Y'all. Drive by those chain restaurants that are along North Kickapoo Ave. close to the freeway to locally owned independent Italian restaurant Frateli's - less than a mile south. The service is warm and attentive without being interrupting. The menu offers a great variety of entrees including pizza. There are lunch specials, hot & cold appetizers, pasta, meat dishes and seafood. We opted to try their cesar salad (with extra anchovies) and the 'special' of a pasta and house made Italian sausage plate. YUM. The wine list might be brief but the wine was also good. Ate here for the first time yesterday. It was so good! Wish we would have tried it sooner. I got the blackened chicken Alfredo it was delicious! The chicken was so flavorful and tender. We loved the roll/croissants as well. Salad was fresh and delicious as well. Very nice clean place on the inside. The outside looks older but it has been updated and well maintained inside. My family and I love coming here. Since the remodel, the ambiance is beautiful inside. It's bright and inviting. The service is friendly, caring and always helpful. The flavor of the food is so good. I have my favorites! Chicken Alfredo pizza with spinach and extra garlic is so good! I haven't found anything I don't like yet. My favorite soup is definitely the Lobster Bisque. Sooooooo good! Their salmon was neon pink and heavy to cut even when drowned in the decent white marina sauce. Noodles were harder than a broken cookie. Their "bread" is Cracker barr-like house rolls with butter packets. The table was wobbly. The soda was almost a flat soda, it was sweet enough so I drank it anyways. But you can tell when it almost looks like a tea instead of Coke it's not going to be "all there". Nobody likes a flat soda. This place was not serious, became a waste of time and money for me this evening. read more

We had a family lunch there today and it was on point. We had a party of 16 and we're seated in the back room where we did not feel rushed or crowded. Waitress was friendly and service was good. My husband and I have eaten here more times than I can count in the 10 years we have lived in the area. Never been disappointed in the food, atmosphere, or cleanliness. The friendly and efficient servers, not to mention the owners, are just the best. We have tried so many different dishes and every one has been outstanding. The prices are reasonable. First timer here at Frateli's and I was quite surprised at how GOOD our experience was! The restaurant on the outside was clean and attractive. The inside was simple and quaint with minimal decor. The food was DELICIOUS! Hubby and I had the veal picatta, he had the salad and our waitress recommended I get the potato soup and man, I enjoyed that soup along with the delicious rolls they gave us. We ordered their homemade tiramisu for dessert and let me tell you, that was the BEST tiramisu we've ever had that we had to order another one to go. Come to Frateli's, you won't be disappointed. Always really fresh and decently good food when we go. The portions are huge and it's pretty inexpensive! Beats a lot of the alternatives and actually owned by an Italian family. Not corporate America. The cheese bread is baked to order and unbelievably gooey and delicious! I tried the carbonara and it was okay if doctored up with some more cheese, red peppers and salt. Could use more pancetta. The wife got the baked ziti. It's always brought to the table pipping hot and bubbly with lots of ricotta our fav! The service was excellent! We told our server that we were in kind of a hurry and she got us out in an hour or less. The ambiance was okay...nothing super special. The place was packed, especially for a Thursday evening. They were out of the Pink Moscato at the top of the menu. I ordered cannelloni and my husband ordered a Stromboli. He said the Stromboli was the best he'd had in years! The crust was golden and looked perfect. The ingredients did not taste cheap or imitation! My cannelloni was okay. I was not sure as before the tornado Frateli's was not on my list of eateries anymore but I have been hearing good things after the remodel I had the opportunity to try them today as you can see I sampled the pizza the blackened chicken Alfredo and the tiramisu which is a little pricey for Shawnee, but I do think it is the best tiramisu you're gonna find in town. The pizza was amazing. I asked for it a little bit crispy and they delivered as far as pizza goes. I would give it a rating of a 7.5 as far as pizza goes for Shawnee I would give it a rating of an 8.5 One Bite everybody knows the rules. The blackened chicken was good noodles on point sauce was ok could have been from a can slightly lacking on flavor but it is an Alfredo. I think the pizza ran about $13 and the chicken ran about $12 both within reasonable range. The tiramisu was either right at six or right at seven. I can't remember a little bit pricey for my liking but reasonable being the only place you're gonna get tiramisu that good around here I don't want to give it a 5 out of 5 but it is better than a 4 rating I want to say 4.4 I am definitely going back for more pizza and tiramisu almost forgot the service was excellent and extremely friendly thank you read more

Chef poured olive oil on top of my stuffed pasta and it was swimming in oil. Taste was ok, but could not finish and when I asked about it was given paper napkins to soak up oil. The spaghetti and lasagna looked good and no oil was seen on meal. My dining partners said all was good. The place was noisy and hard to communicate. read more

They recently re-opened after being hit hard by a tornado 2 years ago. They also had someone try to break in to their restaurant right when they re-opened. So, they've been through a lot, and deserve some grace. They greeted us with a smile when we came for dinner, and we were overall very happy with the food. They were almost full, so they were working hard! Their eggplant parm, cannelloni, seafood ravioli and ziti were great. Another good restaurant option to add when visiting town. read more

My sister & I visited this location on Weds. 6-12-24 because our usual favorite place in town was already closed for lunch. We had high expectations for this place & were craving Italian so we decided to give this place a try. First the positive, plenty of parking available at this location that recently opened back up after the 2023 tornado went thru Shawnee. The service was horrible. Took over an hour to get our food, no refills were ever offered on our tea & water. Asked for no tomatoes in the salad but tomatoes were included, no croutons in the salad. Skimpy on the chicken in the Chicken Fettuccini, no parmesan on the chicken fettuccini, sauce was bland with no flavor. Bread wasn't very good. Customers were actually walking out without ordering. Confusion all around, entire restaurant was disorganized, employees couldn't find the ticket when we were ready to pay. Employee kept trying to have me pay for someone else's table when I told him where we had been sitting & what we had ordered. We had mozzarella sticks, 2 chicken fettuccini, tea & water & our meal came to $ 47.13 before tip. I don't mind paying for a good meal but over $ 50.00 for lunch is pricey when it wasn't a good lunch & good service. We won't be back for a return visit. This has got to be the worst restaurant I have ever "eaten" in. The food is worst than my memories of the lunch room in elementary school. First, my husband and I ordered iced tea. The waitress had the nerve to say to us, "Try it first, if it tastes funny, I have a new batch in the back. Then she made a face. That should have been my first clue. Next, my salad was very wilted. The plate was stained red from the wilted mixed greens. Some of the lettuce was also past it's prime. My main course came out. I ordered fettuccine with blackened chicken. I took a bite of the chicken. Let me explain. First of all, I never had blackened chicken come out atop fettuccine not sliced. I guess this was not sliced because it was either processed chicken (because it was perfectly formed) or very poor quality. I took one bite of the chicken and spit it out. I attempted to eat the fettuccine and the sauce was a very cheap jarred sauce. I asked for the check. My husband ordered a calzone. He was very hungry and tried eating it. Very lame version of an Italian calzone. Cheap pepperoni, imitation cheese and the texture of the dough was wrong. Took a couple bites and decided to skip it. I was hungry, so I thought to myself, I'll try it, you can't screw up a calzone. I guess I was wrong. Horrible food. Stay away. An expensive learning lessons. Too many flies in the "restaurant". The manager or owner was no where to be found. Disgusting and disgraceful. read more

Arrived at 5:50pm. Seated within 5 minutes. Server showed up in 5 Minutes and took drink order, returned promptly with drinks. 10 more minutes, server returned for food order. Salads arrived at 6:20. Not good, a little lettuce, small half slice of a tomato, one pepper, Dressing was worse than bottled ranch. Food arrived at 6:40pm. Alfredo tasted just like bottled sauce from Walmart. Fettuccine was mushy. Blackened chicken was good, well seasoned and moist. Many flies kept dive bombing food. Check received finally at 6:55. Waited in line to pay check. Not a good experience at $35 for dinner for two. Rate the food at 2. Service at 3. Ambiance is sterile which is to be expected after months of remodel. The food was ok but nothing special. On the day I was there one of the entrance/exit doors was broken (glass was busted out) so the door was propped open. This allowed flies into the restaurant (as well as the summer heat) and they were swarming around our food. They could have patched the door temporarily such as wrapping Saran Wrap around the door and shutting it and putting a sign on the door, until a more permanent solution such as plywood, could be installed. Also they didn't have enough rolls prepared. The waitress said she would bring more but that never happened. They were still baking when we left. I don't plan on going back anytime soon. read more

Got the ravioli with brandy sauce and oooooohhhhhh, man, it was delicious. The salad is always bomb, I ordered a second one for the next day and it was STILL delicious. :) I love taking the long way home because this place turns into a stop along the way. Oh! First impression was that not a single employee was wearing a mask! Service was OK but rather slow. Our drinks arrived with opened straws already IN the glass. (I typically don't use a straw for environmental reasons and really don't think that should happen even pre-pandemic!) Salads were just chopped iceberg lettuce with a couple of slivers of sundried tomatoes. I did enjoy the house-made tomato-based Italian vinaigrette though. The bread is basically just long white rolls (no garlic or seasoning of any kind) and ours was somewhat burnt on top. You can purchase some stuffed cheese bread as an appetizer for $4.95. Our meals took 35 mins. to arrive at our table, even though there only 3 other tables occupied in the restaurant. Our food was acceptable, but nothing special and honestly a bit bland. The meat in the lasagna seemed pureed and the red sauce is a bit too sweet. Alfredo sauce had very little taste. Not terrible, but probably not again. read more
