Leaving things like the parking lot out of it, this store has become an utter disappointment. Since COVID-19 made an appearance, I've seen employees without masks, employees with masks under their chins, and zero being done about it. Today (6/26) in this region every single person (barring medical necessity not to) is required to wear a mask. The guy at the customer service counter with, "Son of a bitch..." on his shirt? Not wearing one. The employees milling around? Lots of them not wearing one. The customers? Not wearing them? Fred Meyer seems to be doing nothing about it. I've been a long standing fan of Fred Meyer because of its selection and pricing, but I no longer feel safe in a store that clearly doesn't care about me, my family, or my community. I don't care if I end up with pallets of things, at least the Costco nearby in Tukwila requires all persons entering to have a mask on, and their employees as well. read more

So pissed off. I called yesterday the grocery department and told the kid working to put a hold on a smoked whole turkey. Keep in mind this is a week in advance before Thanksgiving. The kid over the phone didn't act like he knew what to do so he asked his co-worker if they were allowed to put holds on items. He told me that he would put a hold on a smoked whole turkey for me under my mother-in-laws name since she was going to pick it up the next day. Next day comes and she went to the meat and deli department and was told that they didn't have any smoked turkeys that they have been out since last week. Not only was I miss informed but they shooed her off like nothing. I called them and asked about the hold they supposedly put for the turkey and they told me the same thing they told my mom. This is probably my favorite fredmeyers that I been too. The best things about this location is that they're neat and clean, usually stocked in every department and lines go pretty fast when checking out. All of the employees that I have interacted with had good customer service. Whenever I have had a question or a hard time finding something the employees drops what their doing just to take me to that item. The produce employees are also great and informational they do a great job at keeping the produce looking nice and never mind a question or two. The one con that I have is the parking lot is always full unless you park really far away from the entrances but I can't fault them for that. I do wish they had a security to manage the parking lot. It doe seem like some of the cars that never move may belong to employees, and I think its only right that paying customers have the close parking spots. read more

I have only been here a couple times before and never knew how much stuff they really have or how good the deals are. Fred Meyers is more than a grocery store, it has clothing, toys, holiday items, home goods, and more. I needed a sewing machine and they had one and even matched a competitor's price. Janet from Customer service was helpful and patient and even told us about a coupon in the current ads that saved us an additional $20. She was friendly and kind which is so refreshing during these trying times. I will definitely be returning. read more

Twice I was at the Deli counter waiting to be waited on and was ignored. One of the employees saw me and kept going. The 2 ladies that work there waited on 2 other people and ignored me. Was overcharged for gas on Friday about noon. Asked for 15 dollars and did not realize he had charged my card $50. I didnt realize it didnt stop at $15, so I stopped it at 20.81. He was distracted and on phone entire time I was there, so he apologized and handed me a refund receipt for 29.19 and said it would be back on my card immediately. I checked with my bank, no refund has been processed by Fred meyer. Talked to a manager several times yesterday and found out at 3:45pm that I had to bring my receipts in because they dont have record of it. It took over an hour because traffic was bumper to bumper from shoreline where I am staying. When I got there that manager had gone home and I was told that the morning PIC would look into it. I called about 9am and talked to that person and she told me she was too busy too look into it . Ok so she is busy, I now have been waiting over 24 hours for an answer and almost 48 since the purchase. I just need to know if it was processed. If I dont receive a call by noon, Fred Meyer will lose our household as a customer and we spend alot there as it is the main place we shop. The trip to bring the receipts in used 1/2 the gas I bought on Friday, so maybe you owe me something for my trouble! read more

I use instacart and have to shop at this location. I am usually having to substitute a lot of items or there is no stock of popular items. It seems this store can not keep up. The other store in this town is not far away, but has everything in on any given day. This is my grocery store. I go to the Safeway by my house because it's across the street but when I really need to get groceries, I come here. They have an excellent selection of regular as well as natural foods here and prices are great. Butcher is great, with pre-made burgers that are fantastic as well as other yummy meat goods. Bakery is okay, the stuff that looks the yummiest usually isn't but they did a great job on my daughter's princess birthday cake. The staff runs from great to 'meh' here, I have had more than one checker complain about the way they are treated by FM which isn't professional, even if it's true. I also find that the staff are nowhere to be found in the housewares dept when you need help. They do carry tons of cheap seasonal stuff though. I also love the garden department and spend many hours there in the warmer months. The clothing section- don't bother- it's not well stocked. Still, for price and overall 'one stop' option, this place is one of my favorites. read more

Fred Meyer - Department Stores Near Me - Renton, Washington

After experiences in "this part of town" at other grocery stores, I was expecting more of the same chaos in a brick-and-mortar that needed an upgrade or security down each aisle. I've only been here once and it couldn't have just been that I was there on a "good day". The aisles were clean and well-stocked and there weren't police sitting in the parking lot as they do at WalMart in Renton. I've only been to this Fred Meyer once and will definitely not hesitate to return. read more

It's a freddys. It's kept clean and everything is where I expect it. However... this one is interesting in that it has it's clothing section blocked off from The rest of the store. Like, it was two ways in but one way out if you want to look at clothes. I understand that it might help control the flow if ppl and makes it easier to watch ppl but it's not like they require you to pay for things on your way out of the clothing and makeup section so what's the point? The first couple of times I went to this Fred Meyer location, I was unimpressed.....but I have since changed my mind. Produce is fresh and there is a pretty large selection. There are some organic items as well, though the amount is pretty much in line with other Fred Meyer stores. The household sections are pretty expansive - lots of bathroom and kitchen items, as well as office items and storage containers/options. Prices are pretty good - Fred Meyer in general usually has competitive prices. In fact, I've recently switched to using FM as my regular grocery store. The only downside is that lines are often very long. This can be kind of annoying when I just want to run in during my lunch hour to buy something. read more

This is my go-to grocery store in Renton. I make a stop almost every week while I'm here for work to grab some snacks and dinner once in a while. I've never been approached by any strange characters. No problems parking. Check out tends to be a little bit slow though. The best things I like: + Big natural foods section - which gives a nice selection of frozen food, snacks and other things. + Supermarket sushi - it's never going to be amazing and awesome. But for what it is, Fred Meyer seems to do ok. + Prices seem decent enough. I'm sure you could get better deals somewhere, but it's not a rip-off. read more

I feel like a kid in a candy store whenever I'm in the produce/fruit section - my favorite spots to go to. I've really come to love this store now seeing as this is the sister store of Ralph's in California where I used to go a lot to buy my groceries and other stuff after a long day at med school. Though I do wish it's more like Ralph's though with a food bar and more healthy foods. It wouldn't also hurt if it was 24/7 because I think Renton really needs a store that's open 24/7 for those nocturnals like myself. Anywho, absolutely love the little sections of GF, non-GMO, organic, et al foods that they have because I live for those kinds of foods seeing as I am a health nut. Fruits and veggies here are for the most part kept fresh and a lot of organic choices as well. Living in the the middle of what I call the triangle of evil (I live smack dab in the middle of 3 Safeways), options for grocery shopping isn't so much limited as much as Safeway has such a stranglehold on the region and it's just easier to go to them. But every once in a while, I venture out to Renton for a quick fix of the kingdom of Fred Meyer. Their food is of a higher quality the majority of the time, especially the produce. Loves me some fresh produce! And the meat and poultry section isn't too bad either. The convenience of the location with less crazies than Wal-Mart and comparable prices, to boot! And they have that rad totem pole outside again! So yay that! My only gripe is that because the place is so rad, and people are aware of that fact, the place can become an animal house on the weekends, especially a holiday weekend. Get there early when that comes around, bring a Santa sized bag of patience, or sneak in some airplane liquor bottles because you will lose your mind one way or another. read more

I think this is one of the largest Fred Meyers in the state. It is big & bright with wide aisles. Parking is plentiful and the shelves are always well stocked. I especially like their garden department on the North side of the store. The check stands here always have short lines too. The only bad thing is the exit from the parking lot on the North side to make a left hand turn on to MLK Way. Very dangerous intersection. Happy shopping!! read more

My One Stop Shop. Plus it has my dear Seattle's Best Coffee inside as well. It's a huge shopping center, groceries, drugstore, clothing, home appliances, gardening, technology, just anything you would need is located in one place. It's less stressful than WalMart too ;) Their prices are often competitive, and you can get great deals in the drugstore area and groceries, especially their fruit and vegetable section in terms of pricing can't be beat. Parking is a breeze, and just for those who care, the liquor store next door has extended hours. This place has everything you would truly need. read more

Yet another Fred Meyer. The only frustrating part about this location is that apparently the neighborhood is so dangerous they shut down the side entrance early every day. This is a convenient stop if you're headed home from Seattle or just out in Renton. The selection is pretty average. They have put in some new 'security' measures in the clothing department, but you can apparently just walk around it per their employees. I honestly don't know what goes on here anymore, so I get what few things I ever get at Fred Meyer and bail to the nearby bus stops. The bathrooms here are terrible. You're better off going to a local dive bar. I'm serious. Don't even go in there. read more

This is my go to shopping spot in Renton. Walmart is a death trap and the Safeway is expensive an usually has a bunch of older teens just hanging out and causing problems in the parking lot. This Fred Meyers always has sufficient stock of sale items. They have a coupon exchange basket, which I am a big fan of because I do love coupons. My complaints with this Fred Meyer lies with their customer service/lack there of. Almost everytime I go through a normal checkout line, the checker is pissy, unfocused and talking to someone else. There are a few that aren't too bad though. Plus the lines are slow and long. Their service deli has good service but the mozzarella sticks were cold (cheese not melted). Cashiers are notoriously slow, but the overall quality of the store is good. Nice natural food selection, good prices. I stop in a few times a month and have mastered the art of being in-and-out in under 5 minutes. I don't like doing my major grocery shopping here because its too big I spend too much time looking for my favorite brands (that often times they just don't carry). I like to think of myself as a safeway girl... but I keep coming to fred meyer. they truly do have... everything. (or dang near it...) they have a great selection of produce, natural foods, alcohol (both wine and beer), and candy. the deli has a nice selection of salads and sandwiches. (great turkey panini, btw) they also carry random things that I've needed like black acrylic paint, false eyelashes, office chairs, cheap stocking stuffer toys, reuseable coffee cups, shower curtains, rit dye, specific face-wash and lip balm, and 6-layer dip. coinstar and redbox kiosks at the main entrance are convenient. so is the fact that there's a liquor store a couple doors down and a good mexican restaurant across the parking lot. the parking sucks if you come at peak or even semi-peak times. the long lines suck. not having marigold eggnog during the holidays sucks. the restroom is somewhat far from the main entrance. that sucks. the light to get back out to rainier ave takes forever, nomatter what time of day. that sucks, too. but I am admittedly being EXTREMELY petty at this point. its true. what's on my list today? Oh, I do heart Fred Meyer's because I can buy a gallon of milk, a can of soup, organic energy bars, bulk spices, my husband's Diet Mt. Dew, my bottle(s) of wine, produce, deli meat, people soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, cold medicine, a pair of jeans, house plants, a lamp, greeting cards and motor oil all in one easy stop and all at reasonable prices. Funky area but typical Fred Meyer. Prices were good, found everything I was looking for. A bit confusing to get to since I wasn't from the area, kind of a round about way, but it may have been the GPS. This store is clean and the staff is really friendly. Too bad it's located in a not so good area. Occasionally there will be people walking around the parking lot asking for change. One time while walking to my car I heard an entire confrontation between a young lady who gave money to her boyfriend for bills and he spent it all on the casino down the street. I had the worst experience here today. Buying socks/underwear and other items in clothing side of store. Socks underwear were buy one get one 1/2 off. Getting rung up I saw they were not ringing up on sale but the cashier was arguing that there was a discount applied pointing at the screen. After paying $150 by card I looked at the receipt and asked where the 1/2 off was. It was only showing a discount for other items. The other cashier chimed in that the 1/2 off needs to be applied manually if it doesn't apply automatically and I should have told the cashier they were on sale...I told her I DID tell her and she didn't apply discount. They told me I would need to go to customer service to have it applied after the sale. Are you kidding me? Employees aren't empowered to fix their own mistakes? I stood in a long customer service line for a good half hour and I returned all of the items excluding sunglasses my son already put on. They weren't able to put the $ on my original payment method and had to give me cash. Ugh. Bad form fred meyer, what a waste of time. Taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

Would give zero stars. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever dealt with in pharmacy. I've worked in pharmacy for about 20 years. Lost prescriptions, taking 5 days to fill a prescription. Having my dr send prescription in on 11/28/17, then calling me to confirm. The staff claimed they never got it. I was offered an " I'm sorry, I will fax a request to your dr". I was told this ever day from 11/28 until yesterday 12/07. Still nonprescription, but lots of I'm sorries and offers to send yet another request. Finally had Bartells call to transfer, and initially Fred Meyer refused to release my prescription until a copy of the RCW code of pharmacy law and the transfer of prescriptions. Bartells got done in 15 minutes what Fred Meyer could not get done in 1O days. I will never fill my prescriptions there ever again. read more
