Whether you need auto repair, parts, or therapy because you scratched your mother's car and wanted…read moreto fix it without her finding out, these guys will do whatever they can. I might be 33-years-old but you are never too old to be scared of your mother when you ding the car on a concrete pole in the parking garage in Freeport (seriously guys...who designed that?). Like any person of low to average intelligence with a vivid imagination, I thought I could buff a two-foot long and three-inch wide scratch on the back wheel well. God had other plans for me and decided to teach me both honesty and humility at the same time. So I showed up to VIP asked how to fix this and was told that while I could try scratch remover my best bet was to fess up and cash out. It was like "Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers" came back from the archives and gave me life advice and also helped with the car. On another note: she wasn't too upset.

The first person I asked said sure, but come to the other register. I went to the other register asked for change, which seems reasonable considering that we were about to purchase tires. This other guy was rude and condescending towards me, said we don't give change here, only to customers... which we were about to be... his bad attitude lost him a big sale. Too bad for VIP tires...check who you hire...

Don't ever go here. This is probably the worst company that I have ever dealt with, from Michael…read moreBroderick, the CEO, down to the district manager, down to the store manager. The last time we were in to have our winter tires turned over for summer tires, Tire Warehouse did the work. However they gave us the wrong tires when they returned our winter set. So when we went to put the snow tires back on this fall, they said these tires don't fit. I said these were the tires you gave me so you need to make this right. The store manager said he can't do anything about it. "Call corporate." I spent the next month, everyone other day speaking to their call center, caught in a loop of "we'll call you back." Finally I reached out to the CEO on LinkedIn. He never wrote me back. But he did view my profile so I know he received the letter. At long last, after more than a dozen calls begging Tire Warehouse to do what was right, they finally said they have tires but I'd have to pay to have them installed. I picked up the tires and decided to take them elsewhere to be installed. There's absolutely no way this company should be in business. There's integrity and there's not. And it either starts at the top or it doesn't. Clearly at Tire Warehouse (Monro), Michael Broderick has set the example.

As I slowly rolled into a nearby parking lot, I immediately called AAA for a tow (these guys are the local AAA towing company). I didn't know what the issue was but my car was overheating and the engine light had gone on. Arghhhhh!!! It was 4:30 on Sunday and I knew, that in Maine, there are no late night car repair shops (I'm from Ohio where you can find someone to work on your car until midnight). I opened the hood and sure enough the belt to my water pump had broken (later I learned the water pump had gone bad causing the belt to split). So I sat there and waited. A series of events happened that don't pertain to this business, but eventually the tow truck driver showed up (I think his name was Bobby?) and he helped me out. We ended up taking my car to their repair shop. I was going on faith that I would have a good experience and that they could get my car fixed ASAP, the next day, so we could hit the road. I knew nothing about these guys other than they were close local and that "Bobby" worked for them. Well it wasn't quite ASAP, but they did get my car running the next day and they did a great job making sure it was road worthy again. I had a good experience and would return to them for more mechanic needs.
