I wasn't very impressed by this market. I had called ahead to ask if they had fresh, as opposed to frozen calamari and was told that they did. When I arrived I saw that they had a very limited number of offerings. What they did have smelled fresh. But nothing was marked "farmed" or "wild caught," and there was no indication of where anything had been sourced from. I asked the woman at the counter about what they had that was wild caught and she didn't seem to understand the question. I ended up buying a few blue crabs and a package of frozen calamari, as they do not carry fresh calamari. Ultimately, the crabs had almost no meat on them and the calamari tentacles were so tiny that the only thing they could be used for was to flavor a seafood sauce. I will not be returning. read more

This fish market is hidden away. If a friend hadn't told us about it, we would have never found it. It is a small store, but they have a pretty good variety of fresh seafood at very good prices. The store looked clean and the staff was very helpful. read more

First this was not a good visit. I've been there before. I was impressed with the store it was clean well stocked. Fish was fresh. They had what was looking for so it went well. I do not recommend this place. The old lady, which I believe is the cashier really disrespectful when I was trying to ask about fish. She got pissed right away with no reason. Don't know if she don't like what she's doing or else ,I don't have to worry about me seeing her not going back , you can check this by yourself again I do not recommend it read more

A week after I bought some items, I took them out of the freezer to cook dinner. The day I bought the items, the only good thing was the salmon. It turned out good. However the perch was spoiled and might be the reason why it was frozen. The salmon was not frozen. The scallops I purchased were pre-packaged. I will never do that again. After I opened them I noticed 1/4th of them were yellow vs the white ones. I picked them out and threw them away. After cooking I noticed no smell, but I tasted a terrible repulsive flavor to them. I tried a few more and decided that it wasn't worth eating or getting sick. The shrimp were OK. After I defrosted them, there was a bit of a smell to them, but I cleaned them and rinsed them so I could make coconut fried shrimp. Overall I was not pleased with the experience. I think I would rather go to Publix to get seafood even though I don't like doing that anymore. read more

The fish is fresh. The service is friendly and fast. You can go in the cooler and pick out your own fish. The have a variety of fish to choose from. The prices are reasonable and comparable to any other place. Love the fresh water bream, croakers and cat fish. The female who claims to be the owner, she and her daughter was very rude in speaking to me in a rude manner, because i asked if the crabs they were selling were dead because they showed no movement. The so call owner said they were sleeping because they were in the freezer. Well when I got home their were a few dead ones. The place is a dump if you are used to purchasing FRESH FISH in larger cities, like Boston, New York, Chicago or Denver. You try to return the rotten fish and they are still nasty and unprofessional even when you show them the evidence. The fish was so rotten, no way I could cook it, I had to take it out of my house and quadruple bagged it and put it in the trash. The bears still smelled the stench and knocked over my trash can and pulled the trash all over my property. I returned to the store and was greeted with hostility. Frank & Sons hands down is the best fish market around. The fish here is so fresh with their clear eyes. What I love is you get to see the whole fish. This ensures you are getting the fish that actually matches the name. The wide variety of fish is not comparable to any where. Sheep Head, Catfish, Catfish fillets, Marlon, Grouper, blue crabs, Salmon and too many others to mention. When you walk into their walk in cooler you will be amazed at what you see. You also can purchase all of your fish fry needs. They take the time to gut, scale and clean fish. You do however need to take the fish home and do additional cleaning but the hard work is definitely done right in front of you while you wait. Friendly and helpful. If you don't know how to order your fish then ask. This was the first time we bought fish this way and it will not be the last. So it does not look like your supermarket, go ahead and try it. We got grouper and it was super fresh and delicious. They filayed our grouper and we learned that we could have kept the remainder to cook for soup. Grouper also has some meaty sections in the cheeks and head. Last time I am going to buy from this fish market. The service is quick? It is so quick they are trying to rush you out of the store before you can even look around. The customer service approach should be: "Let me know when you are ready, I'll be happy to help you", not, "Can I help you yet?" Can I help you yet?" Can I help you yet?" Don't appreciate being followed around either, and I walk into the cooler, and then two boys that worked there, followed me in, making believe they were working on something.
