Been coming to Frank's for years. In addition to a great traditional haircut, he is absolutely phenomenal when I bring the grandkids for their haircuts! He has such a calming effect (and of course they do know that they'll get a lollipop if they behave!). Unlike some of the other reviews I see posted here, he DOES listen to the customer's requests. No need to spend a ridiculous amount of money at some of these "salons" when Frank provides just what most guys need - a great traditional haircut! read more

Do not recommend. Barber doesn't listen to what you ask for. I asked for a little trim and he cut everything off. If you are looking for a good barber shop go to Allendale. read more

Maybe the only thing better than the haircut is the no cell phone rule and the good-natured way Frank enforces it--maintaining an old-fashioned barber shop experience with good conversations made possible by a temporary escape from the technology that makes many of us nostalgic for the good old days. Highly recommended for a great haircut. And the barber will even hold your place in line while you go outside to answer a call--like he did for me. read more

First time customer and had a great experience! Frank and Chris were welcoming when I came in and I was in a chair getting a cut from Chris within minutes. Very professional, thorough, and pleasant to be around. Very happy with the result. Cash only, no appointments, just come and wait and you'll be glad you did. Decent haircut and a clean shop. One quibble ... I was the only customer in the shop and my wife called. I took her call as I knew she was trying to find her way around Manhattan and was likely lost, and within 30 seconds, the owner jumps out of his chair to stand a few feet from me and alerts me to his strict policy on cellphone use in the shop, which is prohibited. I get it. Had there been another customer in the shop, I would completely understand. But the shop was empty, and this guy had to act like a complete douchbag about it, when clearly I was impacting nobody else (other than perhaps him). SO, decent haircut, but shitty customer treatment gets a 2-star rating. UPDATE: I was about to reluctantly go back for another cut, which I had mixed feelings about, as I really don't like to reward a business when they don't treat their customer the right way, but I did like the cut. I was driving through Westwood and saw a sign for a Mr Barbershop, which looked like a modern version of an old school barber shop. I decided that if I could avoid a return to Frank's, where the owner was very disrespectful of me, I would gladly do so. I ended up getting the best haircut I've had in years, and an experience that treated me as a respected customer. What a difference in attitude and professionalism. Sorry Franks, but you lost a customer due to your shitty customer attitude. I would gladly recommend Mr Barbershop in Westwood for anyone who wants a terrific cut at a fair price and excellent customer service and treatment. read more

Frank's is best, I hardly ever have a long wait and he provides a great cut every time. New location is in Ramsey by the train station.

This is owned by the same Frank that owns the Park Ridge shop. Its kind of a hole in the wall and hard to see from the main road. The owner was cutting a guys hair in front of me and the two had alot to talk about. Unlike the other shop though, theres a nice little mini bar where the coffee pot is, although I didnt indulge. I hope he stays in business here for a while, but I did overhear Frank saying it might have to close it down. read more

We came to the Barber shop in a bind this morning after our scheduled appointment at another salon was cancelled (and we weren't notified!). My son, 2yrs old, was in desperate need of a haircut and Frank did not disappoint! My husband has been a client for a long time and now my son will be, too! We only had a short wait, and Frank made quick work with a squirmy little boy. Thank God for the trains and lollipops! THEN, I didn't realize it was cash only, and Frank was more than kind to let me run to the bank and come back to pay him after we were done.
