I've been dining at Frazier Five and Dime since it Opened. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed. Better yet the food is an out of body experience. Tonight I had the trout with pecan butter with broccolini and my partner had the wedge salad followed by the fish and grits. This dining experience was enhanced by the flawless service of Joe. Picked it out of Maps. The cocktails drew us in. Very happy with our decision. Friendly service. Nice menu. We were seated on their patio area. I'm glad as the sound just bounced off the walls inside. Service was slow. We were there for 2 hours, from 6-8pm. It was busy! We split the lamb meatball. One large for $10. I had the Katy Perry and friend had the violet vine. Both were amazing. Set price of house cocktails currently $13. No sides accompany Entrees. Portions average. 1/2 smoked chicken with maybe half a cup of slaw. Nola shrimp was 6 shrimp and a large biscuit. I wish I had ordered a side. House made ice cream and cheesecake were tasty. We walked in and lucked out, the bar was packed but two people left as we came in. Service was incredible, cocktails were delicious and the food was amazing. An excellent addition to Frazier avenue. Awesome new addition to the Frazier Ave. area. We went with friends this past Tuesday and everyone was really impressed with their meal. Two of us had cocktails and they were both very good--the champagne based drink with the glitter is pretty neat! We started with the deviled eggs, caper tapenade, and the salad. All were very good, especially the tapenade. Two of us had the smoked chicken and it was delicious--good BBQ join quality with a delicious white sauce. The other two in our party had the pork milanese and the shrimp & biscuit and they raved about them as well. We shared the corn, asparagus, and mushrooms as sides. I only had the corn and enjoyed it, but would prefer elote-style corn cut off the cob. We tried every dessert on the menu between the 4 of us and every last bite was eaten. I had the chocolate roulade and it was SO moist and delicious. We will be back for sure, hopefully before they get too crowded. I do hope they start taking reservations soon because we will be less inclined to try on a weekend with the inevitable hour long wait a place like this will generate. read more

I don't remember whether they used to charge for bread or not, but the server very innocently asked us whether we'd like sourdough for the table. We said yes, but assumed it was free because or course it would be if she asked like that. Before she brought it, I asked just to make sure, and no, it was not going to be free! It was one of the me u items disguised under another name - she pointed to it, and it was $10. Weird. Then the mains took over 30 minutes to arrive. The worst part though was that after a long hot day at the zoo when we came in to be seated, the manager or owner told us that he only had the patio available for us. He was standing in front of tables upon tables empty inside the restaurant. I had a 4 month old with me, and he had already been in the heat enough. The waitress and the owner kept saying how beautiful it was outside in the fall weather. Delusional. It was upper 80s. There was nothing beautiful about how hot we all were out there. The obnoxious part was how many tables were actually available inside. Tables upon tables were free inside, and that was from the time we arrived until the time we left. Surely they could've fit us in there somewhere; they didn't want to for some reason. It seemed like there was a prejudice against us because we brought children maybe. The children were quite well-behaved however, and it wasn't the first time they had come to the restaurant, so they already knew this. In the past, they've never been very crowded (I imagine there are better options for the price nearby, maybe we just don't know them yet), so the patio was always an option instead of a sit here or go elsewhere to eat situation. We also weren't given the option to wait for indoor seating, and this even though I mentioned that my very young infant (who is more susceptible to heat stroke or heat exhaustion than the average adult) would be very hot out in the weather. My daughter was also sweating in the heat, as was I. They had two small fans, but neither was directed at our table, and even when I stood in front of them they seemed not to do much. If they say patio or nothing, just leave. It's not worth braving the summer heat for in my opinion. The server did keep our water glasses full to replace what we were sweating out at least. Oh, and this is maybe or maybe not a thing the restaurant can do anything about, but like 15 big black flies ascended from below the restaurant at all at once (maybe there is a trashcan below the patio that was opened) and began landing all over the children and their food that they were eating. So that was gross. Guess that's another unnecessary hazard of seating people outside when you have indoor seating available. Maybe they could screen in the outside area to alleviate the fly problem, and I would suggest waaaay more fans on people especially the very young and the elderly (both types of people were sat out on the patio). The food was still tasty, so they get a star for that. The other stars were taken off for seating us in the heat even while there were tables in the AC that seemed available (do better for young babies!), the many flies, and the server trying to upsell us bread but making it look at first as though it was a free option (as one would expect bread to be at upscale restaurants). I have had better experiences here. I was embarrassed that I had suggested it to my friend who hadn't been yet -- really had talked it up because I had been several other times and all good experiences, but today fell flat. Very disappointed. read more

Five and Dime is one of best new restaurants in the area. We have been there with a large group for Mother's Day and everyone loved it. It is hard to find a place that can please grandparents and small kids. The menu is creative, you won't find anything like. We have also come to the bar to hang out. The bar is also great: Lots of seats, great drinks, people watching, small plates are amazing! No matter when we come, the service has been on point. Great bar with attached tables , tvs to watch sports if need be.. and great porch for chilling outside.. food is not the norm which is great.. chefs thinks outside the box.. can have some extra spice or maybe extra sweet .. pork Milanese or cheese cake with fruity pebbles !!! Bar tender was great and very knowledgeable about the menu. We had the beets to start which lacked having any flavor so we will not order those again. I just wondered if the chef tasted them before they were sent out to the table. Other reviews say the beets are awesome, maybe it was an off day. Then we ordered the scallops which were seared on only one side and smelled very fishy, we sent them back. Will try this place again but first time was not a charm. read more

Beautiful interior, amazing food, fantastic service! Highly recommend. I was astounded that we were able to get a table here anywhere near lunch time on Father's Day because it is SO good. Everything we've had here is fantastic - with the exception of the dino chicken nuggets; those were a little strange on the inside -- chicken mixed with panko or breadcrumbs, had a bit of a sawdusty-like texture. The lamb meatball was amazing, as was the beet hummus and the steak. Also had the fish collar (which was a bit bonier than we liked, but still okay), and the trout, which was delicious. We also had the califlower gratin, which was amazing, as well as the steak. All super tasty and beautiful presentation. For brunch, we had beniets, eggo sando, proscciuoto hash, five and dime breakfast, and the grits. All was SO good. Hesitant to even leave a review this good because I know it'll be harder to get reservations and this place is my absolute new favorite. read more

Stopped in for some late night appetizers and was blown away by the creativity of the menu. Everything we had was delicious. We even ordered the full desert menu because it was too hard to pick one. My wife and I really enjoyed our food and experience. Frazier Five and Dime has quickly become one of our Chattanooga top three restaurants. We started with a locally fashioned and violent vines for our cocktails, both of which were really good. I personally prefer a regular old fashioned, but the locally fashioned was a very suitable alternative, especially if you enjoy rye. We had the chicken croquette to start, the honey and smoked mayo complimented the croquette so well. For our main course, we had the grilled steak as well as the shrimp and biscuit. The steak was really good, I would probably give it a 7/10. My personal preference is a bordelaise or red wine sauce to finish the steak, the sauce used was a very savory tomato based sauce. Again it was good, just not my preference. The shrimp and biscuit were, in my opinion, as close to perfection as you could get. The garlic butter worcestershire sauce that they sat in was incredible. I also enjoyed a glass of the Brandborg Pinot Noir, which complimented my dish well. If you're trying to decide whether or not you should eat here, the answer is absolutely! It is casual yet refined and the service is excellent. read more

I visited Frazier Five & Dime for the first time earlier this week. I had a very positive experience. I'll definitely go back. I had the beets salad followed by the fish and grits. Both were excellent, and had an unusual and tasty flair. It was just me, and I sat at the bar. I had a nice chat with the bartender and he was very pleasant. He took my order, and it arrived amazingly fast. The price was very reasonable. It's easy for me to write this positive review for such a fine establishment.
