions, but no other resolution. I told them I would dispute the charge, and a sales manager with a gMail address replied with typos saying a chargeback would be unethical and "federal wire fraud." The next business day, a customer service rep reached out to offer me a ~50% refund (after restocking fees), which the unhinged sales manager had not mentioned as a possibility. Tl;dr: great selection of good quality pieces, often at great prices, but unprofessional team and operations are a mess. Decide how much you're willing to put up with.

After 4 months of back and forth, their final response.

I contacted customer service and sent photos to which they responded, "It must be moisture, that's why it's rusting." My guests, who are not frequent, put their shoes in the cubbyhole. They certainly do NOT put soaking WET shoes for days in the SAME CUBBYHOLE to make it rust this way. Otherwise, this is where I store my cookbooks. They offered me an outsourced furniture service to 'fix' the issue AT MY COST. The fact that they won't listen to me, or admit this is a faulty piece of furniture, and help me replace it is mind-boggling. For over $700 and Less than a YEAR in my home, NOT EXPOSED CONSTANTLY to WET SHOES makes ZERO sense why this is happening. And instead of being of assistance to keep me as a customer who has spent over $3.5k at this store, it is just sad and VERY BAD service. One would have to keep a wet rag in place for this to have happened in this amount of time.

Great location. I've been increasingly desperately in need of replacing my ~20-year old silverware that I think I purchased from a Bed Bath & Beyond for maybe $20. As it turns out, there's a pretty massive range of cutlery sets on the market, and I felt inclined to see and touch several options before making a purchase, especially if I'm going to drop substantially more than $20 on a replacement. This Crate & Barrel definitely doesn't lack for choice, but my transaction wasn't nearly as simple as picking out a box of new forks and knives. On my first visit, I narrowed down my selection based on aesthetics and material. I learned that I don't love textured metals, and I mildly prefer satin finishes over mirrored ones. I also discovered how massive a range in pricing there is between entry level cutlery and the high end brands. After reading several online reviews, I also determined that I wanted to purchase 18/10 steel for its durability. After all that, I'd figured out that C&B's Aero line (which seems to be a rebranded Cutipol product) might fit the bill, but I wasn't thrilled about the two-tone version they had on display. According to their website, they carry an all-metal version in store, and one of the employees was able to confirm it was in stock in the backroom, however, I had somewhere else to rush off to and decided to come back another time. On my second visit, I bee-lined it to the silverware section and waited to hunt down an employee who could help me obtain a set of the all-metal Aero cutlery. 10-15 minutes later, I finally got to handle a sample. This shit isn't cheap. I wasn't quite prepared to drop several hundred bucks on new silverware, but the store associate came up with the most brilliant idea: after confirming that there was no discount for purchasing multiple sets at once, she suggested I just buy one set to try out for awhile. That way, if I hated it, I wouldn't be out the full shebang. Genius, truly. Several weeks later, generally satisfied with the tester set, I returned for an additional three to round out my cutlery collection. It's a good thing I waited, too, because somewhere during the intervening time, they went on holiday sale for 20% off. My frugal inner Asian granny delights in a discount! Again, I had to wait around for a (harried) store employee to use their magical mobile app powers to summon a minion from the backroom for the ever-elusive non-displayed silverware and was -- eventually -- rewarded for my patience with a trio of shiny (more affordable!) utensil sets! All told, C&B offers a wide range of products. If what you're seeking isn't on display, there's a non-zero chance they might have more hidden away behind the scenes, so ask for help. And before arrival, be sure to gird your loins for a wait, because I've yet to encounter a scenario where there's an overabundance of staff standing around ready to assist.

He from the beginning was impatient in answering our questions about items and was showing attitude for no good reason. We had a terrible experience in their store when we tried to order goods worth more than $3000. He made a mistake in the order. When we asked him to cancel, rather than cancelling the order, he made a duplicate order without notifying us. Our card was charged twice without our approval for the duplicate order. He, after making the duplicate order, told us that we should come back and return the duplicate item when it arrives to get back our money. We were surprised that our card was charged twice without our approval although we were standing in front of him when he was putting in the order. We asked him to cancel both orders as we did not want to come back to return the duplicate item. At that point he became even more rude and was extremely unhelpful. He said the store manager was not around to resolve this dispute, although it seemed he was the store manager. He didn't seem to care that he lost a customer who was ready to buy goods above $3000. This staff should be held responsible for not only losing a customer forever for Rejuvenation and ruining William Sonoma's reputation but also because he was non-transparent to the customer and charged their card for a duplicate item without their approval. Be very very careful when you order anything in the Rejuvenation store and double check what they are charging on your card. We still haven't got back our refund that was charged on our card without our consent.
