This weeks box contains pumpkins, delicious carrots, radishes, apples and more!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this CSA. They are very accommodating in substituting your order as well as postponing a delivery when you are out of town. Compared to the CSA I had back in San Diego, Pacific Coast Harvest uses no plastic bags and delivers your produce in the night so you wake up (or stay up late enough some nights) to fruits/veggies that haven't been waiting all day in the sun. You also receive a recipe each delivery which is great for some of the items you may not have cooked with before! Their website is also very convenient to update your orders and its great that they provide an option for every other week delivery as well as three different type of boxes: all vegetable, half fruit half vegetable and a Washington Box.

My wife and I have used Pacific Coast Harvest for a couple of years now and have loved it. Their customer service is outstanding and the produce delivered is the highest quality. I've used their service as an opportunity to try out new foods and experiment with my cooking, which has been super fun! When something unexpectedly changes about our order, they proactively reach out to explain what's going on, try to substitute the food as best they can, or provide a discount code for the next order. They've also been able to navigate my large apartment complex and deliver our box directly to our door! Which has been extremely nice :) Overall, highly recommend this local small business! 1/2 fruit 1/2 veggies individual box, regularly $25. $16 total with Yelp deal

I have the 1/2 veggie and 1/2 fruit for $25 a month - although my first week was a Yelp deal special which made it only $16 total. First off I want to say that the customer service is awesome. There was a glitch in their system where they didn't get my delivery instructions (I live in an apartment building in a sketch neighborhood with no office desk) so I didn't get my first box. John emailed me back and apologized and refunded everything and then the next week everything was set straight and I got my first box of goodies! Fruits and veggies were fresh and awesome. I didn't think I could eat through all the vegetables and fruits in a week but they seem to be lasting me exactly about that long. It's awesome to know that I'm eating so many healthy foods. Produce comes in a super cute box that they pack it in - very minimalist and not wasteful at all. I just worry about the fact that my apartment is such a bother that the switch off system might be a bit tricky. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I think their website could be a little more detailed/customizable. I think for most things you need to email them directly to let them know about a change - you also can't really see what you're currently signed up for (what type of box, what size, how frequent you want your deliveries). Also because of the glitch that happened to me, I'm not really sure what information they have down for me because my account only really shows me past/in process purchases and my credit card/apartment.

We switched to Pacific Coast Harvest after trying out a CSA and couldn't be happier! The half fruit half veggie box is the perfect amount of produce for our two person (one cat!) household. Also, unlike our CSA where we were often trying to google what we found in our box and scouring the internet for reasonable ways to cook 17 heads of kohlrabi, there's a nice mix of veggies--plenty of things we already know how to work with (peppers, brussels sprouts, basil, onion, lettuces) also things that are fun and we might not pick up on our own (rhubarb! eggplant!). Plus I love the little wooden crate on our step and lack of plastic/ packaging!

Hi, Do you sell kefir grains?

Hi S K., at this time we do not. We will periodically sell dairy kefir but not in grain form. Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that product!

If I'm outside of delivery range can I come and pick up an order?

Hi Laura, Thanks for asking! Yes, you can pickup at our warehouse in Georgetown. We're on the cusp of launching more pickup locations around the city as well. Please reach out to customerservice@pacificcoastharvest.com and we can help get you set up!

This is a nice co-op grocery in West Seattle near Alki (I don't know the area that well). There is outside parking and a parking garage. It was crowded, yet I get a parking spot quickly. Nice layout. I just walked along the route and found everything I needed without backtracking. In addition to food, they have a large store with organic type soaps and socks and whatnot. Also a large pharmaceutical selection (non-prescription). Staff was very friendly - noticeably so. PCC is a bit out of my budget for regular shopping yet I enjoy patronizing them on occasion due to their business practices and their interesting and appetizing selections.

The delivery to my doorstep is still super-fantastic. The new beautiful things? They now have fruit-only and veggie-only bins! And more importantly... YOU CAN NOW MAKE SUBSTITUTIONS ON THE SITE AND BUY EXTRA ITEMS IF YOU WANT TO! I believe you're limited to 5 substitutions per bin, but that's still awesome! Sometimes I haven't finished the apples yet or know I won't want a certain item the following week, and I love that I can edit my order right on the website (instead of having to email or call). I do like going to shops and markets and picking out my own things, but experience has shown me that I just don't make enough time for that to actually have produce available in my kitchen every day/week. This way I get to discover new items, only have to decide on any substitutions I might want, and it shows up on my doorstep every Tuesday so I always have some (healthy!) food available at home without needing to go shopping. I LOVE IT! *Case of amazing customer service: The owner Carolyn recently called me because she noticed that I had selected the fruit bin, but kept substituting vegetables in. She wanted to suggest switching to the personal mixed bin because then I'd be able to still get fruit and a bunch of other items. I'm so happy I did that because with the fruit bin I kept going crazy and ordering like 10-15 bananas each time. Now I limit myself to 2-4 bananas and get a wider variety of veggies/fruit instead!
