I walked in and I asked for recommendations and the kind staff said they sell more catfish sandwiches than anything else, so I had to try it of course. The cat fish sandwich had an extremely generous portion of fish. It had a warm and not too spicy taste but it definitely left a punch. The fry was not greasy at all and I would say that there is not too much breading. This catfish was fried to order and it came out piping hot. Came by on a weekday lunch, and it was very quiet with only a couple of other people in the restaurant. This place is definitely more on the casual end, and there aren't any actual servers. I ordered at the register and got my food pretty quickly - I ordered the Bang Bang Chicken and Chorizo, which was good! We decided to try Nana Karen's on Main today because it was close to where we were picking up a book at the Dog Eared Page and we were hungry! The lady running the counter super friendly and outgoing. I looked around to get an idea of what others were eating and saw rice, wraps, a fish sandwich. The rice looked great so I order the Bang Bang CHICKEN and CHORIZO. It was amazing! I got mom the HABERACHI with Chicken and Shrimp. Portions were large and we brought over half of it home to eat later! There was a nice flow of customers so you could tell everyone else was enjoying their food as well. Tea refills were free and served with a smile. I was told Lemonade refills are free as well, but not soda. Bathrooms were clean well kept. Day trip to Danville, VA. Never been before so leaned on Yelp to find a great lunch spot. Nana Karen's on Main was at the top of the list so we stopped by to give it a try. What a cool spot with all that Main Street charm. I got the fried tomato BLT with potato salad and my wife had the hand breaded chicken tenders and fries. Holy smokes!!! Everything was fantastic. Literally everything! All very fresh and homemade. The cook is not a cook. He's a chef! Like a legit chef. The tomato set the BLT off! The chicken was super juicy and the potato salad was the best I've had. Really wish Nana'a Kitchen was closer to home. But if in Danville, you have to check this joint out. read more

Dustin has done a great job. I feel bad for waiting so long to visit his B&M but it's just as good as his food truck was and definitely is worth the visit. I had the catfish sandwich and my dining partner had the chicken. The wait time was a little long but we weren't in a hurry and it was a little bit after the lunch rush so they get a pass. I think because of a combination of factors (thunderstorm - seats changed, blueridgerockfest attendees - more orders than usual) our order got lost and we ended up waiting closer to 50 minutes before eating. The Omelette with hash was ok, but way Overcooked for my taste. The hash was good and it is stuffed full into the dish. I would also think there should have been more cheese. I ate about 1/2 of it and left the rest. My wife had the French Toast which was very good. It was cooked perfectly and was not too sweet. The bill came to $35 or so plus tip. If you like the downtown scene and the "hipster" atmosphere, I would recommend it. If you plan on getting there at 8, I'd wait till 8:30 anyways. Lastly, I thought the staff was very pleasant.
