They are only open on Friday & Saturday for starters. We ordered my husband's birthday cake from…read morethem and it was ok, not delicious the frosting was a bit like crisco.. if you're old enough to remember that taste. The chocolate middle was very good. Again, the prices are crazy and they want to up charge for everything. Which is ok, if you're having a special event and you're gonna do it right I don't mind paying for it but what really upset me is they didn't have any candles.. When we went to pick up the birthday cake they said they were out of candles. How do you then run to a store with a Cake in your car search searching for candles right before an event I think a store like that should have candles for their customers. Especially at those prices.

We have two different cupcakes for later but if they are even half as good we are in for a real treat. The family that owns it are amazing and are putting out products that are made with real love. The service is incredible and friendly. Everything in the shop from T-shirts to grass fed meats from the family farm are all laid out for the casual shopper and also shows the amazing quality they put into everything they sell. This is a place, we will be visiting a lot in the future. The store is only open Monday , Friday and sat so make sure to get there to help support a great business and a very awesome family.

Absolutely phenomenal! First taste was from a pop-up in Belleair, and since, Maddie's Cakes has…read morebecome our go-to for any occasion that signals sweets. Love, love, LOVE the blondies! We've ordered those twice, and they are delicious. She knocks it out of the park! Easy to order, delivery is terrific, and SO GOOD!

We found Baked in the Burg looking for Maddie's Cakes on Google Maps. Immediately, we realized that…read morethis was not the business we'd looked at online, but decided to give it a try. To start, Maddie's Cakes indicated that it opened at 5pm, leading us to believe that it serviced the late-night coffee-and-pastries crowd. Baked in the Burg opens at 10am and closes at 7pm, and has a very different vibe than what we were expecting. The pastries are definitely meant to be the star of the show, but they were mislabeled (labeled as chocolate pistachio but only chocolate was available), and the baristas knew very little about the product. Speaking of the baristas, although they were very friendly, they clearly were woefully lacking in training. I ordered a chai tea, and one of the baristas asked the other, "Do you know how to make that?" Additionally, my mom ordered a coffee, and when she asked if the brew coffee sitting on the hot plate was fresh, the barista answered, "It was made this morning [seven hours prior to our visit], but it's been on the hot plate." My mom had to ask for a fresh pot to be made, because apparently no one told these poor girls how disgusting coffee is after seven hours on a hot plate. To their credit, though, they were extremely friendly and accommodating, and did their best to answer all of our questions. I just think they need more training. As far as the pastries are concerned, we were so disappointed that we ended up going to Sorrento Sweets right up the street. Skip Baked in the Burg and head to Sorrento's if you want a high-quality bakery experience.
