I come here for the gas on my way back to Portland. They have some of the lowest gas prices in the state - no lie. Their gas station is relatively small.. they have 3 lanes for self serve, and 3 (?) lanes for full serve. It can go fast, but times where it seems like it's forever. Self serve should be in n out! The parking lot can be busy and get backed up with traffic trying to get in and back to the Main Street. Must have a Costco membership to use. read more

Watch out for the cashier by the self checkout who seems to have a problem with women. He came up to me right as I'm putting my items back in the cart and starts saying "where's your receipt" "where is it" I had been on the phone with a friend in deep conversations so that's why I did self checkout. My snap card didn't work because I was out of funds so tried twice before using my debit card. I had put the receipt in my cart without thinking but he totally rolled up on me like I had done something wrong. He had a late middle age intimation ex cop vibe. Pre-signed my recipe, again in an authoritative way when I would have had to do that at the door anyway acting like he was entitled to question me. The guy at the door was really nice and we've chatted a few times. I was shaken and he put me at ease. Honestly the check out guy personality should not be the allowed at checkout where people are choosing to spending money and being treated like criminals. I had my 1 1/2 son with me and felt protective about the situation. I felt he was taking his personal issues with women out on me. If you see a dude that looks like an ex cop steer clear, especially if you're a woman with a child. I enjoy chatting with the rest of the staff and the sample people. This incident stuck with me. I hardly ever wright reviews so that's how powerful this interaction was. read more

The management seems to have more of a head on their shoulders when it comes to customer service. I've had poor experiences with their employees driving through their fuel stations on more than one occasion. I'm told they can pre set or they can't. It all depends on who is working that day. I've lost interest going through those lanes. I will pump my own gas from now on. It seems they aren't all on the same page customer service wise. The last time I was there, I was told by a gal named Melissa, "I'm only human" when I asked her if she could do a certain amount for my gas. She was combative and rude towards me right off the bat. I'm an understanding person, but her approach and attitude really sucked. I have no clue who this person is or if she's menstruating. It gives none of them any right to be rude or condescending. Wow, the chicken bake is so salty now! I also didn't appreciate getting a paper straw. For the store itself, it's always neat and clean. They were out of a couple of things on my shopping list. I noticed some items here are priced higher than other stores. The employees are usually very courteous and helpful. The employees that I spoke with were incredibly rude when I asked clarifying questions about my membership as well as at check out. The prices are astronomical. $25 for a soup! We had a $300 order and forgot to present our $172 certificate from Costco. We were dismayed because we'd planned on using this for the day's shopping spree at Costco. Free money. We bought alot. We thought we'd see what they could do and reached out to Tia at the customer service desk. She gave us several options, but also indicated she could re-run our order back through the cash register, zero out the balance, and start all over. Tia must've been gone 15". (We bought a ton of stuff). Anyway she was able to get this done, use our gift certificate, and bring our balance down under $100. What was impressive was her kind demeanor and her can do it attitude. We were very grateful as I really didn't want that much on our card. My Dad stops in here several times a month on his way to Salem to get my Grammy groceries. It is pretty easy access on, and off Interstate 5 which is convenient. It is your normal standard Costco, they have quality foods, and product. The last time we stopped my Dad bought a cheesecake that had a caramel pecan topping that he wanted me to split with my Grammy. At first I was not interested. I am a fruit person myself. I tried one bite and that was all it took. I was sold. Costco really has one of the better bakeries around! I thought my Step Dad made some quality cheese cake that looked like it came from a bakery so I never wanted to try anyone else's. But I am here to tell you Costco has some great stuff. Let me start off by saying that the fuel service is good with good people that fill my car. However, the food selection (Frozen Cooked Chicken) is very poor. What I did get was so dry it was like eating toothpicks (Tru Grill Grilled Chicken Strips). I am amazed that they have no other cooked frozen chicken in the entire store. When I called into complain about the poor Tru Grill Chicken, I had a horrible telephone experience. I called back the next day and Brad stepped up and took care of it. But, not having a selection of frozen cooked chicken and what they did have being poor, I have decided to go somewhere else for food. It's not worth the hassle. read more

Costco does a good job of keeping consistency in their business. Granted, products rotate often and locations tend to carry regional items... But that's a draw for us. We like checking out costcos in other markets and we find lots of new things. We like this spot since it's easy on/off w I-5 and this location has gas. One weird thing this visit was the food court employee said she couldn't cut my sons slice in half... Something we have had done at many locations for a long time. read more

Costco in Albany Oregon has always been bad with covid19 safety protocols and still can't seem to get their customers to follow mask policies. I bought tires at the Albany Costco a few years ago with a 70k mile warranty. After 40k miles, the tires are bald--especially on the outside edges, but only slightly less so in the center. However, when I brought them in, I was told that the uneven wear indicated an alignment issue, which voided the warranty. I brought the car to Les Schwab for a second opinion and they were incredulous--they said they would definitely honor the warranty in that situation. Costco may seem worth the multi-hour wait times because it's modestly cheaper up front, but you pay for it eventually. read more

We splurged and bought 2 hot dogs & soda today something we haven't done since the pandemic began a year ago. Never again...we asked for onions, nope they don't have them any more. We received a hot dog on a bun, no condiments. The straws are now paper. Have you tried drinking with a paper straw? It affects the taste of the soda. I reached out to Costco to be a food sponsor for our event. This is a primary way Costco markets themselves. They provide hot dogs/buns or bottled water (lots of it) in exchange for a table where they can promote Costco memberships. Ken, their local marketing manager, quickly agreed and all of a sudden, we had 360 all-beef hot dogs and 360 buns. That's a nice example of a large business acting small and supporting their local community. But it didn't end there: About 4 hours before the event started, it was clear to me based on RSVP's and buzz emanating from the internets, that our attendance was going to be significantly higher than we anticipated. I didn't have time in my schedule to get over to Albany to buy additional food- so I reached out to Ken and asked if I could somehow order extra, and just write him a check when he got to our venue. Long story short- Ken ended up bringing a big order of additional items I requested. A ton. And, brought a couple loaner ice chests to keep the hot dogs cold. Awesome, outside-of-the-norm service that made an enormous impression on this business guy. I already loved Costco because of their values and culture- but it was really fun to see them in action on Saturday. read more

I only got gas here and It was the best spot in Oregon! It wasn't busy and I had a chance to banter with the crew. I thought I was on a South West airline flight. Quite a nice relief since I had just driven up from LA on Sunday to Seattle and I was making my down to Walnut Grove, CA. Love this store! You need a membership but totally worth it. If you are hungry when you arrive hit up the great prices food court before you shop so your wallet doesn't see the difference. I bought a cat tower for almost 100$ and the customer service team here said they would hold it overnight so we could get a bigger car, and they put it back on the floor and someone else bought it. We had our receipt and I do taped to it and the Costco team decided to put it back in the floor. It was the last one of that kind. I'm torn, costco has a lot A LOT of stuff in bulk which is good because I don't have to go out to the store when I stock up for a while. I also really like the older lady that works in the tobacco area, she's VERY friendly, and always remembers me when I come in for my husbands chew. I do have to say that like most costco's it's a feeding frenzy in there of multiple people going here just to eat lunch or dinner and blocking the aisles from anyone getting through so that they can try to get 5 free samples of the same thing while trying to distract the employee before moving on to the next flippin free sample. Seriously people take ONE sample and move on, if you like it BUY IT no one wants to get stuck behind your ass with no way around and something they need in sight but out of reach; while you proceed to ignore their "excuse me please" then when I push your cart out of the way that you just left in the middle of the way you try to glare at me, get out of the fudging way, shit. There's also an employee that tries to give me an attitude every time that I go in because one time my son was playing with a log of chew and threw it on the ground and when I turned around to pick it up he gave me an attitude and asked if I paid for it, when I said yes he told me he didn't want to pick it up every time my son dropped it, well I never asked you to pick it up for me, d bag. The parking can get pretty packed too, it's usually more annoying when you get someone who has to pull in and out of a spot 10 times before they're "parked" or the individuals who want to walk down the middle of the road instead of getting to one side, because apparently everyone wants to drive behind them while they walk slowly. The pizza is good, and you get A LOT for under 10 bucks, my son and husband also love the hot dogs here and my daughter likes the sundae's in addition to the pizza. It's a good place to go, best times are early in the morning or right before closing (assuming you'll be done prior to closing) The short haired lady behind the customer service kiosk when you go by the exit that wears the tight pants, also has an attitude about 75% of the time, like she doesn't like her job, or shouldn't be in the customer service field because she seems like she doesn't like dealing with them and tries to argue and tell the customers that they're wrong and she's right. read more

I used the self check out line where an employee was standing monitoring the machines. It was very close to closing and there was a big line behind me so I placed an empty box on the scale to begin scanning my items and load them into the box. The machine wouldn't allow me to continue so I asked the employee if she could zero out the scale with the box on it so I could continue scanning my items. I'm not sure if she didn't want to or didn't have the ability to but she just kept repeating herself that the scale senses every single item placed on it. Seems pretty self explanatory, I didn't need the repeating explanation. But she grabbed the box and placed it on the floor. I had to scan all of my items, place them on the scale even though I ran out of room on the scale (she had me stacking fragile things), pay, then remove my items from the scale, and THEN box them, and put them back in my cart. It's not a very efficient system at all when you have high traffic and long lines. Even the Walmart the attendant can zero out the scale for you so you can use your own bags. This Costco location was frustrating and actually took longer to check out than if you just have an employee scan your items. Also, our pizza was burned and there is no clear soda at the fountains. read more

Standard Costco that we've grown to love. We stopped off to get drinks/snacks for work gathering to fuel us through the long days of meetings. This seems to an older Costco with a bit less selection, but still has most of what become accustomed to. Workers are friendly here as well as other Costcos. read more
