Pat Keenan, the owner, was the salesperson and oversaw the project end to end. He kept us informed throughout the entire process, they were able to get to us within a few weeks, and they found a lot of ways to add value beyond the scope of work. The crews were all very professional. At the end of the project I noticed a few screens were ripped during the project and Pat personally came over to pick them up and get them rescreened. Installing new accordion closet door * His girlfriend, as he introduced her (not as a member of the team/business), showed up to each job and did NOT assist. * His quote for wood stairs was $6,000! I'll leave it to you to determine if this is absurd. * Zelle is not a debit transaction and Zelle warns you of this before sending money for services. To simplify, Debit transactions can protect you should the need a arise where Zelle would leave you with no recourse. In my opinion, businesses that do not accept debit/credit are not willing to stand behind their work or are attempting to evade paying taxes. Eligio, as apparent by his reply, is experiencing a visceral reaction to him having to pay taxes like any normal business or has no intention to stand behind his work. If you're okay with this, his work is good (besides installing a door handle backwards).

He has been paid 90% of the project amount to date and left behind inferior workmanship, debris from demolition, and zero communication of how he plans to resolve this despite multiple attempts to contact him. We were willing to come to a resolution with Jacob so long as he provided satisfactory work, but due to his unresponsiveness, we have since hired a replacement and are looking at another $9,100 to FIX + COMPLETE the work that he was initially hired for. Our experience with Jacob & Handy Fellas was incredibly disappointing. Prior to Jacob, we had others provide estimates on the job and they completely exaggerated what needed to be done. This was not the case with Jacob. He was straight forward, and looked for the best way to do a quality job efficiently. We are so glad we reached out to him. I typically don't write reviews but this man is pretty much a scammer. He was pretty pleasant through contract signing for completing a basement with laundry room, bedroom, bathroom, family room & kitchenette. We were told the process would take 4 months. It took 8 with many days of him and his crew just not showing up. If you questioned him on anything he did, he would just not show for a while. He literally cut a 2 x5' hole in my upstairs family room hard wood without discussing it with me ahead of time to make headroom for the stairs. We are now a few years down the road from his work and paying over $10K to have the leaking shower totally torn out and redone. The new contractor discovered all the short cuts Nelson took from not overlapping the membrane, screwing holes through the membrane, not using treated wood, not even gluing in the quartz window ledge. AND he didn't even put a pea trap in our shower drain which was not even centered. Disappointed in Elmwood inspectors not catching that one. We also discovered after the fact that he installed PVC for our dryer vent (which is not code). ABT will not hook up a new dryer until we get that replaced which will involve ripping out another wall. Our ventilation in the basement was not done properly either and have paid over $1,000 to try to remedy that but haven't been able to fully resolve the issues. These are just a couple of the major things but there is definitely more. We would have been happy to pay more to NOT deal with all of the headaches Nelson caused. Save yourself the hassle and find another contractor.

Pretty reasonable given the amount of work I had done. They also stayed within the original budget that was quoted. They were also very clean and the workers that were in and out of my condo were very polite. I will definitely call them again for my next projects. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the communication could have been better coordinated. It seems they have different contacts for all aspects: estimates, payments, and actual work. This is my only knock on AGH, but overall I am very happy with all the work performed in my condo!
