We had a…read morehard time finding a plumber, but finally found Optimal Plumbing (highly recommend), who came and fixed the plumbing issue the same day - within a few hours of first contacting them. Upon assessing the issue, Optimal Plumbing suggested that we call APR to handle the rest of the cleanup. I emailed Bernice at APR, who promptly replied. We then talked by phone briefly so that I could further explain the situation. APR dispatched someone within a hour. Tim and another gentleman were excellent to work with. Tim explained what they would be doing in terms of assessing the crawlspace to help prepare an estimate. Furthermore, he explained how the rest of the process would play out if I chose to move forward with their quote. He was the perfect mix of friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. APR was able to send me an itemized estimate within 2 hours of Tim's visit, and I was happy to move forward with their (very reasonable) quote. Tim and the other employee returned the next business day to complete the cleanup, and they did an absolutely phenomenal job. My crawlspace looks better than it ever has before, and they were very respectful of the rest of my property while getting the job done. Not a single thing was left behind. Following the cleanup, I also communicated briefly with Cindy about options for paying the invoice, and she was just as friendly, helpful, and responsive as the other employees. Overall, we were highly impressed by APR. While I hope I never need to use their services again, I would not hesitate to do so. A+ all around.

Green Home Solutions are truly the best to work with for mold remediation. I unfortunately live in…read morea place that it is very hard to keep moisture out of, because I have a shared crawl space with a whole row of townhouses that is not enclosed and my HOA will not enclose it, and I cannot enclose just my portion. I used Green Home the first time at the end of 2020 and while the price was a little bit higher than some other mold remediation options, when reading the description of what their service did, I could tell it would be worth the difference. Other services are killing mold with harsh chemicals, that intended to kill on-contact and at that point in time, but if you have mold elsewhere that you can't see or get to, then those products won't kill that or prevent regrowth as it quickly spreads back from the unreached areas. With Green Home's product, it's more like with insect fumigation, so they treat the worst areas on contact and then spread the treatment that is an enzyme that continues eating other mold, to cover anything airborne or that you can't see/reach. Although I will warn you that the treatment may damage the paint around areas that have significant growth on them. The paint cracked quite a bit around my air vents, but they warned me that it would before they did that, so I knew what I was getting. I'm not sure if traditional mold treatment methods do that or not, but I guess I figured that with mold all around two of my vents (where the AC comes out most concentrated) that it made complete sense that removing it effectively would damage the paint underneath. The treatment did not damage the paint job in the rest of the house at all, just in those few highly concentrated spots. I recommend moving or covering any furniture or clutter that is underneath concentrated spots, because I forgot to do that this most recent time they came and I ended up with chips of paint all over some clutter that was under one of the ceiling vents, because I completely forgot that part. The first time they treated my house, they did air testing afterwards to ensure that the air did not have more mold in it, and when mine did, they treated again at no cost and helped me figure out why it wasn't working optimally. It turned out that in addition to the unsealed crawl space, several of my windows were OPEN at the top by about an inch, behind the top of the blinds where I couldn't see. The windows are old and the top halves weren't staying up anymore, but I had no idea. I had only owned my first home for about a year, and the windows not staying closed hadn't come up in the inspection. They recommended replacing the windows or adding dowel rods to hold them up, and they also recommended I get a dehumidifier, and told me what range of humidity I should keep it under to slow any future mold growth. Then they came back and tested again after the second treatment and it was all good! Mold regrowth started again about 3-3.5 years after the treatment, but I knew it would, and I'm certain that a standard kind of mold treatment would have had it regrowing sooner. I admittedly waited for it to get worse again because I needed to save up to do another treatment, so I just had it redone in Feb 2025, as well as having my car treated. The young men who came out to do the treatments were so kind, thoughtful and careful. My only complaint was that they forgot to reattach one of my vents, and two screws were missing and it was on the ceiling over my stairs so I couldn't put a step stool up to replace it myself, but I called to let them know and they apologized and sent someone out to put it back up and brought extra screws. Not a big deal and an easy fix. After these two treatments, I forgot to schedule the follow up air quality testing and I just reached out yesterday because there is a bit of mold regrowth in the car (it is a broken down car that's not getting used, so it's hard to keep it from stagnating) and they said they'd be happy to come do a quick refresh on the car and then test inside the house to make sure everything is good after this past treatment. They really are so great to work with, and I highly recommend.

It didn't seem to be actively leaking, so we waited until Monday to get a plumber in to have a look. One leaking toilet seal (wax floor seal) later and our house was +70 dBs louder with our bathroom floor tile removed and drying equipment upstairs and downstairs. I'm glad we called Professional Restoration Services! They have been so helpful and professional (of course!) throughout the water mitigation process. They quickly assessed the issue that the plumber had seen (subfloor damage) and began work on demolition, mold removal, and drying out the area so it could be repaired. Drew (OSU fan, but I won't hold it against him) was great in his initial assessment and was helpful with explaining the process and even working with the insurance claims adjuster who happened to be here at the same time. Esam, Cameron and George performed the service and daily checkups and were always friendly, helpful and professional! And everyone was very thoughtful with their cleanliness (always wore booties in the house, laid down plastic, etc....)! They are a local company and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has to deal with water mitigation and damage issues in their home! This review is for the water mitigation portion of our service only, I'll post another, separate review for the repair work after it is complete.

We had a pipe leak that started in a closet and quickly turned into far more work than we ever expected. What began as a small issue became a full first-floor restoration -- new flooring throughout, drywall replacement, painting, and new trim. Needless to say, it was a much bigger project than we were prepared for. We initially hired another restoration company and spent over a month struggling to get updates and track down invoices. They even told us we didn't need to replace our bedroom carpet -- but when Carolina Restoration took over, they immediately recommended replacing it to properly mitigate the risk of mold. We are SO thankful they did. That level of attention and care made all the difference!! From day one, the Carolina Restoration team made the entire process seamless and organized. Our project manager, Sam, was personable, knowledgeable, and truly put us at ease throughout. They coordinated with ANS Painting Company, and Alex and his team went above and beyond -- not only repainting walls beautifully but even painting our baseboards to match our kitchen cabinets! The attention to detail was incredible, and our home truly looks better than ever! From start to finish, Carolina Restoration exceeded every expectation. They kept us informed, prioritized our comfort, and somehow created a sense of normalcy while our home was under construction. We are endlessly grateful to Sam, Alex, and both teams for their professionalism, kindness, and thoroughness. You won't find a better restoration company in Raleigh -- seriously, this is your sign to hire Carolina Restoration Services ASAP!!
