I love WinCo so much, even just walking around and browsing is so much fun. When we experienced a huge power outage for a couple days and it was freezing cold, no stores were open, not even Walmart so I decided to check winco right after. It can be hit or miss here. Sometimes I visit and the lines are fairly short. But at least half of the time, the lines are extremely long. On my most recent visit, I spent about 15 minutes in line. It seems like they need to have a few more cashiers available. The quality of most foods are comparable to the national chains, but some of the produce is a little beat up and quality can vary quite a bit from week to week. Product selection is not as expansive as at other stores, but they have most of the essentials here. The bulk section is pretty awesome if you are trying a recipe that requires a special ingredient and you don't feel like buying a big container of something. There are a lot of great nuts, trail mix, baking ingredients, spices, etc. They do a good job of keeping the store clean. I've been waiting in line almost a half hour. Most of these lines are barely moving. This happens ALL THE TIME here. I'm considering bailing on my cart as I usually do when this happens, but I'm loaded up on a ton of stuff that took me a lot of time to connect, so at this point it'd probably be a net loss. The little bit of money you save coming here vs alternatives is more than lost in wasted time. This morning I ventured into wincos and can't just pick up a few things. And I can telll within the first 10 minutes into the grocery store they were having a touch morning. There were no shopping charts inside by the entrance. There was a worker yelling and seemed up set. Also, there was a stocker by the frozen ice breakfast foods and frozen dessert section clearing a pallet and dropping each box to the ground. I know that for a fact because I heard each box drop 3 rows over by the bottle water. Then walked towards the noise, and saw it. No wonder the food is damaged. And I do not eat frozen foods. As I made my way to front to one register open, I noticed a line forming at checkout. As backup arrived, She asked, "Do you really need me, because, if not, I could go back doing what the hell I was doing..." as she opened the register and assisted several customers behind me. I stood patiently wondering what I was missing. As the original cashier thanked us for our patients, it dawned on me, MUSIC! The store was missing music and mostly a bear hug . That was it, with good music playing in the background thier attitudes would have changed. The store needed blue eye soul, Micheal McDonald, Keep Fogetting, or Kenny Logans, This, is It. Something along those lines to change thier dirty floor attitude. Instead, I gave the cashier a compliment, "I hope you have a great day and your doing a great job." Because, whatever music he had playing in his head, kept him calm and constant. Retail is hard I know, and in the mist, of all that you are alive, and able. I'm giving credit where credit is due. I just made home cooked pizza ‍. What I'm trying to say is. I wanted to make pizza at home. But I did not want to make my own pizza dough. So I bought WinCo's pizza dough. I've never made my own pizza. So this was all an experiment. I used a cast iron pan and my kitchen oven. Fallowing basic instructions off of YouTube. My pizza was delicious. And I feel WinCo's pizza dough is perfectly acceptable for home made pizza. It raised up nicely. Got nice and crispy. Was easy to work with. Now to be honest. The pizza may not be as good as you get from your favorite pizza joint. But it is better than a frozen pizza. I will definitely be regularly. So , if you like making home made pizza or want to try making home cooked pizza. Definitely give WinCo's pizza dough a try. read more

I absolutely love winco, but sadly while shopping here one of the workers at the seafood counter sprayed me with the hose. The water got all over me, in my eyes, nose, hair and clothes. When looking at the worker, Dan, he just looked and laughed, didn't apologize or attempt to be sorry didn't even offer a napkin. After being sprayed my sister had yelled "what the ----" in shock and someone behind him yelled it was an accident, refraining to apologize as well. Upon speaking to customer service all they said is they would talk to him and it food got wet they would replace it (not free of charge). There's not much that could be done but even offering a free soda from the fountain could have sufficed, but it just felt like I was completely invalid of my experience to be upset from being sprayed with a high pressure hose that cleans fish tanks. read more

I remember when there was hype about WinCo coming to the South Sound region in the early 2000's. I was like, "What is this WinCo people keep talking about? Is it like Costco?" When it first opened I drove down to 212th and was wondering why they chose a location in a non-residential area behind a bunch of trees...so random. I'm sure the land was cheap at the time. Maybe there was a warehouse there prior to them moving in? When I walked in it kinda felt like Cash&Carry on steroids. You can literally spend an hour+ just walking through the aisles looking at random merch. Sometimes it's like finding treasure since Freddy's or Safeway doesn't carry those certain products. I don't come here often since I don't like bagging my own crap. Yah, I'm lazy :p But it is fun to come here once in a while just to people watch and go treasure hunting. read more

Well today started really good I have to say, I was having a great day until. Until, I went to WinCo., the WinCo in Kent WA store number #0050 and like all WinCo's have some really good fried chicken and my wife wanted some (hey so did I, I won't say no to WinCo fried Chicken). So I feet that it would be the perfect time to get some other items that we needed. This is when our trip to WinCo took a turn to the dark side, no let's be frank it turned ugly, real ugly. I'm not looking for anything, I'm not looking to get anybody fired. While waiting in line, right at the counter, to get fried Chicken for several minutes, we waited waited with no problems while they were restocking the chicken, they spoke to somebody behind me, then she looked at me and spoke to a lady that just walked up. All the people involved including the people behind the counter while different nationality, we are Caucasian, we are white. My wife goes excuse me we were next, I go "what are we invisible" and they just looked at us, like we were aliens, I walked away really upset - no actually pissed. While they reluctantly waited on my wife. One of ladies that was wearing a red apron kept looking over at me, while I was at the Cold Case trying to cool off, she did it several times, she's saw how upset I was and she's just ignored it. I went up grab my wife and just walked away from the counter. This was not first rodeo that have experience this, being raised Jewish, this is was something that I lived with growing up. My wife, this was was new to her and it was ugly. No, before you say anything, I know by the looks and the stairs we got what was going on! My wife saw this for what this was and brought it to my attention before I could said something that this was racism at the height of racism. My wife was almost literally in tears she was so shaken up and shocked by this, she has never experienced anything like this before in her life. She came to me about this, I did not say anything to her before this. She felt so low, almost in tears, misted eyed to a point I just wanted to leave, she wanted to finish getting what we got. To make matters even worse, the cashier knew I was highly upset about something while checking out she kept looking over at us several times. She kept looking over at us and then while leaving she was talking to another employee with a clipboard and they both heard me say I was going to contact corporate office about this, neither of them choose to take time to find out why, to find what happened in store #0050 on May 18, 2023 at 1.42pm But I will tell you this much I don't care how good the fried chicken is, or how low the prices are, it will be a cold day in hell before I subject my wife through this hell again by bringing her to this WinCo store in Kent Wa. read more

Y'all, it's a WinCo in Kent. This is not a fancy place, nor is it a fancy area. I. Love. It. It has what all WinCo have. The prices have gone up a bit with inflation like all places, but it's still cheaper than every other major grocery store. The selection is standard, the shelves are well stocked as long as delivery chains aren't broken, it's spacious, laid out in the original classic design of WinCo for the area so you can memorize where everything is and it'll be right where you left it when you return. It's clean... enough. The bathrooms have saved me many times and they clean them Regularly. I love to go in at 1am. You want a stream of humanity more fun than any Walmart ever? You go here. You can do all your shopping with zero shame if you are madly craving something decadent or just getting back from shenanigans and all you really want are chicken nuggies, but you look like you partied/worked as hard as you did or you can't see the point of wearing anything but pajamas. No one is going to care. No one. There is no judgment here. The checkers are prepared and will not put up with your sass, and I respect that. Definitely lock your car. read more

I very much like this location, the parking, shopping inside is not as congested as the Federal Way location which is closer for me. Aisles seem bigger to me and the store cleaner. The ease to shop is good here from start to finish. Even checkout seems much quicker. The checker who assisted me was very into sterilizing everything which I don't mind at all, clean is good. read more

I've been traveling for many years now. I've even been to this location in the past a few times. This is one of my favorite grocery stores in the Pacific Northwest. I was shopping here a few hours ago, spent over a hundred dollars, made a cute post(positive) on Instagram too. I fell asleep in my van to be awakened by the police I'm now criminally trespassed from here. I go here because it's employee owned, they have great products, and normally great customer service. I called the store manager after the trespass order that they allowed me to stay awhile before having to leave to say thank you, and he was extremely rude to me. Said me spending money in the store and me sleeping for a few hours in his parking lot were independent of each other. I meant the phone call to be appropriative and to tell him how much I enjoyed shopping there and it turned into him being very derogatory towards me. I'm from out of town, and I felt like if I spent good money there, I'd be a valued customer and I could catch a few hours sleep until I had to travel the next day. It's sad to say that Walmart will be my preferred choice going further as I won't be trespassed from there after buying their products and needing to stay until the next morning. All out of Yorkers or travelers should avoid this store at night or overall in my opinion. I drove here from 20 miles away specifically because I've had such good experiences in the past. The check out lady threw me off a bit.. I was standing in line then got a phone call and so stepped ahead to not be all loud and annoying in the line while on the phone. Apparently someone else was paying and the lady literally asked me to move because I could "look at her personal details" and I had to ask like 5 times what she was even talking about before I realize she meant the PIN to her card. LOL WHAT THE HECK. I'm clearly on the phone, like 2 feet away from the card processing machine. And could never have seen that far away on a tiny pad. Such a weird way to treat a customer who steps over to take a phone call. She then Tried talking to me about my experience in the store to make up for it/ like it was fine that she just borderline incriminated me of trying to STEAL someone's pin/ identity info. Like are you kidding me?! I will not be getting in line at her register. Idk if they have self scan but they NEED it/ I need to only use self scan if I decide to even go back.. if it weren't for the experience I would've given a 4 star rating or a 3 star rating but that was completely out of line and was super degrading and unpleasant. The store employees are never happy. I can see why. The store itself is usually pretty clean. Things are kind of randomly placed. Food all over, but also knick knacks all over. The prices are decent, however their cost comparison is always exaggerated. Don't come in on Sundays, there are like 5 checkstands open, and 15 people in each line. You'll be there forever, unless you get lucky and push into a line when someone opens a new stand. read more

On 1/29 my mom and I were checking out at self check out and she was very rude, giving us dirty looks and making condescending faces and remarks, acting like a total child. I don't know if she was mad because she had to come over twice and fix the screen or what but it's very disappointing that winco hires people like that. I don't know if she has a problem with Hispanic people but she didn't talk or treat anyone else that she was helping like that.
