It is getting towards the Holidays, and vintage Christmas decorations were out in force. There are treasures to be found, but vendors know their goods, and prices $$$ can reflect that. I took the shoes in hoping to exchange them but was told only the manager could do that and they didn't see a reason why she wouldn't. I bought a second pair and the same thing happened in 3-4 days. I took both pairs to the store when the manager was in and she almost immediately told me I was doing something to cause this like hooking my feet on something? I felt she was a little aggressive. She refused an exchange/refund and suggested I contact Hoka directly. I did and received a full refund. As it turns out, that is a known issue and something they addressed when designing the Gaviota 4. I thought the employees at this store were very knowledgeable and helpful. I told the associate what I was needing and she brought out a pair of Ecco sandals and encouraged me to try them. I turned up my nose because they were NOT the style I was looking for, but I tried them on to humor her. Holy smokes they were my saving grace! I wore them every day of my trip with little to no foot pain. That is something for someone with falling arches, internal pronation, and plantar fasciitis.
