Took personal time off of work after scheduling an appointment online with BJ's optical only to…read moreshow up and be told they didn't have my appointment on file. Showed the receptionist my confirmation email and she blamed it on faulty equipment. She said thank god there wasn't another patient waiting and that it would just be a few minutes while the doctor finished up with another patient. Strangely she let me know that she texted the doctor to let them know I was here. Wouldn't you usually just pop your head in the exam room to let a doctor know that? After waiting for what ended up being 20 minutes and asking how long a typical appointment would take, I realized that unless the doctor showed up in that moment, I would not be able to make it to work on time. Frustrated, I let the saleswoman know that I would have to reschedule. As I walked past the exam room, I couldn't help but notice that the door was ajar with the lights off and nobody inside. This confirmed what I had began to think when she told me she was texting the doctor, and that was that the doctor was never there to begin with and was either late or called in to do my appointment. I just wonder how long they would have let me wait, causing me to be late to my own job which at my place of employment is not acceptable. Was hoping that my fear of going to BJ's for an eye exam would be met with a pleasant experience. Instead, I used 4 hours of my personal time at work in order to have a terrible experience. I have been to several ophthalmologists and Dr Alfred treated an issue that other doctors missed. I have never been to a more disorganized, unsympathetic, unprofessional medical office in my life!…read more Not only have I had to wait at least an hour past my appointment start time to actually see my provider there, once he does come in to see me, he can't get out of there fast enough, and never spends more than 10 minutes with me, always making me feel rushed. While I am waiting in the exam room for a technician to start the appointment, they leave all those doors open and I've overheard conversations about other patients, about myself, and staff, and how awful their day is going or how rude or upset the people are they are dealing with! On top of that, I have had so many times that the staff has dropped the ball on completing a request to get a medication pre-approval through my insurance and sent to the pharmacy for me. I've had to play the middle-man between the office, the insurance company, and the pharmacy for over a month now, only to find out that the office has not even submitted the requests I keep asking them to do but they keep placating me over the phone telling me they've already done it when they haven't! Save yourself the the frustration and wasted time and go somewhere else. It's unfortunate because I had heard good things about the doctors here but with so many things wrong with the office, it's just not worth my time or my health to go here.
