This is an easy review for me to write because I absolutely love this business. I stumbled into Ideal many years ago looking for a good haircut at a fair price. Once I met Paul and saw how he ran his business I knew I would be a long time customer. Call me nostalgic but there justaren't many old school businesses left like this..... In recent years Yvonne has been cutting my hair. She is professional and its been great getting to know her and her kids. I have been a loyal customer of Ideal Barbershop for 16 years. It is a very friendly place and the atmosphere there, along with the superb service, makes it worth the wait for anything you need. Ivonne has been cutting my hair for 12 years now and even with all the customers that come in, she remembers how I want it cut without my telling or her asking. I've seen her do the same with countless other customers. There are times where she is by herself with many customers and I see her work hard, always with a smile, and dedicated to give the customer what they want and need. Attempted to get a haircut on a Tuesday afternoon walked in and it was empty but waited like a gentleman. One person walked in thinking I was the barber but said otherwise he left then a salesman thinking the same stated the same. Female walked from the back stating the owner wasn't in and gave me an annoyed look stating she's on a lunch break and it'll be a half an hour so I just left. She's probably on lunch break majority of the day , majority of the week. read more

Been coming here for 15+ years. Started with me and Pauly (RIP) giving me a haircut. Have been taking my 2 boys since they were 5 and now as teenagers they are still coming here. Yvonne is wonderful, caring and makes sure your hair looks A+++. Highly recommend this place ! read more

I started going to Ideal Barber Shop in 2007 while working for Suffern PD. I have since left the area, but still come back to get my haircut, even though I live 30 minutes away. When you find a place that gives you the perfect cut and treats you well, its always worth the trip. Ivonne is a fantastic barber and highly recommended. read more

Families have been going to Ideal Barber Shop for generations. They certainly know what they are doing. My brother-in-law recently visited from Florida and was surprised at the extras you get, such as shaving the neck with a straight edge razor. Tell them or bring in a picture of the cut you want, and they can do it at a very reasonable price. read more

Anything other than an old man's haircut, then this is not the place for you. I asked for a basic fade and received a buzz all the way around, same length. Cuts are supposed to be $13 but they charged me $14 because a fade is "special". Id never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Great barber shop. All the barbers are extremely skilled. In my case, as I get older and lose hair it gets harder to find a barber who can properly taper between short and long hair. These guys know what they're doing. read more
