My Son just started working there, and The owner is very disrespectful, doesn't know how to cook, doesn't know how to treat his employees, Cusses at his employees. I rate this place a zero. Trying to find an uncrowded restaurant on this busy Thursday proved difficult but not impossible when we found Maggie's on Everhart. Our party of four walked in and were immediately seated. It's a tiny space, only about a dozen tables but the waitress was welcoming and took our drink orders while we reviewed the menu. The cuisine leans heavily on Italian selections: pizza, calzones, pasta, subs. They also offer sandwiches, gyros, appetizers, burgers and American favs like chicken fried steak and catfish. We ordered fried mushrooms, eggplant parmigiana, a custom calzone, chicken club with soup and a chicken fried steak with salad and mashed potatoes. The fried mushrooms were fine, hot and crispy, but nothing special. All the entrees were good, but not great; the soup a very strange mix of veggies, the calzone filling but meh, the eggplant a huge portion but not extraordinary and the chicken fried steak was tasty but the gloppy gravy and potatoes with tough skins weren't appetizing. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. The space looks like it's out of the 1980s and could use a facelift but it was clean. Total for four entrees, one appetizer and four teas was $76.80 including tip. read more

Ordered to-go. I got chicken parm, wife ordered the Alpine Chicken over Rice. Mine was prepared perfectly, the noodles and marinara tasty. Wife thought they were a little heavy on the garlic but still found her dish very palatable. Both of us got the creamy turkey veg soup as a side. I could do a large bowl of the soup. They weren't busy, a couple of tables in use at the time I arrived. Cozy little place. We last went to Maggies when they were on Alameda. Not sure we're ready to sit down in cramped spaces with strangers even yet (not that I would call this cramped)...but when we are, I would recommend Maggies. read more

I would rate it a zero, except the cheese bread was good. I ordered the Spicy Seafood marinara, and I could not eat it because the calamari was so tough I could not chew it. The fettuccine Alfredo that my sister and Nephew ordered had no white Alfredo sauce, and the noodles were tough. They both sent theirs back. The entrees came with soup or salad; even though my sister and nephew did not eat their soups, they were charged for them. We are vacationing here in corpus and saw the reviews on Maggie's and gave it a try and we were very pleased we had a late lunch of turkey dinner, turkey sandwich, pizza, with French onion soup and bread pudding for desert. All looked and tasted homemade with the right quantity and served hot. The waitress was friendly attentive and had a great personality The French onion soup I believe was right out of the oven. This place is small and intimate and the food is great, as long as they don't forget your order! I went in on a Friday evening. The place was completely empty. No customers. I placed my order and after waiting roughly 20 minutes, I was giving it and me and my son left. Upon arriving home, I discovered that they forgot my son's pizza! I called them and they said it was there. I went back to the restaurant and the waiter handed me the pizza box that the 10" pizza comes in. How does one forget to include that with your order!? We ordered Maggie's again tonight and it was so good. I got the Fried Chicken Club with fries. It was delicious. A pounded chicken breast perfectly breaded and fried, bacon, lettuce, Tomato, cheese and mayo on a super soft bun. My husband got the baked ziti and he said it was amazing. The ONLY thing I'd say was disappointing was the coconut cake. The cake itself was DEVINE but it was a VERY small piece for $5.99. The cake though....HEAVENLY. Pizza has thin crust with some crisp, there was a low level of grease, dough was hand tossed, big plus. The sauce was good and the crust was decent with cornmeal dusting on bottom; however, It was slightly undercooked. The cheese should be browned more and the bottom should have leopard spots. 5-10 more minutes in the oven would have done it justice. As seems to be common in the area, there was too much cheese which made it a bit heavy, and there was too little sauce relative to the cheese. When it comes to pizza, less cheese is more, and a white pizza that has tomato sauce is a red flag. read more

So I asked if we could slide tables together. Which the busboy said was fine. The waitress walks out and looked at us as if we'd created a giant mess. We arrived at 8:35 and the first words out of her mouth were we close in 1 hour. I looked at my watch confused and asked if they close at 10:00 which she said yes. The attitude was so blatantly rude it was obviously did not want to work. I asked if she'd rather we leave and she said not at all. That was the last interaction with her the rest of the night because she had the busboy handle our table. He did a decent job but obviously was not his job. I had not eaten a Calzone in years so I had one with an addition of mushrooms and pepperoni and it was terrific with an ample portion size. My wife had the eggplant Parmesan and found it to her liking. We both ended with a Cannoli that was outstanding. That dessert can be hit or miss as I would rather pass than eat a subpar Cannoli. We placed the order at 8:09 pm over the phone. They told us 20 to 25 minutes for it to be completed. I got there at 8:27 pm, expecting for the order to be ready. Our server Robert told me that it'll be right out. I didn't get our order until 9:00 pm and while waiting I was trying to get his attention to order a sweet tea. Robert only kept telling us the order will be right out. The place wasn't even that busy, only two tables were actually being used during the 30 minutes I was there. Never had this problem in the past. The food was still amazing but the service was terrible. Waiting for an hour after being told only 20 to 25 minutes for it to be completed is not fun with a hungry family. read more
