We were treated quite rudely by the saleswoman who sold us the table, saying after giving us a scornful look, "Have you not been aware of all the delays everywhere because of supply chain issues?". Then, being overtly annoyed by our inquiry, she tracked the order on her computer and informed us the table would arrive on May 3. Again as the date approached, and we heard absolutely nothing from the store, we went back to the store, and the saleswoman informed us that the order couldn't be filled, and was very evasive as to why. After waiting 3 months for the table, she then said condescendingly, "Yes, it does people time to get over their disappointment. You'll be back to place another order." Well, you can bet we will never return to that overpriced store with horrendous customer service! As I got older, though, I came to appreciate their merchandise and would browse every once in a while in passing. It wasn't until recently, though, when I needed to make a purchase that I actually became a customer. Crate & Barrel sells upscale housewares - including furniture, kitchenware, art, and storage pieces. A family member is getting married soon, and registered here so I decided to make my way over to pick up my gift. The store is one of the larger ones in the mall - taking up two floors with easy access within the store to flow between them. I tried finding the gift I wanted to purchase on my own but couldn't seem to find it on display. Soon after, I was approached by an employee who was able to help me get one from their stock; she also ensured the item was marked as purchased on the registry. Overall, I had a pretty seamless experience at Crate & Barrel. It's out of my price range to be a regular shopper here, but perhaps one day.

The retail price posted on each item is already (supposedly) 40% the original price that is also posted on each item. Note - this is prior to the "sale". Then, when the sale begins, the "sale" price is NOT 40% off regularly posted price. Rather it is 43% off the supposed original price. This equates to the truth being the sale is a 3% discount; NOT a 40% discount. Just something to keep in mind so you aren't tricked into thinking you are getting a 40% discount. You are not. You are getting a 3% discount.

Like previously mentioned, obviously Home Depot with it's spaciousness, carries a lot more, but this place bests HD in just about every other category. I've never actually left here without finding what I was looking for. And unlike HD, the employees here are friendly and are knowledgeable. The staff has always been pleasant, from when I used to come here as a kid with my father, or now whenever I come in there 20+ years later. It's almost a throwback to the way things used to be (and should still be) about them being happy to have your business. The store renovated itself quite nicely during the last maybe 10 years. I'm just grateful this place remains standing when so many have faltered to the bigger chains. A true treasure to the area.
