I can appriciate a small business and understand why they may not have all sizes and colors in stock, but this will be my first stop shop from now on.

It was also fantastic that they are open Sundays. I can't say whether their prices were great or not, because I left without buying a thing. They had practically nothing in stock, the salesperson we dealt with didn't seem to have a clue about fitting shoes or the products the store carries. The salesperson did not measure my daughter's feet, even though I said I wasn't sure of her size. Instead she brought the sizes they had left, none of which were right. When I asked as to whether they had other sizes from the different makers they carried, she reacted as if the thought had never occurred to her and she did run back to check. She came out with another pair, but again wrong. Of course measuring her foot would've saved a lot of time. Other dance shoe shops I've been to spend time and care in the fitting process. I did see the owner or manager. She was busy throwing one of her employees under a bus for making a mess of the stock room while trying to made amends with another customer whose time was also apparently being wasted. There was one rack of leotards for toddlers, but it was pretty bare. I was told they were going to put an order in this week, but that really doesn't help us. I assume they just had their busiest time and perhaps didn't plan on the high volume of business. I hope they are better organized next year when I try again.

Why is it that I always love Guess things I see in magazines or on their website but I never find…read morethem when I'm in the store? Sometimes their clothes are overpriced but you have to take it for what it is. Is it worth it to spend $80-$100 on a sundress you will wear all summer? Yes. Is it worth it to spend $80-$100 on shirt there? Probably not. (Unless you really love it but its probably no different than a style you could find elsewhere) I wonder about their workmanship. I purchased a wallet there last February and it disintegrated in a month.

I think it's because apparently they use one name/logo to produce 2 lines (this is what I heard from a clerk there) 1 line goes to wal*mart (OK, he didn't say wal*mart, but I think he meant something like wal*mart) and is totally different from what comes out in these Guess stores. Anyway... I have one purse with a giant, blinged-out G hanging off of it, and I'd prefer it if people believed it stood for "Gansta." There are things you can buy here without outrageous logos. The service... seems appropriate enough. Anyway, I find this place to be pretty reasonably priced. Come on, you already decided to go shopping on Newbury St... what were you expecting? If you're looking for a purse that you can afford to soak in gin and a pair of hot stilettos that can be stepped on without getting your heart broken, this place is great.

I had to get a dress for the upcoming Yelp Gala and had no idea where to start. I found a spot close to the Sears entrance and walked down the first hallway. Directly on my right was the Cache and even though I hadnt been to Cache since my Prom days I was hesitant. I entered the store and was greeted warmly by two young women. I went straight to the back of the store where the clearance rejects usually live until they go off to the kill shelter and started going through them hanger by hanger. Then. There is was! My beautiful flooor length, mermaid cut, black ball gown. Love you love you love you. And my size? IS it here? Yes! It is! it was meant to be. The original price was over 300 dollars but it was marked down to 99! Yes! You are coming home with me you sexy little backless thing you! So 115 bucks and some double sided tape later... I am READY for the Gala. The girls there were sweet and helpful. Thanks Cache.. I dont know when we'll meet again.. But I know where to go for a deal on a gown next time I need one!

This is the only Boston-area Banana Republic that I know of to have a large selection of clearance shoes during major sales. Usually the sales section is also bursting with choices. They change the layout of the store on a fairly regular basis, so you won't always find the sales and petites in the same place they were on your last visit. I understand this tactic from a marketing perspective--it gets people to browse more--but as an efficient shopper, it annoys me. You may have noticed I am very aware of the petites section at Banana Republic, despite standing a respectable 5'6". I have a fairly short torso and given the generous cuts of Banana Republic's clothing, actually require the petite in many of their tops and even some of their dresses. This is frankly ridiculous. At my height it's bizarre to require a BR to have a significant petites section to find clothes that fit.
