This cafeteria style BBQ spot offers a variety of roasted meats & PR style sides. During my visit,…read moreI tried the pernil (roasted pork), roasted chicken, chicken sausage, maduro (fried sweet plantain),& rice w/ gandules. The standout was def the roasted chicken(dark meat was juicy, flavorful, & delish while the white meat was a little dry it was still tasty). The roasted pork was also enjoyable & moist w/ crispy cerdo (skin).Unfortunately, the chicken sausage was on the dry side. The rice & gandules were the biggest disappointment. They tasted like they had been sitting out for a while & lacked the freshness & hotness(I like my rice piping hot) I was hoping for. The maduro could have been more fresh as well. I wish they had been more generous w/ the hot sauce. I was only given two tiny containers which wasn't nearly enough for the amount of food I ordered. The woman who took care of me was ok. Some of the other workers were rude & acted like I asked for the world when I asked for hot sauce. There isn't really any decor (just basic) & seating/tables are outside where you can enjoy the nice, fresh air. The only complaint I can say about that is the birds everywhere. Overall, the roasted chicken/pernil alone would def bring me back. While some of the sides & extras could use improvement as well as some of the staff. The quality of the chicken/pernil made the visit worthwhile plus the price was right. I couldn't believe how cheap everything was.

The restaurant is spacious with colorful and expressive art all over the walls. You're hearing Latin music in the background there's a large bar in the left corner. The menu is big, there's so much that you would want to try so go with the big party. Your offered three different styles of plant proteins when you order your traditional dish. We had the Pasteles, Mofongo, ALcapurria and Sorullitos. Everything came out hot and fresh. The Mofongo was out of this world. And I make Mofongo. The Alcapurria was delicious of Smith's first time having it. The portions are large enough to share. Or have leftovers. You are so lucky to meet the owner. The super friendly gentleman he gave us the backstory of why he started this restaurant. Changing his diet helped him recover from cancer. And it was about the way he ate. So he wanted to share this opportunity with meat eaters. So the whole goal of his restaurant is vegan food for meat eater so they can see that they are not missing anything. The owner also is a famous DJ. He has a talk show radio. And he's been doing it since the 70s. It was a lovely experience my Bestie found this restaurant for me. Because I'm a vegan/sometimes pescatarian. I don't get to try all the foods. It was such a lovely experience.

Okay, if you're in Carolina near the beach..Just cross the bridge and come here…read more I will say, it's sort of pricey but fresh. An abundance of friendly staff. They have everything from breakfast to lunch to dinner, wine, bakery, deli items and more. Its located right by the highway so it's busy and good. My dad has taken me here in the past. Okay so not super expensive but definitely on par with tourist pricing due to location but I can't knock the hustle

It was such a delicious treat! This gelato shop is located on Ashford Avenue in Condado. There were…read moremounds of gelato with so many unique flavors & combinations. We just couldn't pass it up. So, let's talk about the history. It all started out as "Anita La Mamma del Gelato" in Tel Aviv back in 2002. "La Mamma del Gelato" that you see on the walls inside this shop represent the mother (Anita Avital) & son (Nir) duo who started it all. It's grown to many more locations to include NYC and Miami. There's even a sub-brand of Anita Gelato called "Golda Gilda" that is very popular in Israel. I have to be honest when stating that I've never heard of either gelato brands until seeing this shop near our hotel. We each decided to get the smallest cup size that includes 2 flavors. I selected Pavlova Mixed Berries and Chocolate Pistachio & Kadayif. There was a white chocolate version of it as well, but I decided to stick with the traditional milk chocolate. I don't remember what flavors my husband picked out. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed mine. I especially loved the chocolate pistachio one. That layer of pistachio cream & crispy kadayif was delightful. I didn't taste any pavlova in the mixed berry gelato, but it was still wonderful. They're very good about giving out samples for those who are unsure and want to get the perfect flavor. I wish we had returned to try more. It was a delicious & relaxing experience. The service was great. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. We fortunately arrived in the late afternoon when it wasn't too busy. Definitely do not pass this one up when in Condado.
