Chris took my 1950s dinette chairs and elevated them! The craftsmanship is spot on, the pricing was more than fair, and the timing from drop off to pickup was speedy. The stitching, the cleaned up chrome, even the placement of the metal tacks is spot on! He even made the bottom kittie proof! EVERYONE was kind and fabulous. I would absolutely recommend Frank's for any automotive upholstery. I'm not sure how much furniture they do but if you have something, you should definitely ask - it's totally worth it! Seriously! Business ethic like this is something I haven't seen in a while. I felt like a welcomed part of their community! I could also tell that Chris and everyone there had pride in what they do. Had my car for 10 months. All they did was tear out the old interior, which was not in bad shape of water and left it like that with the window open all winter. I asked them to do a job for me but my Jeep they did not follow the template that I gave them the original patent that had whole cutouts for the screws and mounts and all they did was Trace old template out they did not make the cutouts for the screws mounts brackets and the cargo light I brought them back they put them on the car they were supposed to mock them and do the cutouts and sew around them so they wouldn't frae 2 weeks later I go back to get them same thing nothing cut out or prepared correctly so they put them on the car and put the screws just through the fabric back into their place on the car not happy at all and then complained about they did not make a lot of money on the job that was quoted to me I'd have to give them a zero and now I have to go around the vehicle straighten them out and correct them so good luck out there also last fall I had them replace my vinyl rear window it took them 2 months and when I got it back it was sewed on backwards I had to have that recorrected and it's still not correct to fit right I had high hopes because I have other work for them to do for my boat seats but I see I'll be going somewhere else unfortunately also the runaround they don't answer you back when you call and when you do it's always a different story read more

Definitely don't go here. I had a 1970 Caddilac and was having the seats reupholstered and the carpets replaced. They had told me it would take 1.5 months. Secretary was of not at all helpful and said there is no schedule and wouldn't tell me anything about when they would start working on it. After multiple months, they finally took the seats out. After repeatedly telling me it would be done "next week" they hadn't even touched the car for over 4 months. Finally got it done after 6 months afer I started showing up every few days in peson. They carpet guy had a really foul attitude and many other people had quit the shop for various reasons. The carpet person who installed the carpet ended up cut all the wires to my lights and power windows, broke my gas pedal, broke my glove box door (I wonder if this was done on purpose. Owner said he could replace my alternator and they had some random guy install it and it didn't work and I had to get the car towed after they jump started the car. Owner's mother didn't even get off the phone to hand me the key to the car when it was don. Never was told sorry for the inconvienience. Horrible experience!!!! Don't go here. My guess is that this place will be out of business in a year. Really poorly run operation. read more

We were on our way to Good Fortune Asian Market when we saw his business- We just pulled in and a super friendly woman came out and got our information. A shattered sunroof during the winter in the Northeast is never fun. The team at Frank's made this one of the easiest repairs I have ever encountered in 15 years of owning cars. I spoke with Steve once I saw that the glass for my sunroof had shipped through FedEx. Steve was beyond understanding and empathetic to my situation. He assured me he would get me scheduled within a day of the glass being received. Before I even received the notification that the glass was delivered, Steve, as promised called me to schedule me for the next morning. I dropped my car off at 8am and it was ready by lunchtime. The sunroof is as good as the factory one! Dealing with any car repair is never fun. It isn't the type of transaction you actively seek out. This review is from an older experience there as a customer that has always bothered me since. (For years!) I had a '68 camaro with '69 seats installed when I bought it. I wanted the correct ones (the front seats are different) and I personally sourced and picked up a full set of seats for a package deal that were correct for the year of my car as well as new replacement restoration seat coverings and brought them to franks auto top to have professionally reupholstered. Here's where it went wrong... I brought the '68 front seats I wanted restored and the new coverings to do it and also brought BOTH rear seats (those are the same for both years) and told them to use whichever they thought was the best rear one. When the job was done I came to pick them up and besides the front pair there was only one back seat. I asked where my other one was and got people looking back and forth around at each other and was brought in back to have one of the workers tell me there was a miscommunication and they cut up the extra seat to use for parts, springs. I should've argued more, that was not what I said they could do, no one asked me about that. I let it go for some reason and still paid full price, over $500, I thought it was pretty steep considering the quality. I wanted them professionally done cause I thought they would come out better than I could do and gotta say I think I could've covered these seats as well if not better and not lost a seat! And to this day when I drive by franks or look at the interior they did I dont believe they actually did ruin the other seat. I THINK THEY STOLE IT! Those seats are not cheap (they cost hundreds just for that rear one on its own) and they would not show me the cut up one when I asked to see it, they said it had been thrown away in the dumpster and was gone... been bothering me a long time, really what do you think? Do you think they would hack up an expensive classic car seat for a couple patch springs and throw away the rest or was I ripped off by people who know what the seats are worth thinking I wouldn't ask for it back and fed me a lie when I did? Be cautious and warned. As time goes by for me the negative feelings I have for my experience there only get worse and have not gone away at all. I just want to add to my older review, that the psychological abuse perpetrated against me by individuals at Frank's auto top, as well as by unsavory individuals within my local community at the same time, including crooked Providence Police who first in certain conversations nastily hinted at subtle knowledge regarding my car seat having been repaired so badly as to cause my upper back condition considerable amount of pain, and then proceeded to nastily jeer at me over the problem. Here's the thing. I didn't even mention in my prior review because the crimes being covered up by police, and over which this bad seat job was intended to intimidate me over, were so brutal and cruel that I found myself mentally incapable of articulating some of the bad things they did. Which included, take the upper part of the seat that they didn't contour to my upper back right. I told them, then and there, that they needed to contour it so it stuck out more in my back area between my belly button and rib cage so that's the part of the back seat that supports my back, rather than the small of my back rubbing too hard against the back and getting abrased. They simply refused to make that change. At the same time, I told them they needed to get rid of all concavity in a part of the seat where I have a problem with my vertebrae, thoracic area. They reluctantly and in a foot dragging way got rid of just a little bit of it, I had to tell them it wasn't good enough, so they got rid of a tiny bit more, all the while refusing to go down and just make the whole seat back flat. When the foam was put in for the bottom seat cushion, it lowered everything enough so that I cannot sit on that car seat without my back and spine curving in a manner that is very painful. Every since getting that bad repairjob, I'm having to tape foam to the seat or put cushions on, causing other problems. When I called Frank's Auto Top and said they didn't fix it, a woman nastily said "but we worked on your car five times" -- as if the amount of times they spent refusing to listen to me and deliberately getting it wrong over and over again somehow matters. And then when I tried to discuss with Stephen in detail exactly what they did wrong and what was wrong with the seat, he suddenly nastily shouts "you're a lunatic" and hangs up on me. One thing I want to make absolutely clear. I'm a witness and victim of very similar psychological and physical torture which is exactly what Frank's Auto Top perpetrated against me, but which was perpetrated previously by crooked cops in the Boston area working in cahoots, I have no choice but to say, with individuals of terrorist bent who knew something about the Boston Bombing before it happened. And who told me the motive for such an attack would be to help intimidate a large number of people who were aware of crooked cops' involvement in some very dishonest criminal acts towards me and other victims which included unethical medical experiments reminiscent of what went on in Nazi Germany's Auschwitz. Various statements and menacing hints made by several Providence Police officers as well as some city officials in Pawtucket seem to be attempting to communicate to me that the bad car seat repair job was perpetrated against me somehow as retaliation on behalf of the police over my online testimony as well as uploaded damning evidence they continue to insist on ignoring and stonewalling. read more

This place is as nice as can be. I had a leak in my sunroof of my Jeep and he took it in over three times and was so well cared for. Offered rides home and back . The owner is the nicest man, stands by his work even though this wasn't a big job I felt like I was very important to his business. I have had to bring it back a few times and each time was offered a ride home, a pick up ride, and no charge as he guaranteed his work. This Jeep has been leaking since a year after I bought it, and he fixed the roof. If you need any work done upholstery on a vintage car, he is your guy. Very very satisfied. read more
