Foley's had BETTER PRICE than the Supermarket!…read more I decided to buy a Fix-A-Flat tire repair product for my son (who had a flat the week before) I went to my local supermarket, found Fix-A-Flat priced at $14, but figured Foley's might have it...and I like to patronize local businesses when possible. Turned out it was $12, two dollars cheaper, at Foley's, but I realized something else: Auto care, tools, and garden supplies are bread-and-butter to a hardware store, while they're just convenience items for a supermarket: stores like Foley's have to be well-stocked, and have knowledgeable staff who can answer questions. So now I will make Foley's my first choice for tools, because they know them best. But don't worry, supermarkets in Larchmont and Mamaroneck: If Foley's starts selling carrots and cauliflowers, I'll still buy them from you.

The event was very well organized, and the staff were friendly, patient, and helpful with the children. Everything was provided--wood pieces, hammers, nails, screwdrivers, paint, and all the other materials needed to complete the project. Best of all, the workshop is completely free. The projects are fun, hands-on, and a great way for kids to build confidence and creativity. These workshops are offered on a monthly basis, making them a wonderful activity for families. Each month it's a different project. The project for June was a goalie game. The kit includes a cute pin and certificate as well. It's super cute. You have to sign up online through the Home Depot website. Highly recommend!

Jenna is awesome…read more After completing our online prep survey, we visited Jenna's kitchen as a couple. Jenna is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and has great tips and tricks for the experienced cook and patience for those of us who struggle to use a stove knob. Her recipes are prepared beforehand based on your tastes and are really healthy, delicious, and easy to prepare. I felt like I was on a cooking show. Her kitchen is professional and well-stocked with tools. She is a great conversationalist and keeps the session moving at the right pace, based on the meals you are preparing. This was worth every penny and I highly recommend Cook Learn Live, and Jenna, specifically.

The class was not only educational, it was a lot of fun, and definitely a great reprieve from my typical Sunday afternoons spent studying in front of a computer. Jenna did a great job of overseeing the prepping and cooking of the four dishes we had on the menu for the night. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to manage a kitchen full of amateur chefs (half of whom rarely cook at home)...but somehow she managed to do it with grace! Jenna was extremely patient with and open to all of our questions as well. In particular, I thought she did a great job of incorporating the 'why' behind her answers to questions like: What ingredients do you always have on hand? How do you know which spices go well together? What goes into a vegetable stock? I really appreciated how Jenna tailored the class specifically for a group of grad students, focusing on: increasing the nutritional value of our meals, saving time in the kitchen, and all the while cutting down on costs. Three things that I know I DEFINITELY need to do more of! I walked away from the class with an arsenal of new cooking tips, a full belly (plus a few containers of leftovers), and a packet of recipes from the class. Three hours very, very well spent! The saleswoman was exceptional...she listened well, helped us find exactly what we wanted, and super funny and efficient all at once. We had it all ready less than 20 minutes after we entered the store with a few pieces shipped over labor day weekend that arrived earlier than expected. The individually hand-crafted plates and mugs are each a work of art in themselves. I could not be more grateful. My first and only time in a W-S store.
