I called his primary vet and others seeking emergency care. No appointments available until next week. I thought, "Next week! How can this not be an emergency." (You know how we are.) Maybe a groomer, I thought. None would look at him, referring me back to his vet. Then I called Stephanie's and was told to bring him in, they would look at it and trim if that was all that was needed, or refer me back to my Vet. Needless to say, all that was needed was a nail clipping. I was in and out, in 15 minutes. I won't relay their prices, but I paid "less" than $20 for a visit that would have probably cost almost $100 if not more, at mine or any other vet. These groomers really care. This kind of compassion should never go unnoticed. Thank you.

She really listens to the pup and their needs. She takes her time and introduces herself to them and spends time playing with them. If your pup needs a break, she listens to them and takes time to play and rest. She also works hard to familiarize them with the process and tools. Even simple things like not putting them on the table. She lowers it to their level and encourages them to step on before hooking them in for safety and lifting the table. We were greeted by Austin with an infectious smile and bubbly personality. Bentley was super excited and after some sniffing around he went potty in the establishment. She assured us everything was fine, loved on him and cleaned the mess. We spoke about what were we're looking for and left. She took her time with my boy Bentley and made him look like the gentleman he is! We were able to choose his bandana and if we wanted a cologne spray after his services. We received a text that said Bentley would be done in 30 minutes. When we arrived our happy handsome boy was joyously lounging on the couch after some play time with her next pup. She went over our services, how much she cut off and payment. Super easy process. We were able to book with her online, and save my card on file for easy checkout in the establishment. She carries all natural treats for the pup and is a wealth of knowledge. No need for us to look any farther, we have found our forever groomer!

Fortunately an acquaintance uses Happy Camper for her dogs and highly recommended them. After calls to other places and to Happy Camper it was clear Happy Camper would be the best place for my 15-year-old baby girl. That all the forms and sending documents could be done electronically was beyond fantastic. My Couscous came home, happy, healthy, and relaxed -- and maybe a little disappointed she wasn't still there. I recently had to go back into the hospital so again needed to board Couscous again with no planning time. Happy Camper welcomed her. I think the best thing a dog parent can hear about a place is what their dog says: As Couscous realized where she was going, she got excited and wagged all her rear body parts in excitement.

During her second week of vacation here in Virginia, my daughter scheduled two appointments for little Ms. Lola; one for a nail clipping and another for a bath and grooming. Lola went to C C Pet Spa on Monday, July 28, 2025 to have her nails clipped and on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 she returned for the bath and grooming. On Wednesday, about an hour after leaving her at C C Pet Spa we received a call from C C Pet Spa indicating that there was an emergency at the Pet Spa. I rushed to the Pet Spa and was informed that our Lola was currently at a Veterinary Hospital up the street and as I walked into the examination room at the Vet Hospital, Ms. C C, her Assistant, my heartbroken daughter were all present but Lola was not there but, in another room, and was deceased. We were in shock and our hearts were broken as Lola was just running around the house as happy as she could be just an hour before. We do not know what happened to Lola at C C Pet Spa and we may never know, but what we do know is that while we were at the Veterinary hospital, Ms. CC of CC Pet Spa stated to us that she would be paying for Lola's cremation expenses. We didn't ask her to, nor had we ever had a pet cremated, and we couldn't even grasp the loss at the time as our hearts were just shattered, as Lola is a Velcro puppy, a sole companion and a pampered and much-loved little girl. She gets groomed on a regular basis in TN and has never had an issue. Ms. C C informed the Veterinary Hospital multiple times that she would pay for the cremation expenses and the Hospital confirmed and reminded us several times that Ms. C C had indicated to them that she would be paying for the cremation expenses (just as she had stated to us). The arrangements were finalized on Thursday with the cremation vendor. The Veterinary Hospital stated to me that their calls to Ms. C C were not being answered nor their voice messages. On Friday, August 1, 2025 the Veterinary Hospital called and informed me that they were finally able to reach Ms. C C. She has now advised them that she will not be paying for the cremation expenses. This adds insult to injury as C C Pet Spa did not have the decency to inform us that they are defaulting on paying for the cremation expenses, which was proposed by Ms. C C of C C's Pet Spa. We are heartbroken by the sudden and unexpected, unexplained death of this six year old, vibrant and happy little girl and by the conduct of CC Pet Spa in taking our pet to a facility, agreeing to pay for the cremation expenses and then leaving it to that facility to contact us to let us know of their despicable behavior in not paying for the cremation expenses they agreed to. Their lack of empathy and concern towards the pet owners and the added expenses we incurred as we grieve the loss of little Lola is egregious. If I could write a negative -5 Stars I would.
