I waited almost a year before writing this review because I wanted to separate my emotions from the experience and give a fair assessment. While I've had positive experiences with the service department since purchasing my vehicle, my buying experience at Greenway KIA of Franklin left me extremely disappointed. I came to the dealership fully prepared. I had all of my paperwork ready, knew the vehicle I wanted, and put down a significant amount of money with the expectation that the purchase process would be straightforward and transparent. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. My biggest issue was the lack of transparency during the financing process. I was already halfway through signing paperwork before I was ever shown a detailed price breakdown. Even then, there were still two fees that I was charged that weren't listed anywhere in the paperwork I received. To this day, I still don't have a clear explanation of what those charges were. I also felt misled regarding the overall price of the vehicle. I was shopping based on the sticker price, and because I put such a large amount down, I reasonably expected that my down payment would significantly reduce the amount I was financing. Instead, I later realized the total cost of the vehicle ended up being roughly $15,000 more than the sticker price I believed I was purchasing it for. Looking back, I should have slowed the process down and demanded a complete itemized breakdown before signing, but I also believe the dealership had a responsibility to clearly explain every charge before asking for my signature. After the sale, I made multiple attempts to get clarification. I called and emailed the dealership asking for a complete breakdown of the missing fees and additional charges. Unfortunately, I never received meaningful answers--just silence. That lack of communication only reinforced my frustration. To be fair, I have had good experiences with the service department since purchasing my 2026 Kia Sportage. The service staff has treated me well, and I appreciate the work they've done on my vehicle. However, a positive service experience doesn't erase what I believe was a very poor purchasing experience. If you're considering buying a Kia in the area, I would encourage you to shop around and compare other Kia dealerships before making your decision. My experience at Greenway KIA of Franklin left a bad taste in my mouth, and I hope future customers insist on seeing a complete, itemized breakdown of every charge before signing any paperwork. I face a product failure which has not been remediated. I originally complained of a thumping sound when I would slowly turn the Telluride. See the attached complaint 10 Mos. ago at 48,330 miles. Note the additional word "Shocks" added to the complaint which just happened to match A Kia recall via Warranty Extension WTY040. This was for Kia's between the years of 2020 and 2024. This was for the shock absorbers which were not my problem. They misdiagnosed my problem and replaced shocks. I have to travel extensively and have to get to the dealership when I can. The next time I complained it was already over 60,000 10 mos. They gave me the cost to repair (included) and said I was out of warranty. The problem was incorrectly diagnosed with shocks put on and the problem has only gotten worse. I have been renting a car since I originally brought the issue to Kia's attention and there seems to be no progress. I was told the dealer had 24 hours to respond which they didn't - then said they had another 48 hours to respond after the first request. They ignored those calls from Kia and did not respond until July 22, more than a full week from my original outreach on July 14. I am currently in a rental car and have been since we left the car at the dealership for safety reasons. I understand the clunking noise is a known issue and Kia has even published a Service Bulletin for the problem TSB TRA105 which directly impacts my vehicle and exactly references the complaint I had. There is obviously significant drivetrain issues with these vehicles and they might not be safe. As of today I am still waiting on the dealership to respond via, phone, email or text. read more

Pretend this is ZERO STARS. I don't usually write reviews, but congratulations to Kia Greenway of Franklin (and especially Austin) for pushing me to my absolute limit. This has been, hands down, the most infuriating, unprofessional, laughably bad customer service experience I've ever had -- and that's saying something. I brought my Kia in because the AC quit (during the peak of summer!) They seemed great at first -- quick to schedule, waived the diagnostic fee, sent the repair estimate to my insurance. I thought, wow, maybe this won't be a nightmare. I was wrong. My insurance sent them a check for the repair. That was seven. weeks. ago. Since then? Nothing. Not a single call, text, email, smoke signal -- radio silence. I followed up. I texted the service guy (Austin), and he acted like he had no clue what I was talking about. He told me to come in person. Cool -- I asked when I could come in. Guess what? No response. Shocking. My insurance adjuster and I have now called TEN times. When we do manage to get a human, they transfer us to someone else's voicemail, which of course is either full or NEVER returned. It's like a customer service black hole -- once you're in, you're gone forever. So let me get this straight: they have a check from my insurance company, they know they're supposed to fix my car, and they've ghosted me for over a month. That's not just bad business -- it's shady as hell. To everyone at Kia Greenway Franklin: You should be ashamed. I hope this review saves someone else from dealing with your circus of incompetence. I loved my Kia Soul. So much, to the point I'd said to many that whenever my car decided to go, I'd be buying a brand new one off the lot (and I've never bought a brand new vehicle). Last weekend my engine gave out on me, and a mechanic suggested I take it to the dealership in order to look at issues more in depth. I'm open to anything, as I need a car, so I make some calls and get an appointment. The gentleman on the phone when making the appointment told me my car would be looked at by the end of the week (it was Wednesday, so within 3 days). I go to the lengths of getting a tow truck, and getting my car there. We walk up to find out where to drop my car, and the men working the desk tells us where to drop and that they would be in contact with me in 4-6 weeks when they can look at my car. What?! No. I was told 3 days. I was severely fibbed to. Apparently they are 4-6 weeks behind and not a chance. Luckily my kind tow truck company stuck around and helped me get it elsewhere as there was not a chance it was staying there. Never would I recommend this place, or purchasing another Kia. What I ended up learning from the mechanic shop I ultimately towed my car to is engine failure (my car's demise), is incredibly common for my make/model. So as much as I loved my car for the 4 years I had it, can't say I'll ever purchase another. read more

This place is so bad that I had to dust off my old Yelp account just to vent. I'm not sure where to direct my anger. As far as I can tell, my Kia was repaired properly. But not having it while it was in the shop wasn't great. This dealership doesn't have loaners so you're at their mercy without a car. The sad truth is that this place is like any other car dealership in Middle TN. No one likes dealing with car repairs. But, it's part of being a car owner. The issue with this dealership is that trying to get updates on your car is an uphill battle because no one answers the phone. My most recent example is: I would get transferred to sales, to reception, to management, to the BREAK ROOM, and still couldn't get an answer on anything. They said they'd try to get it done same day. It took three days and 2000 dollars to get my car back. I will never buy a Kia again. It's not because the cars are bad. It's because the options for getting them serviced in this area are terrible. If for some reason the receptionist I spoke with earlier reads this, then I apologize once again for speaking out of turn. It's not your fault that this dealership has the efficiency of a screen door on a submarine. Note that the Greenway Kia near Hickory Hollow is just as awful. read more

Absolutely insane how I was treated by Austin in the service center. I left in tears. Accosted me in front of everyone in the waiting room because he was annoyed that I didn't accept their answer that 'they couldn't duplicate the popping my brakes were making' and asked them to look again. Came back and kept saying whoever changed my tires lost one of my lug nuts and if I want one I'll have to pay for it (after I was just informed by the service manager my warranty covered head to toe, the car has barely 4000 miles on it) and I said nobody has touched my car but you guys and he said well we didn't do it and you'll have to pay for it and I said that's not what I was just told and then continued to yell and argue with me til I finally started recording it. Then TRIED TO GIVE ME SOMEONE ELSES CAR AND REFUSED TO BELIEVE IT WASNT MINE . Guess what? That car was missing the lugnut. Not mine. So basically they couldn't duplicate the sound my brakes were making because they weren't even in my car. But he insists my brakes were inspected, but continued to argue and accost me over and over loudly even when I was telling him please leave me alone i just want to leave. Continues to loudly talk shit as I'm trying to get my child in the car. Then sends someone else to my car who is holding onto my window and not letting me leave and telling me to calm down. Terrible, terrible experience. I don't even know if they changed my oil or not like they were supposed to. I just wanted to get out of there so bad. I have recordings I plan to send to management. This location had the exact car i was looking for that other local dealers didn't. I inquired online for a sales person to call and a few hours later I received a call from Hal. I don't know if Hal just didn't want to listen today or just wanted to get rid of me but I gave him a price I was wanting out the door that was $3000 under MSRP. He immediately told me they couldn't get close. I asked him what the best he could do was as the market for new cars has been slow for the dealers and it was the end of the month. He told me he could call me back. An hour later we have the same conversation where he tells me they can't get close but still wouldn't give me an out the door price. I asked him again to let me know what they could do. 2 hours later I called him back as I told him I was interested in same day purchasing and wanted time to get to the dealership at 3:00 pm. He again tells me he can't get close and finally after getting firm he tells me the best he can do is $2000 above MSRP. I asked Hal what the manager said and Hal danced around that question until he told me that he didn't and that he could give me one current incentive without any other deals. Maybe it's because I'm a woman, maybe it's because Hal didn't take me seriously, but either way I would not recommend this location and definitely wouldn't recommend Hal. read more

Their mechanics get the car filthy dirty, my car has a light interior and upon picking it up, the steering wheel/seat/door panel are covered in oil stained handprints, the carpet is dirty with shop dirt, unbelievable. Here's how bad the service department is: I have a free oil change and will never return to use it. I made an appointment for a mileage-specific service. Upon arrival the lack of signage led me to part in the lot and walk inside where a coupe small signs pointed down a couple passages to the service bay. I walked outside and stood there for 20 minutes at the SAME counter as two employees who NEVER even made eye contact. After 20 minutes my friend stood there at the desk and called inside to ask what we should do since nobody would even look at us. She sent someone outside to say they were busy and would be with us soon. My first thought was that they couldn't be too busy since they guy sitting on the stool texting the entire time could have been making some sort of work effort. Finally, after another 10 minutes I was able to check-in. By the way, an appointment here is merely a suggestion--they do not honor appointments. I was told the standard service on my car would take 2.5-3 hours to complete. I was obviously mad and this was most certainly NOT the first time they have had to deal with these situations (one was there as we left). After 1:15 they came to return my car. I drove to the next destination and realized the tires had not been rotated as promised. I then had to drive back from Brentwood to get this done. Who knows if they even changed the oil, or any filters. As long as it's documented the warranty can cover it when the d*** thing blows up. I will not ever buy another Kia or Hyundai based off this poor service. I would not have been mad to begin with if someone had just made eye contact and said "we will be with you as soon as we can." My wife and I bought a new 2023 Telluride early this year after a CONSIDERABLE amount of research. We looked at EVERYTHING: Lexus, GMC, Chevrolet, BMW, etc., but had been really curious about the Tellurides for a few years. The only thing that gave me pause was THIS DEALERSHIP...nevertheless, we made the purchase. Let me start by saying, we absolutely love this car. Love it. Probably our favorite vehicle ever, and we've owned a variety of nice vehicles (Lexus, Mercedes, Volvo, Ford, etc.). However, I really worried about the quality of the service department when our scheduled maintenance intervals occurred. SERIOUSLY considered NOT buying a Kia simply because of the vibes this location gave off. Took it in for its first maintenance interval having been told that the first service would be complimentary. The first interval is 8K miles. What they fail to tell you is you have to get the service in the first 5K miles. Hmmmm...ok? I pick my car up a while later and once I get home I realize the tire rotation I was supposed to receive never happened. Quite frankly, I'm not certain the oil change happened (though I did check to make sure there was something in there). Look, I've seen enough reviews to confirm that I will NEVER, EVER bring my car back here. EVER. Thankfully it was a simple check-up, but there are FAR better places in Franklin to take your vehicle to, even if they aren't a Kia-specific dealership (I'd recommend Christian Brothers Automotive). read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GREENWAY KIA OF FRANKLIN!!! Likely fair to say simply not to do business with Greenway Kia at all. I sold them my car over 2 MONTHS AGO and still HAVE NOT BEEN PAID. They owe me $3,000 dollars, and I have paperwork to show for it. At the time of sale, they promised 2-4 weeks to receive my check in the mail. At this point, they should pay me interest on that $3,000. If the script were flipped, I'd have collections coming after me. I have reached out to Matthew Cooper, who has been my main point of contact, countless times since the sale -- every inquiry about my check has been met with excuses, avoidance, "I'll run it up the chain," blame shifting, and every bit of a lack of professionalism or urgency. Last I was told by the GM is that corporate was overnighting my check to me. That was 3 days ago... still no $$$. To add insult to injury, Dennis Johnson (General Manager) keeps sending me emails offering me full reimbursement for my recent service visit if I will sell them my car. I fully expect that amount to be added to the amount I'm already owed for the car I already sold them 64 days ago as of today. read more

I recently brought my Sorento here for an oil change. When I called the service department to get an appointment and price, I was sent to a call center, which on its own is fine. I brought my car in for appointment and upon checkout, I was given a bill that was $15 greater than my quoted price. When I asked the service manager about the discrepancy, he simply stated "taxes and labor". After asking him for more explanation, he stated "our call center has been quoting incorrect prices for the oil change. We have been trying to get them to fix it." I asked for a price adjustment of the difference, and he said he wouldn't do it as "the transaction already processed". They get 1 star back for not screwing up the oil change. Zero stars. I first purchased a vehicle from here after extremely pushy sales service and making me feel guilty for having them print paperwork. This vehicle was sold to me as a first-time buyer with no spare tire. I bought a 2016 KIA Soul. The end of 2022, my engine completely died, and I got it towed to this location Dec. 7th. They were scheduling 2 weeks out, so I made an appointment for Dec. 19th. I got no update that day after multiple texts confirming my appointment, so I called. I was told by the woman at the front office that the appointment should not have been made -- they were scheduling 2 weeks out. Dec 19th was 2 weeks after I called for the appointment. After that, there were about 4 back-and-forth's about someone looking at my car, then not being in, then being on lunch/not available to talk, and then xyz. Jan. 3rd, I was told that my car needed a new engine after a week of no responses. Jan 9th came around with no response to a text, and then Jan 13th, I expressed my concern again and was told KIA approved my engine replacement. I was never told before this date that my diagnostics had even been ran, which is what the DEC 19TH appointment that they "didn't have time for" was made for. No ETA on backordered engines on the 1/23. On Feb 6th, I asked to confirm that I am on the list for a new engine. They said yes. I have not heard one word since, except the manager will still continuously email me about buying the car, which I have called about and they say can only be done once the engine is replaced. I went to grab pictures from my car here after a month or two of being in there, and they made me walk around the entire building in about 40 degree weather, walk out to my car without the keys because they "unlocked" it, proceeded to close the service door I walked to my car to alone, and it was locked. I had to walk back and knock on a garage-like service door for them to unlock it, unlock my car again, bring the keys back, and proceed to leave the building with zero communication. This place has had my car for 3 months now, has no communication skills, lies to customers to brush them off, and is extremely disorganized. Got here this evening stressed after my sons car blew up on 840 and he was literally a basket case of emotions and nerves. We spoke to the manager Scott who put us with Alex and not only did they solve our car problems but they also got a car for my son that was safe and exactly what he wanted. It was the smoothest transaction we ever did and Scott and Alex stayed after closing to get everything perfect. I can't thank them enough for taking care of my son and making it where I can sleep tonight without worry of my sons emotional state fro bus world falling down around him. When your son called you an emotional wreck because his car blew up on the side of HWY 840 on the way to work, feeling like his life was over, you first make sure he is physically ok. Then you pick him up and take him to Franklin Kia. Scott was on the case, worked he numbers and fit in in a car with a payment that was affordable. He then put Alex on the job to find the car my son wanted that fit the budgeted price. He found the perfect car 3k$ under target, then Zach was on the case to get all the paperwork signed and he even hooked him up with oil changes for a year. The first thing he asked me was if we were lost. He then seemed to take personal offense when I said that we had gone to other lots already that morning to shop around. About a year ago my sister bought a car from this dealership and had a terrible experience. They didn't even have the car on site, when they said they did. 4 hours later and a lot of time wasted she got the car. A couple weeks ago I was also looking to lease a Kia, but tried to avoid this specific location as the reviews match the experience my sister had a year prior. The car I found for the best price was at this location so we hoped for a better experience and came. A few hiccups in pricing that didn't match their website, but with pushing them, was still was able to get the car I wanted. Signed all contracts and walked away with the car. Now I've received messages from various salesmen / sales managers saying that the contract I signed was incorrect, the monthly payments are actually higher, and I need to resign paperwork. Currently speaking with my lawyer seeing what I am required to do, considering all contracts were signed by both parties. Wish I could take back the 10/10 review I gave them, that they asked for, because now my time is being wasted. Frustrating, and needless to say, will not be coming back for any type on maintenance my car may need in the future. read more

This is honestly the worst dealership ever, very disappointed with the service, and if I had the option I would put 0 stars down. My car broke down in Columbia, and this was the dealership it was towed to. I'm a college student who lives in Georgia and I was trying to get home but my car had different plans. I have a Kia Forte 5 2017, and I've never had any issues with it, and I love my Kia dealership back at home. However, it was June 2nd, 2022 when my car was towed to the Franklin Kia Dealership. For the 10 months it's been in the shop, there has been absolutely no communication. I have one phone call from someone in the service department in September only saying the car still wasn't fixed. I went to go see my car in September, where it was outside in their parking lot with all the wires out. My car is under warranty for things like this, however, after months of no communication from them and getting nowhere, I was able to get Kia to set up getting a rental car for me until it was fixed. They were able to fix it in a month. Wow, that's surprising they could fix it that fast now that they were paying for my rental lol. It only gets better though because they failed to tell me that they fixed the car, and decided to call enterprise (the place my rental car came from) and tell them that they were now going to stop paying for my car. I never was told by Kia that my car was done, never was told that they were now going to stop paying for the rental. So now they expect me to pay for the rental that they set up, and they expect me to pay for the car that has been in their shop for way over half a year even though it's under warranty because "a mouse chewed through the wires, which is why it broke down and the warranty doesn't cover that." It has been in their parking lot for months with the wires hanging out everywhere. Funny how they just now found that out after months of staring at those wires. Unbelievable, horrible service. Will never be coming here again or buying a Kia and I give you the advice to do the same. The workers here don't care about you, and take advantage of you if you're young & know not much about cars. "Management" quoted me 65k for the used car not only is that over priced, but that same car is listed at 55k on their website. Like you have the audacity to quote me some unreasonable and unheard of price that's some baloney. Avoid this place like a plague unless you want to be scammed. They try to make you guarantee you'll buy a car today if they can find you a car you like at a reasonable price. So beware of their deceptive sales tactics. Service is terrible. Understaffed. Service department is always busy, running behind, and overworked. They're always apologizing for the wait, the lengthy time for repairs, for everything.
