Where do I start with this bamboozle ripoff place? I was told I can turn in my lease early and receive a new lease for the same payment plan I originally had false. I get there 15 minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment just to be waiting 15 more minutes after my scheduled appointment. I met sales rep Alan before the finance guy that raped my pockets after everything. The price of the car was not what was the original price? Overall I ended up overpaying for a Honda Sport and everything I went over with Alan was thrown out the window by the finance guy. So why did I meet him? He came back with some shity quote and tried to make me feel like he got me the best deal. I was in there for over 4 hours to overpay for my car. I did leave with a car but NEVER AGAIN will I purchase another Honda car or recommend anyone to Fred Anderson Honda of Greenville. Totally disappointed! read more

i live 2.5 hours away but I ended up conversing with a lady there by the name of Melissa C. Long story short I ended up buying from my local dealership and I felt terrible about it because Melissa had spent so much time and effort trying to make this work. This lady is absolutely wonderful in every way. If you are considering this dealership I would strongly encourage to ask for Melissa by name. Yep - they will sell you a car - take your money and forget about you. Today's high tech vehicle needs some instruction on how to operate your vehicle. 5 minutes - here is how you start it - have a nice day. Sales staff incompetent. Put the wrong screws in the license plate grommets - went to tighten - striped out the grommets and now will not hold the plate securely in place. $5.05 for two new grommets,plus to aggravation of getting the old ones out. Front license plate holder installed somewhere along the line. However North and South Carolina does not use front plate. Remove the ugly plate holder and now we have two holes in the brand new front trim! Called Service Manager - about repair - owners cost to fix it, call our body shop! Made an appointment to pick up new car - Paid cash - should be simple transaction - well, having arrived to find the sales person waiting on three other customers - finding a manager to move thins along - 4hours later finally worn out - left. Leased a vehicle 3 years ago from Breakaway Honda--everything went great! Fred Anderson then bought the dealership and it has been a nightmare. I turned in my lease a month ago in December--before it ended--and leased a new vehicle. Many problems and issues at that point. Now, I am getting daily voicemails from Honda Finance. Bottom line--Fred Anderson never notified Honda that I'd returned the old leased vehicle. In addition, Honda said I owed the final lease payment....that Fred Anderson Honda was supposed to pay off on my behalf!!! Not a pleasant experience at all....... read more

Went in to consider trading in our two cars for one new car. Retired now and found we really don't need two cars. We knew the cost of cars had gone up. Rates being what they are, we weren't sure. Riley Lidel greeted us right away as we walked up and asked about our needs, concerns. We looked first at the Passport. Extremely nice. My husband liked it, a bit bigger than I liked. We ended up with Red CR-V Hybrid 4D which met all our needs and price points. Riley was kind enough to buy lunch, he went above and beyond! He drove back with us to collect the titles and the other car. I would recommend both Riley Lidel and Fred Anderson Honda. They made this process easier for us, and we have used their service department and found them excellent. So we felt it was an excellent purchase as we had some prior experience with their service department. We had recently renewed our taxes/ registration, so we handled that by contacting our insurance company while there. They suggested we return the old plate the next day ourselves, change the plate from Car registered to the new one. As it takes several months to do transfers. Which makes sense. read more

This is a hard review to write. We had an excellent experience dealing with Quenton. He was extremely patient and knowledgeable, he never rushed us and all in all gave us an unexpectedly great visit. 5 stars to Quentin- I'd give him 10 if the system would allow it. Now, for the other side of the coin. Going through the actual purchase of the new car was absolutely miserable. We arrived at the dealership at +/- 2:00 after finally deciding on which car we wanted to purchase it was +/- 4:30. After going thru all of the customary car dealer round robin, we finally got the price right and decided to purchase. By this time it was probably 5:30-6:00. We finally finished signing paperwork and left the dealership at +/- 10:40, tired and stressed- exactly the opposite emotions we wanted to feel after purchasing a new car. Even though our finance guy was pleasant enough (he did manage to work in an upgraded warranty plan for a minimal cost we certainly appreciate that), the waiting time to close the deal was excruciating. All in all, we managed to spend over 8 hours there at the dealership. We certainly weren't expecting that kind of wait or we would have packed a lunch. The dealership did however offer us a complimentary cup of water. I feel that knowing how long this transaction was taking (and would continue to do so) a better offer could and should have been made. I would have been forever grateful if they had just ordered us a pizza, small expense but huge kudos from your guests for taking care of them. I would hope the dealership gets it's customer service act together- I hate to think that other guests are being treated in this manner. Just FYI- the dealership does not offer any water in their vending machine and if you decide that you would like a carbonated beverage they will scalp you for $4.00. We were the last deal of the day to close, when we inquired as to why the delay- we were told that while there were 6 finance managers 5 of them managed to duck out without seeing who or what deal was left hanging in the closing pipeline. If I were their manager, I would be having some special words for them the next time I ran into them. We were told multiple times, just a minute- he'll be with you soon. All the way until- hold on- he's working on an out of state deal it takes a lot of time and then you're next. Meanwhile, the rest of the finance guys managed to slither out the door without offering any assistance. My wife was extremely stressed and was ready to squash the deal, I had a major headache due to the wait and the stress but we hung on mainly because we had already invested way too much time in the deal to just walk out (even though we really felt that might be the best idea). I'd say the lack of teamwork, effective communication between teammates and just plain old courtesy toward paying customers is something the dealership needs to improve on or deal with the repercussions of bad service. (being decline in customers, reduced net sales, and overall bad juju) Right now, I'd happily go shop again with Quinton, but on the finance and closing end- I'd rather have my teeth pulled without the aid of anesthesia. I'm sure the sting of this dreadful experience will fade away in time, but as for right now, we'd be hard pressed to give this dealership a positive recommendation. Instead, we will warn friends and neighbors of the serious glitch we encountered. We love our new Honda, just wish it had been easier to close the deal. read more

I've had better customer service experiences at the DMV. Brought my car in for two issues I was having and was told in order to resolve these problems they'd need the car a day, "maybe two." Several days later, I had not one update--I'd called twice on two separate days and got no call back. Finally, after calling a third time, I spoke to the supervisor who was very pleasant, but despite having my car in the shop for five entire days, he could not guarantee that the problems were resolved. If this dealership values its customers, it's difficult to tell. I won't be back. read more

My experience was going well at first. I thought that this place was a Great place to do business from the reviews on Google. But I see Yelp has a different side of things and I see why. When I was looking at a particular vehicle, I was getting the texts and calls. Then I submit my credit application now my score is in the 7's so I'm like everything will go smoothly. Also I live out of state. Which I didn't think was a big deal. They had my credit application for 3 days and NEVER did anything with it. Then on a Saturday after speaking to Nicholas Rodriguez, I'm like ok things can get a move on it. Only for him to constantly lie about he is going to get back with me and Never does and then to see these inquiries all for you to do absolutely nothing. Not even a call to say hey someone in town is looking at the vehicle or anything. I would have taken my business elsewhere. I found out on Carfax that the car was sold. So what was the purpose of running my credit for 2 days. The level of pissed that I was and am. Some kind of way it all comes back full circle. That I do know! read more

The only dealership I have ever used that cannot do license plates, a very simple thing. Forty-five days after buying a new Ridgeline, my temp tag expired. I never got my new plate. It turns out, Fred waited over a month to even send in the info to DMV, so the plate was not issued in time. Customer care is not the top of the list there. read more

Buyer Beware: The Inevitable Demise of Fred Anderson Honda I recently visited Fred Anderson Honda of Greenville for the third time to address a seemingly simple task on my 2015 Honda Fit. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired and I am compelled to share my disappointment. Also note that I have attempted to reach out to them privately to their service manager with zero response. First and foremost, the task took three separate trips to the dealership, which was a significant inconvenience. Not only did it take much longer than the estimated time, but it also proved to be very expensive. The entire ordeal felt like a never-ending cycle of additional repairs and costs, despite the fact that my car was functioning perfectly fine and all that needed to be done was to install a new cover on my side view mirror. It raises questions about the credibility of the suggested repairs, considering the constant need for further fixes. One aspect that particularly troubled me was the impression that I was targeted as a female customer who may not be well-versed in the technicalities of my own vehicle. I sensed a lack of transparency and felt as though I was being taken advantage of. The absence of any visual evidence or demonstration of the purported broken interior pieces further fueled my skepticism. Without being shown the problems firsthand, I have no way of verifying if they genuinely existed or if they were created during my visits to the shop. Since leaving the dealership, my side view mirror now wobbles and creates a whistling sound, the camera is no longer calibrated and has created a safety concern, my window makes a crunching sound when rolling to down and stops at a certain point, and I am having issues with my starter system all as a result from my visit to Fred Anderson Honda. I believe this is because they were in over their skis and attempted to make a repair and only further damaged my vehicle in the process by removing the battery and door panel when all I needed was a snap on side view mirror cover, that admittedly I could have probably done it myself, but I thought to myself that I should have the help of the experts. Throughout my interactions, I did not feel valued as a customer. Each time I left the dealership, my car seemed to be in a worse condition than when I arrived. The deteriorating state of my vehicle and the subsequent doubts about the quality of the service provided have eroded any trust I had in returning to Fred Anderson Honda for future needs. Ultimately, my recent visit was marked by poor service and a sense of being rushed through the process. I left the dealership feeling unsatisfied and with a growing reluctance to entrust my car to their care again. It is with regret that I conclude that I will seek out alternative options for my automotive needs in the future. My only hope in restoring trust in this dealership is their desire to make this right and help fix all the things they made worse. I sincerely hope that this review serves as constructive feedback for Fred Anderson Honda of Greenville. Experience here was so horrible, I feel obligated to leave a review. This is long, so strap in. I traded in my old car and purchased a new Honda in July. My salesperson (Terry) was great, but the finance person (Matt) was condescending and patronizing. He started by giving me rate options for the extended warranty. I declined immediately, but he wouldn't let it go. He kept asking why, saying I would regret it when the car gave out, and it wasn't that much money. I told him we needed to move on several times and he kept going back to it. He also implied that the car would have NO WARRANTY if I didn't get the extended warranty. After I threatened to leave, he dropped it. The monthly payment options he showed me for financing were way too high and I told him so. My credit check had been done and I should have been getting a 4.9% interest fee and the rates were with an 8.9%. Rate changed to what I anticipated and I bought the car. So all of that was annoying, but I could live with it. My real issue began when they did not register my car and SC law states that a car must be registered within 45 days of purchase. After 45 days, I called the dealership to see what was up. They said they were very backlogged and they would get to it when they could. I call a couple weeks later and reception forwards me to someone and it goes to voicemail. And it goes on like that for weeks, calling and being forwarded to voicemail. On October 17th, 3 months after I bought the car, it was still unregistered and I had not received any answers from the dealership. A cop knocks on my door and says that my license has been suspended for driving my old car without insurance. I told him I didn't own that car anymore and that my Honda was insured, but not registered. After explaining the story, he told me to go to the DMV with proof of insurance and a bill of sale for my Honda so I can register myself and a bill of sale for my traded car to prove I didn't own the car to get my license reinstated. I took the next day off of work to settle this issue and go to the DMV. I get my license reinstated (Honda had the title for my old car, so they also didn't unregister me from that) and the DMV tells me that my brand new Honda is already registered to someone else and that I needed to talk to the dealership. I go to the dealership and Matt (finance demon) tells me that the dealership accidentally registered someone else with my cars VIN before I bought my car. So the entire time I was calling and they were ignoring me, they knew that they had made a mistake and were doing nothing to fix it. I asked what would be done to fix this and Matt tried to placate me and said it would be resolved next week and he would call me when it was. At this point, I no longer had a license plate on my car and asked if I could have a dealer plate or temporary while I waited for my new plates. Matt said no. He also did not call me the next week or answer my calls. Receptionist told me he was on vacation. First week of November, I ask to speak to a general manager and get their voicemail. Then I call Terry's cell, my original salesman, who had given me his business card. I hadn't spoken to him since I bought the car. I told him the whole story and he was apologetic and said he didn't know anything about this and would call the business office to let them know what was happening and asked me to come in the next day to sort things. Terry gives me a dealer plate and says that he will personally make sure that this gets sorted. I just received my registration and new plates in the mail yesterday. I skipped lunches, took days off, and had my license suspended because of this dealership and after 4 months, i'm finally driving my registered car. Almost every person I dealt with is either an incompetent idiot or a duplicitous, deceitful, self-serving idiot. Or maybe the issue is Fred Anderson buying out the company and making everyone cut corners and screw people over so they can make a higher profit. Seriously, buyer beware. read more

I went with my mom to look at buying a new vehicle. Alex was her saleswoman and did an excellent job! They treated us very well, offered us water often (it was hot!) and made sure we were comfortable. Nathan helped my mom with her financing and he was very knowledgeable and friendly.
