This new renovation is horrible. My mom mentioned it being awful to me in passing and I didn't think much of it, and so was out running errands and decided to stop in. NO. NO. NO. It is HORRIBLE. The layout of items is questionable at best, it feels really claustrophobic, and honestly: they just don't have the space to do what they attempted. The lines to check out are long and disorganized, everyone ends up on top of each other, and there's no way to get around to see if other lines are shorter. Arguably the most notable and biggest deal breaker for us personally: The electronics is no longer a separate section, meaning if you're going in for electronics they're almost all behind a glass case, there's no one to let you in to look at things, and then you have to battle the insanely long line all for one stupid game controller or high ticket purchase -if you can even procure it from behind the glass in the first place. I love Fred Meyer! They literally have everything you need...I could live there! I've been going to this location since I was little. Anyone remember the old layout before the remodel, with the popcorn machine by the cash registers? Anyways, this place has pretty much everything you need to find. If not the EXACT thing or brand, there's always something similar you can get. This store is split in sections. The southern part of the store is all groceries, with a Seattle's Best Coffee and a deli area where you can get hot foods, potato salads and the like. Lots of fresh produce, a seafood/meats area, bakery section, dairy items, and your aisles of everything else. Their natural foods section is awesome! I don't know how the price compares to other stores, but the fact that they carry those items is cool. The middle part of their store was recently moved around, so forgive me if I'm getting some things mixed up. The section next to the food/groceries has toiletry items, greeting cards, make-up, hair products, pain meds, baby items, books and magazines. In the back is the shoe section, and continues into the clothes section. As other Yelpers have said, the clothes at most Fred Meyer locations are the same quality as KMart, Target, etc. Lastly, the northern part of the store has all sorts of stuff. Mostly things for your home: towels, bed sheets, lamps, kitchen appliances, rugs, chairs, notebooks, pens, picture frames, vacuums, and much more. Next to the pharmacy is the electronics section, and I'd have to say it isn't the place to pick up a CD. They don't have a very big selection, and it's pretty small compared to the Fred Meyer in Lynnwood. Have a shelf of iPod speakers/accessories, and a fair selection of TV's, video games, DVD's, and cameras. There's also a toy, garden, paint and sports/auto section, but as another Yelper said, it's creepily dead there. Even the employees are scarce in those parts. I rarely go back there, but when I do, I kinda get freaked out by how quiet and strangely alone you feel back there. All in all, I like this Fred Meyer. I'm curious how Fred Meyer attracts so many sketchy people to shop there. It's not the people who work there, because they are super tolerant and decent. Seriously. I was getting my hunting license here last year and a dude was trying to return a half-drunk bottle of juice for cash. About two months ago we started using the curve by order pick up. The crew is always hustling, polite and timely. They always do a good job gathering (no mistake in item selection), bagging and loading our items. Using the app was easy and you can notify them through the app that you arrived. It is free. We have also been about to do same day pick up. We like that you have many options for pick up time so we can plan it around our other outings. We stopped using Safeway home delivery because mistakes with billing, item selection and timeliness. read more

I just had a job interview here with Roseanne the HR manager. I asked her a key question which I feel everyone should be asking. My question was "what is Fred Meyer doing to keep employees and customers safe?" To which she replied, we're following policy about the masks. So I asked another question. If someone comes to my register, can I refuse service until they put a mask on? Her answer was no, we're not turning anyone away, even if they don't want to wear a mask. I told her it's the law in WA state though, to which she asked very rudely if I was arguing with her. I hadn't even been hired on yet and that was the way she was treating me. So it seems like our health and safety don't even matter to them as long as they make money. Needless to say, it was a hard pass for me. It is a superstore...so they carry just about everything. Great sales if you are willing to buy more at once (extra money off if you buy enough grocery items on their given list). Their holiday section is always really overloaded and they end up selling a ton via clearance tables at the end of the season (stock up for next year!). The pharmacy is quick to fill prescriptions and they have accepted every insurance we have used (there is an app rating local prescription prices and FM is always one of the cheapest...FYI). Evenings and weekends are packed...they have a lot of theft issues so the door alarms are always going off...and there are always homeless people at the entrances to both the parking lot and the store itself. read more

Some of the long time staff here are wonderful, but lately the store has been hiring new employees who are rude, sullen and don't wear their masks. I hate going in this store now because it seems so dirty and germ-filled. The mask mandate is not enforced, and the new staff can be seen with their masks around their chins, or taking them off completely. This is a failure of management. read more

Worse than the worst Safeway from the 1990's. Whole store feels dark and sad. Lines somehow are longer and slower. How??? I tried the self check out; as you stand in line you watch yourself and your fellow prisoners on a huge screen that flashes the words MONITORING in red. The check out stations are crammed together, like touching elbows; think prison shower. You are treated to a camera on your face (also MONITORING) as you weigh your bananas, like you're at an ATM. I shop here for personal and work and have never had any issues with staff or well, much of anything. The biggest issue I've had was catching a guy using his camera to peep into a fitting room after I'd just left it. Since their most recent remodel, though, they've become little more than an expanded QFC, cutting out most everything which isn't groceries. We like the selection and prices in the store but the check out lines are so awful we won't be back. Last night we waited 28 min to check out (2 lines open plus self checkout from 8-830 pm). I'm happy to self checkout when it's just me or if I have a few items but I had a week's worth of groceries and a 2 year old so it wasn't a good option. There was no one to help bagging (even though a woman in front of us was in a wheelchair) until it was our turn (even though I was happy to bag ourselves. She boxed me out). Worst pharmacy ever. Hands down no questions asked. My prescription is a controlled substance(that I didn't know). They transferred my lyrica to QFC without telling me it couldn't be switched again without my doctors okaying it. I called FMP on Wednesday and I was told my prescription would be ready by Friday. Friday rolls around and nothing. I gave them the weekend to get fill. Come Monday(only having enough pills for today) they tell me that they can't fill my prescription and because it's a controlled substance. Why couldn't they tell me this in the first place? Why couldn't they have told me on Wednesday? They are also incredibly condescending and rude.It's clear that they don't care about their patients. I'd rather die from withdrawal than ever return to this pharmacy. read more

I love the remodel of this store. There is plenty of room for two carts to pass each other in the aisles. It is a much more pleasant shopping experience. The store is much less congested now. Produce is mostly of good quality and reasonably priced. I like that you can buy organic produce much cheaper than PCC and Whole Foods. My only complaint with this and all Fred Meyer's is the meat quality but I only like Double DD, Thriftway and Central Market meat. read more

It was an emergency shopping for my mushroom hunt trip the next day. When I went there, it was pretty late. I was trying to find a basket which I can put mushroom in while hunting. I didn't want to walk around and look for one. Therefore, I just asked an employee at the store. She was so friendly and gave me general direction to where I should be. My experiences over the last year or so at this location have not improved. Rather, it has gotten worse. I've been going to Freddy's in Oregon and Washington for over 20 years. This is by far, the worst location I've been to. I must say that the customer service here is pretty good, which is why I'm giving it 2 starts, instead of 1. Whether I've encountered stock clerks, cashiers, or customer service reps, they've all offered me good customer service and that is commendable. That being said, there is so much room for improvement here. I mentioned the produce in my last review. It is now to the point where I don't buy ANY produce here which defeats the purpose of "one stop shopping." Additionally, the meat is okay but again, the price to quality ratio is way off. It's okay to have expensive meat if there is corresponding quality but that's not the case. Another frequent issue is being out of sale items. Now, if this were 20 years ago, I would understand that grocers may have issues ordering appropriate stock for customers. However, with the advent of the Fred Meyer Rewards card, there is a way to track purchases and therefore, make educated decisions about how much stock to order. I often stop here because I am going by on the way home. It's very frustrating that every trip here ends with a stop at another store because the product was subpar, overpriced, or not on the shelf. read more

A few years back I did some price comparisons between Safeway, Top Foods, and Fred Meyer. I expected there might be some slight price differences - maybe a dime or two - between the costs of the grocery products I commonly bought. To my surprise, Fred Meyer was MUCH less expensive, sometimes by more than a dollar on something like a package of cookies (same brand and size). What's more, the difference in price wasn't just between FM's price and the other stores' "non-member" prices - Fred Meyer was even cheaper than their "club" prices. I respect the fact that Freddy's isn't trying to gouge the customer by forcing them to sign up for "purchase tracking" cards like the other stores, yet is still able to offer their products at lower prices. Plus, their department store offers SO much more than the grocery-only stores - it's great to get so much shopping done at one spot, even if I have to drive a bit further to get there. read more

I've found prices are cheaper here than QFC and Safeway. And while they don't have as extensive a deli counter as Central, that works to my advantage so I won't drop more money than necessary on fancy meats + cheeses. On occasion, I'll find Sage Derby or a lovely English Stilton with Cranberries! Their prices on items like that are also usually cheaper than Central. Produce is always well stocked. The guys that work in that department have also been friendly and helpful. Their natural/organic section is pretty decent for a mainstream store. They don't just sell groceries though, they also sell housewares, electronics, clothing, jewelry... name it and they probably sell it. I can't vouch for the quality of their clothes. A perfunctory glance tells me that the quality would be comparable to K-Mart or cheaper items found at Target. Checkstands can be busy. In fact, I don't think I've ever gone when they weren't. They have the self-service stands that move pretty quickly provided you don't get stuck behind the one person who's exceeded the suggested limit AND who can't figure out how to ring up produce. It's all photos and touch screens... seriously, not that damned hard. read more

They have a decent selection of just about everything. Seems like the food quality/selection is somewhere between Safeway and Trader Joes. Definitely higher prices than Safeway and probably not as good as Trader Joes. As for clothes I would say, poor selection, poor quality and limited selection. You can find home furnishings, gardening items, and more all of decent quality but maybe a bit over priced for the quality that they sell. Fred Meyer has quickly become my regular grocery store after my god-awful visits to the Safeway on 236th. This Fred Meyer is great! Prices are a lot cheaper than other nearby stores, they have a pretty good selection, and items are well-stocked. They have a large produce section and I do quite like the natural foods section as well. Employees are super friendly and nice. On my last visit, I realized that my gallon of milk was leaking after it had already been rung up. The cashier called to a guy on the floor and had him bring me a new gallon quick as can be. Woohoo! Freddy's!!! My first one-stop-shopping love. I recall the days when they didn't even have alarm systems for their music, VHS, and computer games sections. Even when they installed the magnetic strips, it was way too easy to rip them off and do as you pleased with the merchandise. I'm just saying. I wouldn't really know, of course. This is one of the better Fred Meyer locations I have been to. They have a great variety of kitchen ware, home supplies, groceries and clothing. Plus I enjoy the fact that it is close to home. The produce department is huge and has plenty of delicious fruits and veggies to choose from including some organic. Next to the produce department is the deli which always seems to have some really good deals on their deli meats and cheeses, and they have a nice selection of pasta salads. As far as the rest of the grocery side of the store, they have a great natural foods area with plenty of good items to choose from, the shelves are always stocked and full and they have great prices on most of their products. My wife and I love the variety of kids clothes. We have found many of my daughters outfits here for really cheap and during certain times of the year they have 40-60% off sales on kids clothes. You can pretty much anything you need for your kitchen, living room, bed room, bathroom, etc., with great deals all around. I am not real impressed with the electronics department. The new release movies are usually really expensive to where I can go to Target or Best Buy and get them some ten dollars cheaper. It's a small department with not a lot to choose from. Like one of the other reviewers, some of the employees here do seem to hate their job and do not smile at all, but there are quite a few that are very friendly and have great people skills. read more
