A quick search for Italian food nearby our hotel showed us this place. We were very impressed with the food! My husband is from Boston and Frank's definitely reminds of us both of a quaint East Coast Italian restaurant. The service was fast and friendly! Our entrees both came with salads and we ordered garlic bread which was so good! I ordered spaghetti and hubby ordered chicken parmigiana. The location wasn't difficult to find and only a couple of miles from our beach front hotel. The building is two story. The first floor dining room was small but romantic. I didn't see the upstairs but I would assume it's a bigger space as I did see their advertisement for banquet facilities. We will definitely be back next time we're in Corpus!

The vibes here were great! It had such an authentic and home like feeling. Maria was the sweetest and the best customer service we've received in a long time, attentiveness and funny humor made this experience worth wanting to going back... she need to be a manager or a big raise lol. I wasn't to much a fan of the pizza it was good if your a thin crust kinda person but personally I prefer and a good amount of marinara sauce and thick crust but this one lacked both for me.. spaghetti was very delicious! Minestrone soup and mozzarella sticks are definitely highly recommended. 10/10 on that . Very interesting story behind the building itself. Go see for yourself! (:

The interior is beautiful. Friendly, inviting, and almost homey. The service is impeccable. Our server was beyond nice, making wonderful recommendations as well as being honest about dishes. He was also incredibly kind (our cheesecake was free since it was a small size, the lemonade we were no charged for since we couldn't get a refill, and we also received a complimentary coffee). Overall truly outstanding. The food was also wonderful. Every dish was more delicious than the last one, but for me the cheese crostini was the star of the show. The desserts were a bit disappointing and definitely not as good as the rest of the meal. Nevertheless my family and I still thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Definitely worth checking out!

My grandpa LOVES this place, so I had to stop by before heading home. I had a strong craving for spaghetti and meatballs, and it was delicious. The noodles were a bit undercooked, but the rest made up for it. The meatballs are BIG! I just ordered two and got pretty full. They're well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I also ordered fried mushrooms which were so crispy and perfect to dip in ranch. The ambiance is so great. The checkered table cloths. The dim lighting. The woodsy interior. Love it all!

Off the beaten track in a quaint historic building, been in business since 1921! Locally owned I got take out spaghetti and tomato basil soup. It was very affordable and more than worth the $8 I paid. Nice friendly server guy Josh told me about history of the restaurant. I enjoyed it and would go back if I lived here. BYOB

Good Italian food in an ambiance that appears to stand the wheels of time. This was my first time here but I have a feeling that this place hasn't changed in a couple of decades. Alfredo sauce and the lasagna were my favorite, Oh and btw two free wine glasses!

Mehhhh. I probably wouldn't return here. The prices are quite high for the amount and quality of food you get. The cheesy garlic bread was $10, which is a little high for bread, but it was good! The two chicken dishes we got were just OK, and the portion sizes are honestly quite small for $16 plates. The service was great and the waiter was very attentive and nice. The ambiance is a quaint small Italian place. I like to support local, but you would be better off cooking a homemade pasta for the money.

Not unusual for many of the businesses nearby, but fighting for a spot in the end may not be worth it. It seems the place is mostly attuned to locals. Light on any kind of greetings, you place your order inside and they'll bring it to you wherever you are sitting. The food came out in an appropriate time and after that, don't expect to see anyone again as it is largely self service with condiments, napkins, etc. available on a nearby cart where you also will leave your baskets at the end of the meal. The food itself was only ok. We ordered the happy hour mozzarella and marinara dippers (dear readers, this is simply a single grilled cheese cut into four triangles. Delicious! And only $4, but the wording on that could maybe have been better...) the chicken salad sandwich with potato salad, and the shrimp tacos. The chicken salad errs on the sweet side, which the brioche bun only adds to, and was in much need of a hot sauce which I did add but still wasn't the largest fan. The potato salad was really good, but the indication on the menu that it was spicy was misplaced - it is yellow, sure, but not spicy. As for the shrimp tacos, again not fantastic but the shrimp was cooked quite perfectly. The combination of ups and downs put this smack in the middle for me. We had planned to stay for a few drinks, but decided to hop to a few other local businesses to see if we could find a better vibe. Overall, I would say this is a good spot to feed kids quickly and on the cheap(ish) and maybe hang and chat with friends.

I really wanted to keep loving Bien Mérité, but after three attempts, I'm extremely frustrated. Each visit has involved inaccurate and constantly changing wait times. My first attempt on 4/10 around 2pm in the afternoon. It was just me and my 15month old baby, there was only 2-3 tables occupied and I was told 45 minute wait with an almost empty dining room. I asked the hostess due to me being 9 months pregnant and having a toddler if I could just at least sit down while waiting the additional 45 mins and was told no. So I totted out my baby and myself, bought pastries and left. The second attempt I was quoted an hour , waiting the full hour and checked back in with the hostess stand only to be told it was going to be an additional hour, on top of what we already waited again. Third attempt (Sunday, April 26) waited a full hour, checked in once again with the hostess and was told it is now going to be another 90 minutes on top of once again the hour we already waited. I understand waits happen, but this level of inconsistency feels disorganized and disrespectful of customers' time--especially when expectations are set incorrectly from the start. I'm just asking for transparency and honesty here. It's disappointing because the space is beautiful and I've always supported this business but the waitlist management and homestead stand seriously needs improvement on honesty and management of times.
