This review is for the office staff only. I have been seeing Dr Prensky for a few years now and have nothing but nice things to say about him. Would refer him to anyone! Let that be clear. My review is for office staff. I have been trying to get in touch with the office manager for 8 business days now and told either she will be in "later" or she isn't in at all. I have also asked to speak to a specific staff member who I will not name who has helped me in the past and also told the same BS. She will be in later or she isn't in. This is 8 business days now. Two people. The customer service is HORRIBLE! I have asked to speak to someone in charge in place of this manager who doesn't seem to work there at all and told there is no one else in charge. Hopefully a bad Yelp review will grab someone's attention over there so the customer who has been there for years and had numerous dental work procedures done there can get some help! read more

I'm worse than when I when in. 2 1/2 hrs for a root canal is ridiculous and I know I'm difficult. My tongue hurts, my jaw is killing me worse than anything. I asked if I would be able to chew until my next appointment, I was told yes. I can't I keep icing hoping it will get better. So far no improvement. I'm very upset. I arrived about 45 minutes early because I forgot the time of my appointment. The young lady at the front desk said no problem. Will get you in a little earlier. The dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth was very professional, courteous, and did a great job. Dr. Tarantino came in reviewed my examination with the hygienist and gave me an appointment to have a crown removed to remove some decay underneath it. my second appointment was handled very professionally by the staff and Dr. Tarantino I had no pain through the whole procedure was very satisfied with Dr. Tarantino's examination removal of my crown removal of the underlying decay, and promoted me with a temporary crown until the new one can be fabricated I recommended them to all of my friends and relatives. You won't find better accommodations or more professional, competent dentistry read more

Absolutely amazing! Today was my first time there and I was so nervous because going to dentists had never been a pleasant experience except for today. Dr. Frank Tarantino is so caring and really a true professional, I needed a route canal and I was a nervous wreck but he was so calming and the entire process was absolutely pain free! My husband and I have recently moved out of state. Prior to moving we both saw doctor Tarantino to make sure that our teeth were in good condition as we were still covered under my husband's insurance. Since we have moved we started seeing a new dentist. Now keep in mind I have been a dental assistant for over 40 years so I am quite capable of reading dental x-rays. As it turns out the bone graft and implant that my husband had done with doctor Tarantino is about to fail because it was done improperly. He also had two molars that were extremely decayed and both teeth needed to be extracted. I also have a molar with a large filling that was cracked and the tooth had been bothering me. When I pointed this out to the doctor he looked at it and said yes that's a big filling and left the room. Consequently since we have moved here I now have to have the tooth crowned. Not only was the filling cracked but there was a significant amount of decay on the distal end of the tooth. We are now on Medicare and I have to pay for our dental work out of pocket. Well I will agree that the office Is very aesthetically pleasing that is no excuse for poor quality work. If you do decide to go to this office I would highly recommend seeing his partner as I feel that he is A much better dentist. I hope if you go to this office you have a better experience than my husband and I have had and believe me that I take no pleasure in posting a bad review for anyone but I feel it is my duty to speak the truth as far as my experience is concerned. There are many other things I could say but I feel that this is Enough to hopefully help people when they are trying to make a decision as far as their dental health is concerned. read more

This review is several years overdue but I need to let everyone know how great Dr. Tarantino and his staff are. Several years ago I use to work in the City and I came home to find my boyfriend at the time sitting in the dark because he was in so much pain from a toothache. I'm sure he's not the only person in the world who's favorite isn't going to the dentist so he didn't have a regular one to go to. It's pretty late by the time I get home so let's say it was 7:30pm when I started to panic call any dentist that was open. Around 7:50 I get through to this office where the receptionist put me on hold and said the Dr would stay late for us to just try and get there as soon as possible. Keep in mind, we had no history with this office at all so to offer to do that as a new patient was heart warming. We get there and they immediately take him back and let me fill out the forms so he can be seen as soon as possible. Turns out a filling fell out and he had a tooth infection and needed it pulled. Everything was done that day and they even worked with him on the costs for being a cash patient without insurance. Honestly, I don't like going to the dentist either, I've since moved out of state, but if anyone in the area is looking for a new dentist I cannot recommend Dr. Tarantino more. He was great and made a terrible situation go as smoothly as it could given the circumstances. read more

I have been seeing Frank since I was 21 years old (which is now 7 years). I met Frank through the dentist office that my family has been going to for over 30 years now. When I needed my 2nd root canal at 21, Frank was the one who treated me. It really is quite amazing how different your dentist experience can be depending on your dentist. Before seeing Frank I just thought that no matter what a dentist visit was going to be painful. Luckily for the last couple years Frank has helped me change my dental care and I haven't had any cavities for 2 years now. But before that, it was an annual thing. I have had 3 root canals and more cavaties than I care to count all done by Frank. Other things worthy of mentioning: if you hate novacaine, Franks also your man... I have learnt from him that novacaine shots don't need to be so painful All it takes is patience from your dentist. And I can tell you from numerous years of experience Frank is patient, kind and skilled. It's also worth mentioning that Frank is young and excited about his work, plus he's funny too. And lastly it's also worth mentioning that I live in Manhattan and drive an hour to still see Frank. read more
