    Salad with blue cheese dressing

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. They have awesome lunch specials so I recommend visiting around that time. I got the 2 pizza slice special and it came with a small salad! Everything was really good and the pizza was delicious! The slices were also super large! Our waitress was awesome. I can't wait to come back.

This is the second time I visited Frank's Italian Restaurant. The first time was a year ago. I came in with my husband and a couple of friends. We had a good experience. Our second time is as good as the first. We were greeted as soon as we entered and we're seated at a booth. Our waitress came to get our drinks order as soon as we got seated. This is a family friendly, no frills, reasonably priced and big portions place. I ordered the steak Stromboli and ended up bringing half of it home. There's a good amount of meat and cheese in it. Yummy! My friend ordered Philly steak sandwich and also ended up bringing leftover home. Good food and price is right! Will definitely be back!

    "Daily specials"

High expectations were crushed with an unreasonable amount of cheese, an undercooked pizza and a staff that was rude and unwilling to honor the "daily special" for a large two topping pizza and two drinks. FYI Kitchen Staff & manager were not wearing masks. https://www.franksdanville.com/about1 I called in my order for to go and requested a the daily dinner special which was a large two topping pizza with two drinks. I asked for half pineapple half pepperoni cooked well done. This is my standard order because my daughter loves pineapple and I like pepperoni so it's an easy win. I always ask for well done pizzas because for some reason or another New York style pizzas (outside of nyc) tend to be undercooked. Not to mention I like it when my crust is a bit crunchy and the bubbles rising on my cheese. (Did you know that cheese bubbles are considered deficiencies of a pizza - I didn't) Following my order, I was called back by Franks Staff and was told that The daily special wasn't available. The staff provided no explanation as to why. My order was then changed to just a two topping pizza with pepperoni and pineapple. However as you can see in the picture the pepperoni was sadly, left out. Womp womp. (I've been to Frank's a few times and this is the second time that they have not honored their own specials, without explanation) As for the New York style pizza, they're sauce is sweet much like a New York style sauce but their crust was a bit dried out. This happens when you leave your doe out too long in the fridge or there isn't enough water or I'm sure there are other explanations but I'm not a pizza expert. Which is also why I'm here buying a pizza. When I arrived I immediately was greeted by the hosting staff but was surprised to see that not a single person working behind the counter were wearing masks. I saw more than five staff members to include the manager not wearing one. I paid for my pizza, went home, cooked it a bit more and ate it.

A wonderful dining experience! Our waitress, Brandy was amazing. She as courteous and professional. Very attentive, too. We ordered pizza and steak and cheese, and a side salad. They were all perfect....especially FRESH ingredients. Great Ranch dressing. The Italian sausage on the pizza was delicious, too. The restaurant was almost full...a further testament to the restaurant's popularity. They have certainly EARNED their stellar reputation. Now, if lazy Americans will get off their rear-ends and help this restaurant and others by joining the wait staff and kitchen crew! Thanks to Frank's for a wonderful meal!

This place is amazing! The food is authentic and the staff very friendly! Sydney was a true delight. The portions are huge and the "to die for" rolls are only .25 a piece for extra. A total steal for these beautiful balls bathed in butter and garlic!

Good pizza and sandwiches. Prompt, friendly servers. And it looks like an Italian restaurant should. Good solid place to eat.

Very good pizza and a good atmosphere. Sitting outside is nice and their variety of pizza styles is a good change of pace as well.

We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. The pizza was good, no complaints. After the bill was brought to the table there was some confusion as to whether we paid the server or had to go to the take out window to pay. After waiting a while we had a show to go to, so just went to the take out window to pay. I asked an employee along the way and she seemed confused. I'm not sure if she understood my request. There seems to be a bit of confusion here. Half the menu and restaurant is Italian and Mexican. Spanish speaking artists pipped into an Italian decorated dining room. With mostly Spanish speaking employees. It's like they can't make up their mind who they want to be. Honestly I have no issue with that. Just seemed odd. The importance is food, hospitality and price. Would I return if I make a trip to Danville,Va. Yeah. Yeah I would. I hope by then they have figured out how to speak up and communicate better with their customers. Don't skip them if your in town. It's worth a visit.

The calamari over cooked to being near burnt with squid so gummy it was unpalatable. The cheeseburger sub barely had cheese but did include 2 slices of semi-cooked bacon which I removed because it was so undercooked. The burger was so over cooked I gave up after eating barely a 1/3 of a half of a 10" sub. Took it off the stale to burned sub roll hoping ketchup could salvage it, but I was wrong. The veal parmigiana sub had the same sub roll but my friend was so hungry he ate half. The veal was tasteless except for the sauce which really didn't have much flavor either. Our server still has not adapted to speaking with a mask on so we had to have her repeat everything and mostly just gave up on hearing her. She also couldn't total our check to pay at the register or gauge a tip. And she couldn't remember boxes for the one good part of the meal, the French fries. I've had the takeout and never been unhappy, but this dine in experience was one of the worst I've had anywhere in recent years. I do hope it was just an off night.

Today's barbecue chicken pizza was almost a hit, but the service was a huge miss. First, the pizza. A great barbecue chicken pizza has the right balance of ingredients: a smoky barbecue sauce that isn't too sweet, chunks of chicken, fresh toppings, and a crust that can actually support everything on top of it. This one had a good barbecue sauce, just way, way too much of it. So much sauce that the crust got soggy and I had to eat it with a fork. I also had an unfortunate accident involving my brand-new chartreuse sweater. The pizza had thinly sliced red onion, which was a good choice, but that was it. No bacon or anything else to add a little texture. The onion, chicken, and barbecue sauce worked well together. The problem was the amount of sauce. It completely overwhelmed the crust. I call it an almost hit because the flavor was good, but no, I would not order it again. Dellano's Pizza Kitchen is a little hole-in-the-wall pizza place in Danville. It's narrow and a bit dark inside. There are about nine or ten booths and tables along one side, with the bar and cooking area on the other. If you walk straight to the back, there's a small patio that can accommodate small groups. I've had two meal mishaps since trying this place, and I'm just not going back. One involved a salad that I paid extra to have egg added to. When I got back to my apartment, I discovered the egg was scrambled. Who puts scrambled eggs on a salad? Now I could forgive the botched salad and the soggy pizza as isolated incidents, but the service was crazy. Our group was there to celebrate the birthday of one of my colleagues. I had a service person coming to my apartment and needed to leave quickly to make it home on time. I called ahead to order my barbecue pizza. The first person who answered the phone was very willing to take my order, but put me on hold to verify that my group had a reservation at this location. I knew they were, but she wanted to check. She was supposed to come back and take my order, but instead a gentleman picked up the phone and asked if he could help me. I repeated the story and explained that I wanted to order ahead but eat the pizza there with my group. He informed me that they do not allow call ahead orders for dine in customers. I paused, thinking he might realize how silly that sounded. He didn't. So I simply hung up, called back, and ordered it as takeout. Then when I arrived I picked up my takeout pizza, joined my group on the patio, and ate it there anyway. What made this even stranger is that I have ordered ahead and eaten there before. In fact, our group has done exactly that in the past. Maybe there was a misunderstanding. Maybe there is a policy nobody else knows about. Either way, nobody seemed to know what the actual rule was. Suggestion: If you decide to try the barbecue chicken pizza, ask for light barbecue sauce or get the sauce on the side. Tip: Play it safe and order the Philly Cheesesteak sub
