Was seated quickly, but I'm not sure if the hostess said a word to us or not. My wife didn't hear her say anything. Server was nice and very accommodating. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. The pizza was good, no complaints. After the bill was brought to the table there was some confusion as to whether we paid the server or had to go to the take out window to pay. After waiting a while we had a show to go to, so just went to the take out window to pay. I asked an employee along the way and she seemed confused. I'm not sure if she understood my request. There seems to be a bit of confusion here. Half the menu and restaurant is Italian and Mexican. Spanish speaking artists pipped into an Italian decorated dining room. With mostly Spanish speaking employees. It's like they can't make up their mind who they want to be. Honestly I have no issue with that. Just seemed odd. The importance is food, hospitality and price. Would I return if I make a trip to Danville,Va. Yeah. Yeah I would. I like this place; love there pizza there to go is the better option. Eating inside is a little packed and somehow feels like time goes so slow. This time we got there garlic cheese bread which is amazing we always get it every time we go here. My husband and I got two different types of Stromboli he got veggie and I got Italian sausage. Everything at this popular local Italian joint is consistently good, including the service. Be sure to get there early during peak times to avoid waits. Both calzones and strombolis are excellent. When I don't order one of the two, I go with two slice pizza special or the spaghetti with meat sauce. The pizza is a bit greasy but aways tasty, especially the crust. Be aware that the the spaghetti is topped with melted provolone cheese, chicken parmesan style; I like this but if you don't simply ask that it be excluded. The salads are all fresh and the dressings seem home made. Dining area is roomy and comfortable. Sanitation scores are consistly high. I'd say that it us one of the top two Italian joints in a town of limited choices. read more

I would rate their Pizza 7.5/10. I had a sausage, onion, and pepperoni, it was good but I think the sauce is a little weak, could be a little richer so it's not lost in the other ingredients. The toppings, especially the onions, needed to be spread out more evenly. read more

My mother and I went in for lunch. I am a homosexual in my 30's, and I am proud to say that I am unabashedly myself. Unfortunately pride cannot compete with the southern "charm" I encountered at Nonni's. Upon entering, we followed the directions on the sign and sat ourselves. We were ignored for 12 minutes then told by one waitress that she would be there soon. The same waitress then took the check of a table, handed menus and took drink orders of 2 individuals who had just walked in, and proceeded to have a conversation with a table nearby. I got up and walked to the door, to which the waitress said "she'll be with you soon" and pointed to no one in particular. We will not be back to Nonni's. I ordered the chicken marsala, it arrived looking like a grey soup of mostly plain pasta and a few pieces of what looked like boiled chicken here and there. Mushrooms were obviously from a can. No marsala wine taste at all. sauce was basically a broth. It was overpriced and ridiculously disappointing. My companion had the chicken parmesiana, it arrived with very little chicken, which was mushy. Mostly common plain pasta. Marinara sauce from a can. Extremely disappointing. We ordered a cheese pizza to go. It didn't have enough cheese, the two inches next to the outer crust were just pizza sauce, no cheese. Worst $63 I've ever spent at a restaurant. Will never return. I would love to give positive review but we didn't get to eat. We are new to the area and are always looking to try new places. Unfortunately we did not have that chance. We walked in to a sign that said "please seat yourself" so we did. Only maybe 1/4 of the tables were being utilized so they were not very busy. After we sat for 10 plus minutes watching waitresses walk all around us and talking to tables around us we decided to leave. No one even said as much as "hello" to us when we left 3 of the waitresses watched us go and still said nothing. Best Italian restaurant in Dville! They have the best steak and cheese in town period! Service is fast and friendly and anyone who has ever dined in can tell you they keep that place sooo clean! Wow. I picked a seat. The waitress had someone come out and wipe the table. It was fine for me but they are very clean in this place. So the waitress was extremely nice. Very fast, very attentive. I told her a wanted spaghetti and she showed me choices and also explained the difference in the meals. The spaghetti was amazing. She offered up Parmesan cheese, that is rare these days. Me and my boyfriend went here one weekend, it was busy and understaffed. With that being said it took awhile to get are order taken. But our waitress was very nice, and made sure our drinks were filled and had everything we needed. The food was great as well. I got the stromboli and it was delicious. read more
