Stephanie's Pet Groomers turned my sad day into a glad one. I thought my dog's toenail was torn off, to the quick. It was pointing sideways, he limped for awhile and kept licking it. I called his primary vet and others seeking emergency care. No appointments available until next week. I thought, "Next week! How can this not be an emergency." (You know how we are.) Maybe a groomer, I thought. None would look at him, referring me back to his vet. Then I called Stephanie's and was told to bring him in, they would look at it and trim if that was all that was needed, or refer me back to my Vet. Needless to say, all that was needed was a nail clipping. I was in and out, in 15 minutes. I won't relay their prices, but I paid "less" than $20 for a visit that would have probably cost almost $100 if not more, at mine or any other vet. These groomers really care. I brought my 12 year old retriever mix in for a bath, nail trim, and deshedding treatment. I usually handle all of this myself but I have been away with the military for the last year and I'm that time she was diagnosed with diabetes and has the occasional accident, went blind and struggles to avoid getting in messes she usually avoids, and has had a couple of hospital stays. Old girl has been through it. It was so easy to make an appointment at Stephanie's, and when we got there she immediately identified that my dog probably had mobility issues at her age and could benefit from having her fuzzy toes trimmed. They did such an amazing job, my dog's coat is so much softer and cleaner and whatever the deshedding treatment is helped so much with her heavy shedding. My husband can't understand why she is never this soft after we wash and brush her. This might become a regular thing for us! read more

They did great job grooming my dog this summer but after today we will never be back. I brought my kitten (just adopted 2 days ago) for a bath since she's been from shelter to shelter. They called me at 3 pm to ask when I would be picking her up because they hadn't put down any litter or anything for her all day. She was dropped off before her 9 am appointment time. Yes she was done at 12, but I was working and couldn't get there until later. They don't close until 5 so I had some time. Even if she had been there for 30 minutes, the proper care should have been provided. If they were "concerned" enough to call, they should have just put something down for her regardless of the cleaning required after she left. This experience has made me question what happens behind the scenes. If they can not provide an animal with basic needs, why should I trust that my babies are cared for properly? All to avoid some extra cleaning? Now what if my kitten has an accident on the way home because she has gone all day without the proper basic requirements? She JUST got "professionally" groomed. Seems to have defeated the purpose. I would have happily provided the basics at drop off had I known they were not prepared but it was never mentioned to me and I would not have ever guessed this would be an issue. I brought my brand new baby there out of trust. Clearly that has significantly changed and my judgement was short sighted. I have experience working in a number of boarding/vet/animal care facilities and find this experience to be extremely unprofessional. Absolutely the best groomers around. The team are very gentle with newbies and always take the best care of our Finnigan. He is a Golden Doodle with massive hair and personality. I will never go to another groomer as long as we are stationed at Fort Lee. I have a shih-tzu who is 10 years old. She gets groomed regularly since we first got her. I get a little nervous taking her new places because; 1: she is getting older, and 2: I like her groomed a certain way. The salon is extremely clean and organized, the staff are EXTREMELY nice, and they have on open concept so you can essentially see their work stations. Took 2 dogs in at 8 am called around 3pm and they both still were not done. My little dog was shaking when we left and didn't act like himself the rest of the day. Was recommended by a fellow military spouse but pretty disappointed. My little dog was uneven and if it possibly was his first time being groomed ever I may be more understanding however he's 6 yrs old and has been groomed ever since he was a puppy and we have never had an issue. Never got a receipt just an overall total so I have no clue how much each pet cost me. The staff up front were nice and lobby was clean. read more
