One of the better Fred Meyer locations as it seems to always be stocked well yet you do not need to get around people stocking things during the day. It seems to be kept fairly neat - the bathroom does not need to be locked down which is a plus. I have also noticed it benefits being closer to Portland s you get a lot more of the local stuff that we do not get at the Beaverton one which is technically closer to me. This also seems to have one of the better bakery locations. For mobility, their motorized carts seem to be well maintained and there is always an ample supply fully charged and ready to go without hassle. I also really appreciate a lot of lanes open with great cashiers there to help you if you need it or leave you alone when you are doing ok by yourself. This store seems to have their sales figured out to as some locations I seriously take photos now since checking out of some stores feels like hostage negotiations arguing the prices of everything which is ridiculous and annoying. So I appreciate it when the sales reflect on it. Even better - I read the sign for Clearly Canadian wrong and was missing one to get the discount. He knew! He explained it and I said I wanted to get the third one for the huge discount and without missing a beat he offered to grab me one. I intend on doing my shopping at this location because the ones closer to me are managed horribly and making shopping there a mess. read more

What could this store improve?! How about the management. I spent 27 minutes at "Customer Service" and all I needed to do was exchange the Green Bags I had bought for new ones. The seams ripped completely on every bag of two boxes I'd purchased. Holy hell the manager walked by no less than 10 times and she didn't offer to help the one lady who was CLEARLY swamped. Nor did she call any backup for her. She just smiled and walked by. I mean REALLY?!?! This poor woman was swamped. And fielding a billion things. I had about 10 people in front of me and initially about 5-7 behind me. But those people just gave up and left. Absolutely AWFUL service by this manager. The woman was so flustered and just wanting to move quickly and not upset anyone. But that's also the job of the manager to make sure she has the help she needs. read more

This is the largest Fred Meyers I have visited so far. It is further away from my home, but an easy stop when I am also on my way to the Tigard Costco around the corner. This Fred Meyer's is carries all of your normal grocery store needs but also provides shopping for clothing, jewelry, home goods and design, gardening supplies, electronics and more. Every time I have stopped in, it has been clean and the staff have been friendly. This was not my first trip to this store. I typically will stop in when I want fresh produce, pharmacy OTC items or grocery products in smaller quantities. Last summer this was the only store I could find tomato cages for my garden, so it definitely will remain on my list of stores as a go to market. read more

This is considered a "hypermarket"; one stop shop for grocery, drugstore, banking, clothing, jewelry, home decor, home improvement, garden, electronics, restaurant, shoes, sporting goods, toys, etc. Quality/Quantity - Wow, look at all the choices for the local beers!!!! I like this store. Most employees are pleasant except the lady with blond hair who works late nights at self-checkout. She's not only rude with a sour face but she's belligerent and not the brightest bulb in the lot. When I have problems getting a coupon on the app, she has told me "it's on there" without providing any help. When I have to give her my coupons like tonight, I hand it over to her and she rudely says "I need your cilantro coupon" while she's holding it. She doesn't apologize. Why Fred Meyer continues to employ this rude and miserable person in self-checkout is beyond me. I'd rather not have to deal with her. read more

My favorite Freddy's and I shop at several of them! This store is one of the smallest which is exactly why I love it! When I need groceries, I don't want a Costco like experience. I want to go in, find what I need, get out. At all of the other Fred Meyers, especially SW Barber and downtown, you have to wander all over the store and since the footprint is so large, it takes forever. No running in for milk. Until I discovered the Freddy's on SW Pacific and I'm so happy I did! This store wasn't even on my radar as I'm not in this area ever. But today I had to pick up something at Petsmart and afterwards needed some groceries and my helpful Google assistant took me here. Yes, it's definitely a smaller store so they have less choices. For example, the clothing area was just basics. Same with home decor, seasonal and garden. I'm ok with that. I was here for groceries and there are some items I can only get at Freddy's, like their Kroger brand of ultra pasteurized half and half, which has a long shelf life. Even though it was my first time here, I was able to find everything I needed without searching. There were several reps on the floor and they were helping people. Something that is a challenge to find at other locations. Parking was easy. Access to I-5 is a few feet from the store so heading back downtown was a breeze. Will most definitely be shopping here for my basic items. It will never be my only grocery store as there are certain items I like from Trader's, Basics, Whole Foods and Zuppans. But for my laundry detergent, paper goods, canned goods, frozen veggies, produce and seasonal items, this is where I will shop. read more

He asked me lots of questions including when my Ethernet issues began, how many computers we have, why we currently have 2 routers, how many Ethernet connections we need, why can't we just use WiFi, what ISP we have, and how old our existing routers are. Coming from Atlanta, we know this chain as 'Kroger'. However, Fred Meyer is somewhat of an expanded version of Kroger - complete with clothes, jewelry, etc. It was...odd. We stopped here after dinner on our first night in town as we had seen it outbound from our hotel en route to dinner. We always need to stock up on bottled water when we begin a vacation, plus we needed a bottle o wine for a dinner-visit the following evening. From billboards we had seen, we had surmised that Fred Meyers was owned by Kroger (based on the ads). This proved correct, as I was able to use my shopping card at checkout. This place reminded me of a 'super Walmart' more than a standard Kroger. If I lived nearby, I might be a regular shopper. I have no idea what other local chains (or semi-independent stores) are like, though. This place had the items we needed. It had sufficient parking as well. Other than the size / scope, there was nothing outstanding about it nor were there any major dissatisfiers. read more

I pretty much never make reviews and I shop at this location almost daily. Most staff are nice but the deli dudes...act like their life is ending. The ladies are nice but the men are definitely not. Especially the dark haired one with the glasses. Never says you're welcome or even gives a shit. Yeah man I don't want to work either but damn. Then the other one "speak up" all rude. How bout I'm sorry I didn't hear that? Everyone else in that Fred's is pretty polite but the deli dudes....not so much. The curbside pickup at this "Freddy's" is still top notch in my opinion. I probably order online about every eight days and drive to the store for pickup. The employees working curbside are still awesome and I so appreciate how hard they work ferrying groceries out to everyone's car. Even with a recent strike looming (which has been averted and I supported) there was no change in service or attitude by any worker I had contact with. The $4.95 service fee is being waived during COVID and the online ordering process is very easy to navigate. Masks are still required and the process is still contact free. I only say this because I personally have you worked in customer service for many years and I just know what they have been trained to do and what not to do and they don't give a %#^. Worst customer service experience I've ever had at any grocery store. I come here a lot and rarely use the checkers because the interactions are always odd. Mostly, people who struggle to do math or things/once had someone hit a wrong button and tell me my credit card declined (at which time I called my card company after the fact and they said the checker hit the wrong button based on the error -- admittedly may have been me but they said the transaction just needed to be exited and reopened. .). This time, the checker straight up was picking fights with my disabled mother. My mom is cognitively slow and didn't realize she hadn't put her account number in. She was confused about her item prices and actually as asking the checker said - oh or is it my number. And the checker responded "you don't have a number do you don't get a discount" - dripping with disapproving tone. My mother then said ok I put it in now. I was just asking that question. Checker: no you didn't ask a question. What a weird response. The manager didn't seem to care a whole lot about the bad interaction. I won't be coming back if I can help it. Wonder why they are so rude. The manager said it would be inappropriate to tell me checkers side of the story -- I really just want to know what we did to offend her enough to pick this fight. She actually when my mom said the response about not asking a question was rude . . Roped me into her response and said "both of you are rude and out of line". Um I had barely said a word at this point . . Except that I wanted one bag to put groceries in . . Still not sure how I offended her or even how my mom did. She ended the convo by telling us "I hope both of you have the kind of day you deserve". Fred Meyer needs to really alter expectations but lack of resolution on issues like this tells employees this is normal -- it's not. read more

I came to have a late lunch around 4pm at the deli where there is a small dining area with tables. The tables and chairs were dirty with grease, chunks of mashed potato, and crumbs. Rather than asking an employee to come clean it for me, I decided to ask for some kind of cleaning spray so that I can wipe the tables and chairs myself. Not only did the employees at the deli and sushi counter fail to provide the cleaning spray, he also failed to offer help of any kind. It's a grocery store! How can you not have cleaning solution? The tables remained dirty and I left. Who knows how long they had been dirty. This has happened 3 times and they still haven't figured out how to maintain the cleanliness of their dining area, and provide help to customers. read more

Went to the store today. Everything seemed to be fine for my shopping list. I discovered a woman screaming at another customer. That customer was not returning the same energy. They came over to see if anyone needed help. Made sure I had my phone out to record the situation in case they turned ugly at me for interfering. The woman's friend proceeded to follow me through the parking lot as I was attempting to get back to my car. I went inside and asked the security guard to please help me prevent the woman from following me to my car. He then replied. "Listen pal" you need to leave like I was the one in the wrong for this woman's outburst at some other customer. I think the attitude I received from the security guard who is apparently supposed to be there to help. Was absolutely unprofessional and disgusting. I told him I'm trying to leave and have been trying to leave but this woman is following me around. They seem to feel that I should have minded my own business when I could hear them from the other side of the parking lot screaming at someone. Felt like I was invited. read more

Pretty cookie cutter Freddies and that is NOT a bad thing. Big store, big and busy store that is and they still manage to stay on top of customer service. Shelves are well stocked, floor kept clean and if you need help you can get it without feeling like you are putting someone out of their way. The garden center here is nice as well, probably one of the better ones in the area in terms of the care put in by the staff. Deli is busy - benefit of that is your food is typically pretty fresh and not been sitting around for a while. read more

Shop around and check our product pricing. I was here a couple weeks ago, and needed some paper products. I checked the prices and it seemed really high. I'm glad I didn't spring and buy right there. I found 100 paper plates for I think it was 18-19 dollars. WinCo had almost double that count for the same price, same plate. Now I know thru the years FM had always been pricey, but I feel that was blatant. Due diligence pays off too price check, and especially with inflation. I've literally gone to this store off and on my whole life! I remember when this store had a completely different look. It went through three or four phases where literally everything was changed. It used to have a drive-up for groceries. It had a restaurant (Eve's Buffet) and there was a hardware store called the Home Improvement Store which is now completely gone, the parking lot was expanded when it was torn down. Ummm...for someone that lives in Southern California, this place was amazing. I had no idea that in one store you could essentially combine a target, bed bath and beyond, furniture store, a giant grocery store, and then throw in a jewelry store...but that's what it was! Each isle was more entertaining than the next. I got to stroll through Halloween decorations, and then go to the furniture section and test out couches and lamps. From there I walked through the toy section and picked up a standing version of connect four, played with ping pong balls for 40% off. Next I danced around the art and rugs displays because of the sheer volume of choices. I crossed to the other side of the store and came across what I can only describe as a Costco sided grocery store with 2 isles dedicated to cereal alone. A quarter of the store was dedicated to what I can only compare to a rite aid. And I'd there wasn't enough stuff already, they threw in a full jewelry store...because why not! On my way to the register I then passed by a full clothing section as well. Had the store not been about to close I could have wondered around for hours. Honestly I keep holding out hope that this Fred Meyer will step up their game and each time I am let down. I have been doing a online pick up order each week for over a year now. Initially it was great, they always fulfilled each of the items and if it was out of stock they found adequate substitutions. However the last several months it has been anything but great. I started receiving items that couldn't be fulfilled due to there being no adequate substitutions. But these are just random things that can't be fulfilled, the items they can't fulfill are bread, eggs, Oreos, chicken, apples etc. At first I thought this was no big deal, probably an error. So I parked went into the store found the items myself and checked out. However this has continued to happen week after week. I even have told the person bringing me the food twice now that this has been happening and yet I have seen no change. At this point it has been about 6 months of this happening for random items. Today it was chicken eggs and a spice. So I walked into the store found the exact eggs, found the same chicken just a different brand and the same spice but a different brand. Now honestly this isn't that hard to do so it's not a big deal overall however what's the point of continuing to order my groceries here when they can't even figure it out? I live closer to Safeway anyways so I will be taking my business there. Was really hopefully they could pull it together but that has not proven to be the case! read more

This review is only directed at the Pharmacy. Being new to the area, I let the doctor decide where to send my prescription. An hour after he called it in, I arrived at the Pharmacy to be told it will take 20 minutes. So I shopped for a half an hour. Only to be told it will be another half hour. So I came back 1/2 hour later. I was told it will take another 20 minutes. When I expressed my concern.... I was told it would be best if I came back tomorrow. Now.... I have a family member extremely ill... and they want me to come back another day? I told them no because he really needed meds. Finally after 2 hours of waiting... the prescriptions were filled. I want to complain about the remodel of Tigard Fred Meyers. They moved the Pharmacy and took the back doors out and a person that is handicapped now has to walk from the middle doors, all the way back to the back corner of the store and then has to walk around and wait for the prescription. this is horrible, that is it is so hard to get your prescription. That door next to the pharmacy needs to be opened for easy access for those not feeling well or handicapped. When I went to complain about this to Customer Service they said they have had several complaints about this. I hope they fix this. other than that, I really like Tigard Fredies. This is a pretty typical Fred Meyer, right off Hwy 99 in Tigard. You can get groceries, prepared food, deli meat, sushi, etc. You can also get paint and hardware, clothing, children's toys, automotive items, things for the garden, etc. Fred's has everything under one roof so you can do most of your shopping in one place, and for all that inventory they carry, the prices are still reasonable. You'll get some odd looks in the checkout line buying underwear, spark plugs and beer, but it saves on drive time. They've done a nice job in this store improving the fresh bars, which are stocked with a good selection of salads, olives and pickles, salsas, as well as a pretty good cheese case. No real issues with the store, which is clean inside and well stocked. The parking lot is busy and can be challenging with cars entering from several directions, pedestrians crossing etc. read more

After I tell her I have insurance the intern comes over takes my insurance card and tells me it doesn't work. I literally just got back from a ER and urgent care bro my insurance card works just fine. After some disagreement I said fine and paid full price because I want to go home and not be arguing with some teenager about the legitimacy of my insurance. After all that I get absolutely no explanation of my medication. I asked what should I know? The answer, "don't drink alcohol". Wow great explanation of the medication bud thanks a ton. Purchased a $100 visa gift card as a Christmas gift. Paid my $100 at the register and got a card worth ZERO. My recipient went to use the card discovered it had never been loaded. Went back to customer service 3 times only to be pawned off to the visa card company as the store manager stood by his "nothing we can do" excuse, same thing the visa card company said, "nothing we can do." So in short, I bought a card worth ZERO for $100 and neither the store or the credit card company could see their way to reimburse me. Third time back to the store the store manager finally authorized a Kroger gift card for me. Thank you. I used to like the Tigard Fred Meyers store. I'll never shop there again. This place is a moral dilemma for me. It's all bright shiny clean and makes me smile. This location on 99W is massive. Parking is a nightmare. I only go when I have lots of time. It's never a quick in and out trip. Once I make it inside, it's all good. The floral displays are quite attractive. Every employee I come across is crazy nice and helpful. I'm mean really!!! WOW. This behemoth of a store has EVERYthing you could possibly want. Fresh Food, Clothes, all things for the home, appliances, all electronics. Crazy. I bought a shower squeegee, a roasting pan, multiple ornaments, a reindeer headband, and a box of duraflame logs for $53!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was going to be well over $100. Apparently everything was 10% off. Some things were buy one get one 1/2 off and then there was a $10 off promo. All those discounts required the checker to have a brain and know what discounts and in store coupons to scan at the register. WOW. So what's my dilemma you ask? EVERYTHING WAS made in CHINA!!!!!!!!!!! Barff. I know, I'm a willing participant to the crime. They are providing a great many jobs for local people. This is true. The pharmacists and employees are extremely stressed and downright rude as a result. I cannot refill my prescriptions until they are out, and 3 days worth of being told to wait, come back later, come back tomorrow, etc means I am without my necessary medications. This pharmacy needs to be shut down until they can staff it properly with caring people. Someone is going to end up extremely ill or worse because of the incompetence here.
