I've been having my car serviced here for the last year or so. I have found the mechanics to be very upfront and honest about what needs to be done, what's urgent now and what can be put off for a future service visit. Before finding CPM, to be honest, it's been a challenge to find a reputable mechanic/garage here in Rhode Island. They're rare here. CPM is very thorough and they have an online reservation system you can use to book your appointment. When you're given your service receipt, it has a complete record of previous and upcoming scheduled maintenance for your car right on it. CPM is excellent. I've been bringing my cars to Jose for many years and his guys do great work. Lost a power steering belt later in the day; called to make an appointment and was told to bring it in. Belt was replaced before closing! Hard to find service like that today. He always calls to tell you how much it will cost. They also can bring you to and from if needed. We've had a couple unsatisfactory visits several years ago, but decided to give them another try recently when my car was due for inspection and our trusted mechanic doesn't do state inspections. We had a 1pm appointment and was told it would take about 1 hour to complete the inspection. By 2pm, the car still hadn't been taken into the garage, and when we asked, the receptionist told us the mechanic was on lunch and was due back within 15 minutes. Was very irritating that I had an appointment but did not get seen until over an hour late. When the mechanic did finally take it into the garage, about 15 minutes later he advised us it needed about $300 worth of parts/repair. We provided our consent to proceed. Another hour later, the car was finally ready. After being frustrated that our car was looked at over an hour late, what really irritated me the most is that when I brought the car in, one of my tires was low on air (the light was on, and the tire has a very slow leak since I have to fill it every few months), yet CPM did not fill the tire, mention anything to me, and apparently didn't even notice the low tire light that was on. I have taken two vehicles to them, one pre-purchase and one I own. They most recently did a pre-purchase inspection on a Ford Explorer for me and advised me that it was not a good buy. The mechanics went over every detail with me and showing me what was bad along the way. The car I purchased a while back was also inspected by them and the inspection showed only minor damages so we bought the car, fixed the small things like they said and have driven the car for over 100,000 miles without any issues. I do all my own maintenance and most repairs. I knew that my truck was mechanically sound. This has been the first time I've taken my car to this place and a friend of mine recommended me to them and I'm glad that he did and they went out of their way to try and find me a track bar for my car they are hard to find for a 1993 Toyota Tercel, they've tried Tarbox Toyota they discontinued that part that I needed so they tried Balise and they end up getting me a track bar from there and they did a great job and I will be taking my car back next time for minor problems. Also, they called me when there was a problem at first, then they called me back to tell me they found that part that I needed and called me back when my car was ready. If i could give this auto repair place a million stars I would! If you live local they offer a courtesy shuttle to pick you up and drop off while your car is being fixed. My car was litterly risen from the dead! It was on its last leg for what Chevy on post road in warwick did to my car! And Jose the mechanic did wonders and it was soooo affordable i wanted to cry! I have such a problem bringing my car to be repaired by someone else. My CRV was coughing, and sputtering, and giving me a variety of obd codes. I went through everything systematically looking for bad sensors and vacuum leaks, but couldn't zero in on anything. The mechanic working on my car came in after 20 min with a faulty line under the engine cover that obviously was causing a BAD vacuum leak. I was in and out, and my car is running like new again! Terrible, set up an appointment Friday morning to have my tire changed on Monday at 9 am I wait all weekend to have them call me at 7 am to tell me after I set up everything on Friday that first of all they don't know how to change a run on flat tire some "professionals" and then that they can't find the tire I ordered even though it is in their catalog. His tire warranty is thru Ballise Toyota so we called them first... Couldn't get in for 4 days.(for a tire plug?!?) We then called CPM & they said bring it right in. They had it done in 15 minutes!! I recently had my car towed here to have some work done on the brakes. The car arrived around noon and they finished the work same day! I had similar work done on the car before at other shops prior to moving to Coventry, and CPM was slightly more expensive; however, the convenience of having the problem solved same day is worth it. I've been going to CPM for many years now. The oil changes are quick and reasonable. I've also had many repairs done here on several different vehicles. They keep a record of your vehicles and the work they've done on each. Earlier this year I had my tires and brakes replaced here before a road trip to Texas. The prices were better than others places I've been to. This is the first time I got tires from them. They even gave me a gift card for a percentage of what I spent, because I spent over a certain amount. They are very honest. They also offer a shuttle to work, if you need it. read more

The staff was amazing! I called on a Friday morning around 11am with a dead car in the driveway and needing a place to tow it too. Called CPM and Kelly was so nice. Fit me in at 2:30 giving me time to have my car towed to them by AAA. Called when my car was on the way and spoke to one of the mechanic and told him what was happening. He said he would take a look and call me before he did anything but, it sounded like the starter. They called me about an hour later, unfortunately it was the starter. But fortunately I called CPM auto and they had my car finished before the end of the day!! Amazing!! read more

I brought my car into CPM on 5/16/2017, to have an oil change and the A/C recharged, as it was not blowing cold air. I paid $183 for the service(s). The following day, when the A/C was still not blowing cold air, I returned to CPM and was told the hose connecting the A/C compressor to the A/C condenser was cracked and needed to be replaced. I returned for the third time to have the hose replaced. This time, when I went to leave CPM, my vehicle would not start, even after being jumped numerous times. It was pushed back into the garage, and I was later told it was just the battery, despite the fact that the battery is only a year old. Since that day, I began having sporadic problems with the starter, and, yet again, I still had no A/C. So, for the fourth, and final time, I returned to have the A/C serviced by CPM, since I had just invested $367 and believed the job should be done, and done correctly. I was told by Jose, the owner, this time, that the machine that had been used to connect the new hose, caused the screw to strip, thus allowing the Freon to leak, but that the A/C was definitely fixed this time and the "temperature inside the car was 22 degrees." Though the car was taken for a test drive, it was returned to me in disrepair; bucking and shaking, especially when accelerating or decelerating; an issue that was not present prior to the services that day. Two days later, the A/C was not blowing any cold air and the car failed to start at all. AAA tested the battery, which was fine. My vehicle had to be towed (to a different mechanic), and the starter, which had become an issue after being serviced by CPM, had to be replaced. This cost $410. Then, two days after that, the A/C belt snapped as I was driving on a main road and the car died. This was likely caused by the A/C compressor, which was just three years old. Again, the car was towed, and the compressor, which was clearly handled by CPM while replacing the hose, needed to be replaced. My expense for that incident was $914. After some research, I found this can be caused by overcharging the A/C...(22 degrees). I contacted the owner, Jose, via email on 6/8/2017 and certified mail on 6/16 requesting a refund for the damages to my car. I provided documentation and receipts from CPM and the other mechanic, as well as documentation of the A/C compressor having been replaced just three years ago, and test results from AAA showing that the battery is in good, working order. $1,691 later and I have not heard anything from them. read more

Had just moved to Coventry from NC and need 4 new tires before the winter hit hard. 4 weeks after getting the new tires and being back in NC for the Christmas holiday one of the tires got a huge bubble in it (manufacture issue) I called CMP and asked if I needed to bring the tire back with me for them to see it. Joe, the gentleman I spoke to at CMP said no a picture and receipt of new tire purchase would be safincent and to not worry about that and get back on the road. This place was a joke. I brought my car in to get a plug on a tire, 1st they broke my key to unlock the bolts to my tires...they said they were not gonna reimburse me for the key...which they said is about 40-50$ then they said they were gonna put on the other spear lug Nuts on them and they charged me 30$ on top of that cause they broke my key so now I HAVE to put those on in case something happens to another one of my other tires! Oh btw they could fix my tire and in all the broke my tire key, didn't fix the tire, had to put on the lug nuts CAUSE they broke the key and charged me for it. I had to pay 55$ for all that! And I still have to buy a new tire key 40-50$ They said they won't pay for because it happens all the time and they're not responsible! This was the worst experience ever with my car and will NEVER go back there! If they reimbursed me for my key I might think otherwise but they're not going too! read more

I have been a customer of CPM for many years, always treated well. Work done to cars was always done timely and professionally. Prices can seem a little high, but you get what you pay for. I have had problem with son's car which they traced to the onboard computer. Efforts to locate one was difficult, but I did locate one out of Texas, had it shipped to them and they installed if for a reasonable price including all the diagnostics . They will work with you to be sure you are pleased, and they accommodate the issues anyone can have , They have never done work that was not needed, or charged me for work that was not done. Overall, I trust them to do the job properly and at a fair price, because I used to be a mechanic and I know when someone is BS's me. read more
