The real problem for me was despite the fact there were quite a few people working there on a not very busy weekday no one offered me one minute of salesmanship or assistance. No one said hello when I walked in. No one asked me if I needed help. A bunch of wanna be hipsters roamed lethargically about the store doing who knows what. Not much. I tried on a top. I liked it so went to to the register to purchase it. Nary a greeting was uttered by the lackluster guy at the register. And after paying more than I should have in retrospect for the top, this lamebrain took it from the tousled heap he had made of it on the counter and deposited said "heap" into the bag. Oh...he asked me first if I wanted a bag. I had a tiny purse with me and nothing else. Yes, I want a bag even though in your eyes you want to make me out as a wasteful person hence your question because in this day and age no one should want a bag...ever. I am not going to walk out of there with a shirt slung over my bare arm. "Just give me a freaking bag", I wanted to yell. My husband thought I should return the overpriced top after such crappy service but that meant I would have had to spend more time in this awful store. After the payment transaction and before leaving the counter, I took my too expensive top out of the bag and proceeded to fold it properly as should have been done to begin with. Wanna be hipster dude said: "I would have done that for you!" Well, dude, why didn't you? Don't bother with this store. Ugh.

I can usually find a lot of basic clothing at this outlet and tend to buy quite a bit each time I go. The service is usually nonexistent until they realize I'm going to spend a lot. I find that super frustrating but i still go! Unlike other outlets, there's usually all sizes and colors available of whatever is there. The petites section is extensive. They also have accessories for sale right when you come in. I don't see shoes often.

They left us alone to browse, as we requested, but then showed up when we needed their advice. We've found the store clean, well-stocked and the sales genuine. The music was on point for its' vibe--which is funny to say, but you notice when it's annoying. I was greeted kindly and offered help from every employee I passed by. These boots will have to go with the plethora of dresses I like when rain and snow come to Denver. So, there I was walking around the outlet town of Freeport when my eyes fell on a candy store! Woot! I dragged my boyfriend in that direction when all of the sudden my eyes fell on a window display full of rain boots! Double Woot! After browsing the candy store and going into the wrong store due to a mistaken idea about which display window belonged to whom, I ended up in J Crew. I can't recall ever being in one of these chains before, perhaps because most of my clothes came from the 50s? Anyway I hit pay dirt. My rain boots are pink. And are you ready for this? They have little bicycles all over them!!! It was like somebody made them just for me. Best of all I only paid like $30 for them because it was an outlet store. I strolled out of there happier than when I left the candy store. And that's really saying something for a girl like me. Um, I also think J Crew sells clothes, but I can't confirm that. ; )
