My wife and I went here with a friend. As soon as we walked in we were seated. And as soon as we were seated, Brandy, our waitress immediately took our drinks order. So far so great! Looking around, the restaurant is nice, but no frills. That isn't bad though because we wanted a place with a casual atmosphere, large portions, and reasonable prices. And we got all three. The restaurant was clean, and as soon as people left their yable was immediately bussed. That made it nice because it's gross to me to have tables around a restaurant that have no people but have dirty dishes on them. I ordered chicken parmigiana with ziti. I took half home because of the large portion size. I had a bock beer that was very good and ice cold. There is no reason to give Frank's anything but five stars. We will eat here again. read more

Love this place. The food is pretty good and the sub almost reminds me of me of being in Baltimore lol. They tend to be super busy but the servers are attentive. It's your normal spot where you can go have a meal with family or friends. They have a fully stocked bar also. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. They have awesome lunch specials so I recommend visiting around that time. I got the 2 pizza slice special and it came with a small salad! The food is always delicious and we like the atmosphere by the river. However there is one HUGE complaint. I DO NOT agree with their policy that you cannot bring your own water in. I can understand that they wouldn't want drinks, but WATER?!?! I drink well water for most of my meals. And because I drink water daily, I can tell the difference in taste. All water is not equal!! I HATE restaurant water filled with who knows what kind of chemicals toxic to my system. So instead of being allowed to bring my own water in and be done with the drink situation, they would rather waste the time and water to fill up a glass and have the waitress use her time wastefully bringing it to me. Then there is another glass to wash using up more wasted water to clean it and time of the dishwasher person. Geeezzzz They need to change that policy!!!! read more

This is the second time I visited Frank's Italian Restaurant. The first time was a year ago. I came in with my husband and a couple of friends. We had a good experience. Our second time is as good as the first. We were greeted as soon as we entered and we're seated at a booth. Our waitress came to get our drinks order as soon as we got seated. This is a family friendly, no frills, reasonably priced and big portions place. I ordered the steak Stromboli and ended up bringing half of it home. There's a good amount of meat and cheese in it. Yummy! My friend ordered Philly steak sandwich and also ended up bringing leftover home. Good food and price is right! Will definitely be back! read more

NOPE! I paid $17 for 'Shrimp Scampi' which was just raw noodles in butter water. No sauce. No seasoning. No cheese. Oh, and the pasta was entirely wrong too. Shrimp Scampi uses Angel Hair, not Linguine. I swear the cook in the back was having a shit day to make me pay for the dog food I was served. The fries seemed to be stale as well, and with ZERO seasoning. Seriously. No salt or pepper. The sub I got was DRENCHED in grease, and as I did with my pasta, I had to drain the container as to not get shit all over my car. These people truly don't care, not at all, and it shows. Not to mention I like it when my crust is a bit crunchy and the bubbles rising on my cheese. (Did you know that cheese bubbles are considered deficiencies of a pizza - I didn't) Following my order, I was called back by Franks Staff and was told that The daily special wasn't available. The staff provided no explanation as to why. My order was then changed to just a two topping pizza with pepperoni and pineapple. However as you can see in the picture the pepperoni was sadly, left out. Womp womp. (I've been to Frank's a few times and this is the second time that they have not honored their own specials, without explanation) As for the New York style pizza, they're sauce is sweet much like a New York style sauce but their crust was a bit dried out. This happens when you leave your doe out too long in the fridge or there isn't enough water or I'm sure there are other explanations but I'm not a pizza expert. Which is also why I'm here buying a pizza. When I arrived I immediately was greeted by the hosting staff but was surprised to see that not a single person working behind the counter were wearing masks. A wonderful dining experience! Our waitress, Brandy was amazing. She as courteous and professional. Very attentive, too. We ordered pizza and steak and cheese, and a side salad. They were all perfect....especially FRESH ingredients. Great Ranch dressing. The Italian sausage on the pizza was delicious, too. The restaurant was almost full...a further testament to the restaurant's popularity. They have certainly EARNED their stellar reputation. Also need to use leaf lettuce instead of shredded,that fall out along with onions,okay for subs,but not on sandwiches.They pack the fries on and against the sandwich, makes bread too moist. Separate the fries from the sandwich please, or in a different package. Their website let's you leave emails, I complained about above, but never heard back,so tells me owner doesn't care about customer, so in return I'll buy sandwiches somewhere else. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from Franks, and I'll be honest and say this while hanging my head, but it's because I just didn't think Danville had anything great to offer in the food department. I was mistaken. Not only was the service awesome (I believe Brittany was our server. Two thumbs up) but the food (and we ordered a ton) was just as I would have wanted it to be. The only problem was that all of our orders were drenched heavily in sauce, so much that I could not see my ravioli, I had to fish it out of the bottom of the bowl. Wish I'd taken pics of the menu items I've had; veal we well as chicken parmigiana, pizza, cheesesteak, cheese fries...yeah, I've touched on the menu...everything both eat in it take out has been excellent. I saw one complaint about smoking...she failed to mention it's only on the outside deck where this is allowed, and as a smoker I appreciate the accommodation. With the screens and air circulation it's not bothersome because I hate smoke while I'm eating. And service? This is our 2nd time here. I got the veggie pizza slice and was pleased that there was no problem omitting green onions on it. The crust was cooked perfectly. I hesitated to order pizza cos I have been so extremely turned off by the pizza from my hometown of Milton NC. Deliciousioso!!! My hubby got the chicken parmesan sub. He loved it! And best of all was the order of hand cut and fried chips! Best I've ever had. The wait staff, Buddy, was attentive but not in my face. The service was "okay" my sister had an issue with her burger tasting freezer burnt and looking like they coated it with cheese and slapped mustard and ketchup on the top and bottom, they forgot the bacon, the waitress after telling Her that it's what she ordered......she took it back to get the bacon out on... She comes back with a PILE of bacon topped on it. The burger just looked disgusted. She took a bite and realized it tasted even worse. We all tried the burger and it honestly was nasty.... She eventually asked to see a manger and he was sweet and let her get a sub but as he was walking away we heard the waitress say "is she happy yet"........ Everyone was super nice to our faces and we all laughed about everything and talked about stuff but we could hear the comments from behind our backs....
