Pretty good work, but customer service skills aren't the best. Came in Friday to get a quote for a truck seat that needed to be completely upholstered, and since I didn't care to go to another place that's cheaper I decided to come to franciscos shop... Francisco told me it would probably be ready by Saturday and I said that was fine. I really needed it by Monday at 3pm the latest. It's now Monday and this is the third time I'm here today waiting for my seat and it's past 6pm. If he knew it wouldn't be ready he should have communicated. Worst part about it is that he told me he couldn't work on my seat on Saturday after all because he kept getting customers so he didn't have time. To top it off he even tells me "well sometimes it just doesn't work out the way we want"...I had to bite my tongue and not be rude to him, and while I agree things don't always go your way, this is not something you say to your paying customer after you don't keep your end of the bargain. Totally unacceptable. I also (like others), try to keep my business locally but with this type of service it's needless to say I will not be back. read more

Francisco is just a great human being in general. I've taken a few of my vehicles to him and every time it's been a great experience. I took my Volvo in because the motor went out in the sunroof he said he could fix it not only did he fix it he suggested while he had the whole headliner off that he would just redo the headliner. Just recently I took my Toyota 4Runner in, I asked him to give me a quote on redoing the upholstery and he gave me his honest opinion. He said he would do it but that I should just leave it because the original looks better and to mess with it. He gave me some other suggestions what to do to make my vehicle look new and of course he was right. I decided to visit Francisco for a quote, as I'd become tired of looking at my unsightly cracked center console. The quote was reasonable, and Francisco informed me that he could make the repairs within 30 minutes. The newly re-upholstered center console is beautiful, the fabric color and quality indistinguishable from the dealer's. Things to know and accept: Francisco does a really great job and he's fast, friendly, knowledgable and fairly priced. I had a seam coming loose on my driver's seat (a 2 inch hole) and it now looks amazing. Took him 45 minutes while I waited and cost $75. The downside is, he told me when I stopped by for an estimate to come tomorrow at 9am. I was there at 8:55am and he was there at 10am. He later explained that he lives in Huntington Beach and the rain affected his commute but I read some of these reviews and saw that he has a tendency to be very late. So, I was prepared for this. This is a CASH ONLY business. I was not told that but luckily there was an ATM nearby. I am one who would rather support a local independent business than a corporate one and I've accepted that independent businesses can be less predictable or structured than corporate ones. I have a 2007 Jaguar XK that has a drooping headliner, where the edges are what is solely supporting the headliner up. I went to Francsico's place twice to get an estimate. A plain speaking guy and a little rough around the edges. I had been to several other headliner repair shops that were more polished, but Francisco had an air of confidence that comes with experience. I mentioned I was a little unsure about the job, but he assured me he could do the job in a few hours (other more well appointed shops said 1-2 days with polished prices too) and invited me to hang around and watch; after all, this was a car I was going to keep; a future classic. I had seen a you tube video of a headliner replacement on an earlier Jaguar which seemed pretty complicated. I decided to take a chance (he had very good Yelp reviews) with Francisco. I was not disappointed. The youtube video mentioned the removal of the fiberglass headboard took almost an hour. Francisco took about 20 minutes without any damage. He went to the supplier to get a matching liner, I stood guard of the shop while he was gone (20-30 minutes) and had a couple people come up and ask me questions for which I had no answer; they thought I was Francisco. Pretty funny. Francisco is an interesting character that does great work competently and with good value. I received a 2 year Warranty. I would come back if I had an auto upholstery job; no question.
