Took a 2016 Volkswagen beetle in for a recall service and that was it. Completed the service within a couple hours. The problem is that they will not stop blasting my email as well as everyone in my contact list and then their contact list. Much like a highly infectious disease. No matter how many times I unsubscribe they will not stop blasting me with text messages and emails. This sounds like something, an elderly person might struggle with, however I am very tech fluent and I cannot get them to stop. I know it's a business model, but it's also very unprofessional and a rather slimy tactic. If you thought, Temu or Amazon was bad with promotional ads these guys take it to another level. I bought a used VW a couple of months ago and brought it to Steve White for an issue with the key. The service writer I talked to was not only unfriendly, from the answers he gave, he did not want to deal with me. He wanted to do diagnostics for $120, which would not be applied toward any work done there. All together. It would have cost me more than $350 to do what he recommended, with no guarantee that I would have a key that worked when they were finished. A mechanic came up when I was getting in my car and said they could do a very quick test to see if my key could be reprogrammed. The service writer essentially told him to mind his own business and gave him dirty looks for talking to me. I then drove to Vic Bailey VW in Spartanburg where they were friendly, helpful and are fixing my problem for less that half that amount. Guess where I'll be going from now on read more

Recently purchased a jet ski, but didn't have a towing capable vehicle at the time (talk about putting the cart before the horse!). I inquired online about a Tiguan, and received an email from Lisa, who was an absolute superstar. Accommodating, efficient, personable, professional, reliable, honest, helpful... these words barely do her justice! After further discussing my needs, we concluded that the Tiguan might not possess the towing capacity I was looking for. As it was a secondary vehicle, I didn't want to spend a ton on an Atlas, so she showed me a Pilot with all the features I needed and took great care in making the process painless and convenient, keeping me updated all the while and working with my schedule. I have had my share of ups and downs with Steve White service. However, I have never had Patrick. He is awesome. He communicated very well and made sure that whatever was wrong with the vehicle he would check with me before doing any expensive work. They looked the car over for about a couple of hours and determined it was ok. My girl is just getting older! I purchased a 2017 Jetta from another dealer, I began to have problems with my bright lights coming on on their own. It was found that the other dealer had installed a gps wired it into my light switch and caused it to short out my BCM. The service department went above and beyond even giving me a 2022 loaner while mine was being repaired. I didn't even purchase from them. That's awesome. Thank You David and all involved. The service department has always been very thorough. Never had an issue & very informative with pricing. Always leave feeling so secure in my vehicle. The dealership area was very wishy washy when it came to the sell of my car. They showed interest in purchasing my vehicle & I was handed a print out stating I could come back when I was ready for them to actually purchase. I came back a week later with the paper and pretty much gave them the keys to my car & my title with no payment in hand. I was told he would be right back with the check as he walked out of the room. He came back in the room and informed me the owner wasent in yet & he would have to wait on him to come in and sign the check. Was told they would drop the check off to my job later that afternoon? After waiting 5-6 hours on the "owner to show up to the dealership to sign the check" ... I started speaking to other employees who informed me the owner does not have to be present and managers can sign checks. I eventually backed out of the sale because I felt very uneasy with all the different information. The manager came outside and apologized for the confusion & let me know the checks are usually not available until the next business day. I would've been fine with that if they told me that that morning as I waited around all day on it. Everyone I've ever met at Steve white has always been very nice & professional. Her relaxed, no-pressure approach and witty responses put us at ease. She made the whole process easy and...dare I say it? Fun. Yes, you read that right - it was fun. I negotiated a deal on a new car with 5 miles on it (See attached). I drove 3 hours from Knoxville to pick it up. When I got there, it was a demonstrator with over 10,000 miles on it. I've dealt with one salesman in particular for every single transaction, because he is always honest, helpful and follows up to see how I'm doing after a purchase. His name is Ron Johnson. He's pretty easy to spot - he's the very tall guy with an office that is literally overflowing with Salesman of the Month, and other awards. I've had issues with a couple of my vehicles - everyone does. What sets Steve White apart is their execution and follow through that is consistent every single time I have an issue. I have never had an issue where the sales team misled me or provided incomplete/inaccurate information. The bottom line is this: Steve White and Ron Johnson are trustworthy individuals who have both been a part of the Greenville community for a long time. They remain successful in their business because they are honest, helpful and work very hard not just to sell you a car, but to make a positive difference for you. I have purchased around 10 vehicles from Steve White and Ron Johnson, and I will continue to purchase from them because of the reasons that I stated above. No BS - take a look at my other reviews. I was very surprised that this dealership wanted to charge me almost $300 to replace one tire due to a nail puncture. I took the car to discount tire and they told me no problem, they could fix it and charged me nothing to do it. I was expecting better service from a dealership so was disappointed when compared to the great service from the the folks at Discount Tire. If customers are expected to pay a premium to bring vehicles somewhere that is supposed to specialize in VWs and they can't do something simple like take a nail out of a tire without trying to make you buy a new 300 dollar tire I wouldn't trust them with anything. read more

I received an internal document some weeks ago noting that Steve White VW/Audi has been using off-market fluids when performing DSG flushes on their customers' vehicles since 2010. I spoke with the Service Manager first weeks ago when I became aware of the situation, he stated that it was because it was cheaper than what VW mandates (seriously, he said that!). I've since spoken with the Regional Operations Manager, GM, Sales Manager, Service Manager and VW America Corporate. All have admitted that this dealership has been using the fluid since 2010 and is still using it to this day. It's stated in the document and supported by these parties that it doing so voids power-train warranties prior to 60,000 miles. The Regional Operations Manager, Chris, was on-site "investigating" this situation this week, admitted that it was common practice at Steve White VW/Audi but offered no assurances of a solution. I wish anyone who seeks to buy or that has bought since 2010 from this dealership the best... We recently had the opportunity to replace my wife's car with a new Audi. She had been driving an Accord Crosstour but wasn't happy with it. Having had 6 Audis between us over the last 10 years, she decided to "go back." We looked at models on Audiusa.com and found the A4 was pretty competitively priced. We made an inquiry and the local dealership's (Steve White Audi) internet sales person, Annie, contacted me immediately via email. We both went in on a Saturday as I was looking at the A5 model myself for when my lease ends (2014). We test drove the A5 and it was wonderful with a showroom sales person, Kerri Hill. Kerri was extremely friendly and was talking with Lisa about the A4s in stock as she was looking for a non-Quattro version before we departed. Lisa agreed to return and look at that model mid-week. Lisa and Kerri agreed on a deal and she found a beautiful Moonlight blue metallic model. It was a good price mad great by the fact that they bought Lisa out of her Lisa more than 6 months early! Less than a week later, we "took delivery." This consisted of Kerri driving the Audi to our home over lunch hour, dropping it off, and driving the Honda away! What service!! All in all, a great buying experience. The only blemish was the sales staff missing a Summer of Audi promotion I found online that knocked ~$1,000 off out of pocket costs at delivery. I saved thousands making my purchase out of town all due to the salesperson at Steve White NOT sending me a buyer's order at my request like the other five + dealers I contacted out of state. On top of saving on the vehicle's price, I was offered highly discounted service, maintenance, and platinum warranty packages some in which Steve White either doesn't offer or if they do the prices are Doubled. **Recently I took my 2015 Jetta in to have the battery cable tightened because of a recent self removal prior to vacation. I was informed by the service department that the bolt was striped and the entire battery cable needed to be replaced for approximately $300.00 with parts, taxes, and labor. When I inquired about the warranty covering the bolt I was told it would not be covered. Following my visit I reached out to Volkswagen of America who agreed with me the bolt should be replaced. After Volkswagen of America contacted Steve White, Steve White convinced Volkswagen of America the bolt should not be replaced. Volkswagen of America also said warranty covered repairs was at the discretion of the "DEALER I choose" since they see the car. A few days later I went to another volkswagen dealership who NOT ONLY f i x e d my existing cable but they did it for FREE along with a free multi point inspection that lead to them topping off my Ad-Blue for FREE which Steve White quoted at $25.00 per gallon! **A month ago I pointed out to Steve White my new car had spots in the paint that would not come off during a regular wash, which led to the Service Manager telling me to wax it (non warranty issue). However the dealer I purchased my car from had a Five-year protection warranty that covers any paint or interior issue included . After filing the claim a company came from Columbia and detailed my entire car "FOR FREE!" I would like to thank Steve White for continuing to operate the way they do, after the battery incident I came close again to being discouraged from keeping my "Biggest Scandal in American Car Buying History T.D.I." I've already booked a hotel and projected service date for my 10k service at the out of town dealer. What's saddest is Steve White is less than one mile from my home. I am writing this review in hopes to help others not be misinformed like I was after purchasing a brand-new car for the first time ever. I purchased my vehicle October of 2021 while signing paperwork for my car, it was damaged by the detailers. While getting my car fixed, I was 7 months pregnant, and was without my car for over 3 weeks. While servicing my car on 10/05/2022 they lost my key in another customers car that lived in Union, SC. I was without my car for an entire week, and given a rental to drive. They ended up ordering an extra key fob because they weren't sure that they would be able to get my original key back. After that, I went to pay my 2022 taxes I was informed that my tags were not properly transferred by Steve White VW, and I ended up paying over $1300 to the tax office and DMV in one day. Steve White VW informed me that they had not made any errors with transferring my tag, but obviously an error was made somewhere. I voiced a complaint to Marc White who then transferred my complaint to Brian Scully, who then offered to pay off my current loan and give me the market value of my car towards a new or certified pre-owned vehicle of my choice. Well, I wasted my time for two nights in a row test driving cars and falling in love with a vehicle. They ran my credit through several banks for the WRONG vehicle that I never wanted and was $5000 more than what I wanted to pay for a car. They also asked me to put $11,000 down on the vehicle that I didn't even want. No one from the finance office or the salesperson that I was working with knew of the deal that Brian Scully had made me. Not one time did Brian Scully tell me that he basically was going to do a "trade in" with my vehicle. If I had known that he was just attempting to manipulate me to do a "trade-in" I would have never gone through with the "deal". I hope and pray that this never happens to another customer, and they try to make better experiences with future sales. read more

I have brought my 06 VW Passat here for maintenance and have recently had some repair work done (timing belt, alternator, thermostat) and the service was great. My service advisor Ryan Dunlop did an excellent job keeping me up to date on the progress of the repair and explained everything very well. They are a bit more expensive than other places but it is worth having it done right! My previous VW dealer that I went to (Burnsville VW, Minnesota) had a loyalty discount for oil changes (buy 5 get 6th free) which would be nice if this dealer offered something like this. Not even worthy of 1 star! Went to SWVW on July 11, 2019, for an oil change and tire rotation. Repeat, oil change and tire rotation. 16 short miles after leaving the dealership, my engine seized and turbo blew. Long story short, not sure what they did after I had it towed (at my expense) back to the dealership but they did not offer to replace my engine or turbo or volunteer to dig deeper beyond their "complimentary one hour of diagnostics." Untruths have been told. They're battle cry is "coincidence." Two major components involving lubrication fail 16 mikes after an oil change. Not coincidental! A true David and Goliath story. They've never even offered to cover the towing. Much more to the story but enough for now. I've been without my car for almost 3 months. They act as if the care but they do not. read more

I have been in the market for a Volkswagen GTI since I was able to drive. I walked into the dealership and was met by the Sales Staff and was surprised by how they weren't trying to get me to commit to buy, but instead talked me through the features of the GTI versus the VW Golf and the VW R32. We took out each model for a test drive and I wasn't pressured to sign anything. I left and did a little more research and although I did not commit to buy, I know that when I am ready to buy that VW GTI that Steve White Volkswagen will be my first choice. read more
