This is the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. I practically need to take anxiety meds when it's time to refill a prescription or god forbid fill a new one. The pharmacists and employees are extremely stressed and downright rude as a result. I cannot refill my prescriptions until they are out, and 3 days worth of being told to wait, come back later, come back tomorrow, etc means I am without my necessary medications. This pharmacy needs to be shut down until they can staff it properly with caring people. Someone is going to end up extremely ill or worse because of the incompetence here. I hope it doesn't take a death to get their attention. read more

I've been a loyal FM shopper for decades. The Tigard FM will no longer receive my business, primarily because of their seafood department and deli counter. At the seafood counter, I have never found the service there helpful when asking questions or asking for alternatives to something they don't carry. The attitude of the main weekday guy (body language, facial expression and tone of voice) always seems like he really could care less. As for the deli, I feel like they're trying their best, but so many times I have had to wait a painfully long time just to get one thing... even if there are only one or two people ahead of me. Thankfully, there are better Fred Meyer locations out there. It means a life more drive for me, but Burlingame is great! read more

Selected some items from the store and went to the self checkout line. Forgot my "shopper's card" and asked the nearby checker if they could help scan the "guest" one. The checker who was an older, blonde woman was extremely rude and acted if it was a crime to help scan the card for me. ("I will do it THIS time, but.....") Never was I treated with such disrespect at a Fred Meyer. Later, I spoke with a manager who did agree that they are supposed to help scan the "guest" card, if shoppers forget. Need to be retrained. I went in to buy clothes for my newborn and there were literally zero options for 0-3 month baby clothes for boys or girls. Wow! A "First to Review" for a Fred Meyer! Now my Yelp Life is Complete.... I'm hanging out with my Son this Weekend, and as predicted he wanted to hop in the car and go to Target. What he really wanted was to "look" at Magic Cards and check out the Electronics section for Christmas present ideas. However, as we were both unfamiliar with this sprawling part of suburbia, we ended up at the Fred Meyer instead after failing to find the Red Bulls Eye. The only downside that I found with this Fred's was the traffic pattern getting out and back on the main road. After watching the line slowly move out, I decided to head out the back way and through a residential neighbourhood, which I'm sure the folks living here "really" appreciate. Yet, after heading up a few blocks, I easily found a road that had street light protection. As for this Fred Meyer, it's big, bright, and friendly. The Grocery Store is immense and the Kid's cards could be found at the Customer Service Counter. The Electronics and Toy Sections were decent and now I have a good idea how my Son's Holiday wish list is shaping up. read more

I frequent this Freddies. Mostly for work related shopping. I've had a few negative.experiences but I have way more positive experiences there. alot of the employees are very friendly and know alot about the products they sell. Just as most grocery stores, mon - Friday 4-pm is busy and Saturday nights get busy. They have an Awesome Sushi chef and Also a Starbucks. This location also has an electronics department. They also have a daycare in there. The traffic light at the entrance is junk,only let's a few.cars at a time. after work is worse. I've stopped making Fred Meyer my main destination for groceries. It's frustrating how often they are out of stock on common items. Also frustrating lately has been the quality of produce. FM needs to stop using the word Fresh in their commercials. I can't tell you how many times the packaged tomatoes are already shriveled, and mold has started to form. I haven't been able to buy a decent size potato in months. It's not as convenient but I've started shopping for groceries at Winco. Always in stock and the prices are so much lower than Fred Meyer or Safeway. You have to bag your groceries at Winco, but I already have to do that at Fred Meyer since they changed having the cashier's bag and don't seem to be able to hire people who want to work for them. If I'm tasked with doing that myself at least with Winco the lower prices make me feel better. I liked the shopping experience much better before Kroger bought them out. read more

First time in I easily found the items, or the area for the items if not NA. Plan to shop there regularly while in the area.

My review is based on the extreme service provided by cashier extrordinaire MICHAELA! I came into this location with a specific task of picking out a small bouquet of flowers, but being that I am anal about the presentation of bouquets, I purchased nicer tissue paper with the intention of tossing the boring pre-wrap cellophane and re-packaging. The slection of flowers is standard and fresh. There are two areas in the store with floral stations; the main one is near hardware and a smaller station is near the registers in the grocery annex. At the register, I nicely asked Michaela if I could use the balloon station to reassemble the flowers and use the scissors and the ribbon. It seemed to be the strangest request she had received on this late evening, but she was interested in knowing more about my project. Next thing I know, Michaela transforms into the Oregonian Martha Stewart and executes my vision. She even gave me a more designer cellophane as support for the tissue paper! Granted, there was no line of annoyed customers waiting to check-out behind me, since the hardware annex is more vacant. Michaela went above and beyond and helped me create a beautifully wrapped bouquet. Bouquet of mini magenta roses: $8.99 Hallmark designer tissue paper: $.50 clearance Micheala's customer service: Priceless 67 year-old ballroom dancer that received the bouquet: Speechless p.s. This Fred Meyer is my neighborhood store; I shop there pretty much every week and there are many things I like about the store; one example is the new electric carts that make shopping possible for disabled individuals like me. But I am also very disappointed with one clear objective of the store's recent remodel, and that is to increase staff efficiency by cutting down on checker hours by pressuring customers to do their own check-outs. They've seriously cut back on the number of operating check-out lines with checkers and dramatically increased the self check-out capacity. Since their most recent remodel I have yet to shop when there are more than 2 traditional check-out lanes open. As a result of long lines and wait times customers are pressured to use self check-out machines which can be particularly difficult for disabled shoppers like me. read more

I'm fairly sure this is Oregon's worst Fred Meyer store now that the Burlingame store remodel is finished. This store is in desperate need of ...(what?) a new store. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the foyer is crammed to the brim with "special items," forcing everyone going in or out into a narrow gauntlet to the right or left of the mess. If one person with a shopping cart stops to look at something, nobody behind can easily proceed into the store. Then, there's this awkward, strange layout of the grocery aisles. When I need to buy several different items that are in a common category, such as paper towels and aluminum foil, I almost always have to go to several different aisles to find items that in other stores are always next to each other. This store is nearly always out of everything that's in an ad, and then some. It doesn't matter what time of day I go or which day, the shelves are bare. In sales language, this is known as "leaving a sale on the table." I dread the day a checkout clerk asks me if I was able to find everything that I needed, because the length of the answer would hold up the long, slow checkout line and be terribly inconvenient to the people behind me. What's on your list today? Keep some of your items on your next list, because you won't find them at this Fred Meyer. Getting in and out of the cramped parking lot requires a lot of courage. There's constantly a line of cars in front of the store, stopped to allow pedestrian access to/from the parking area. If you're sitting in your car trying to access Pacific Highway, you need to allocate at least 20 minutes between the traffic jam in the parking lot and the line waiting for the 6-minute light cycle on Pacific Hwy to complete. After living up here for 10 months, I'm finding that I choose to go to either Winco or the newer Burlingame Fred Meyer. read more

This Fred Meyer sold fireworks on the 4th of July. Being that we don't have fireworks for sale in Seattle, this is f ing amazing. The store is a bit cluster f-y in its layout, but then again it was a holiday, so everyone was in there getting bbq fixings. I love fireworks... therefore I love Fred Meyer. read more

This review is for the Tigard Fred Meyer, Electronics Department only. Actually, it's for "Chris" that appears to float thru other departments as well. I need a new computer and with Black Friday coming up, I thought I'd look into tablets. So as I was grocery shopping, I saw they had a few laptops and tablets on display. I guessed I could read the specs without much help but it turned out there are a lot of quirks about the new tablets I did not know about. So at the desk was "Chris" that I thought would at least know the prices of the several tablets on display. Turns out he knows MUCH MUCH more. And my internet connection would only work with a few tablets. He spent quite a bot of time with me and was very informative. To be precise, he saved me from making a $ 300 mistake and then TRY to return it after opening the box... always a hassle with electronics. The prices were about average but I'm pretty sure they'll be going on sale in the next week or so. Best Buy has a reputation of having knowledgeable staff but my guess is they are about be completely overwhelmed. I did NOT buy a new tablet on this day, but will return on Black Friday or the weekend. And I cannot believe I have another "First to Review" at their huge, recently remodeled store. I have to agree with the person who said that you have to look in three different places for a product at Fred Meyer's in Tigard. But the thing that really upsets me most is that they post an ad for a product on sale and when you get there they have very little of the product or are completely out. This week it was Häagen-Dazs ice cream. The first day of the sale when I got there the vanilla was already gone. They also didn't have any of the most common flavors that a person would buy. So what do they do they stock it with flavors like birthday cake and rum raisin which I have nothing against it's just not the most common flavors people want to buy. I wish they wouldn't run the sale if they're not go have the product available. read more

My review is based on the Fred Meyer Pharmacy. I block out about 45 minutes of time to stand in the line to wait for my prescription. I'm amazed at the inefficiency and rudeness of the front line staff. I always seem to be disrupting something they'd rather be doing. One particularly frustrating experience was showing up to pick up my meds at the promised time, and them not being ready for another HOUR. I remarked that it was no longer a "promised time," but rather a "we might have it ready time." I just wish that my medications were cheaper somewhere else! read more

I'm so sick of Fred Meyer in general, but I especially am fed up with the pharmacy. The people who work there are great and have caught errors before which I'm incredibly grateful for, but whatever system they use to manage their prescriptions is terrible. I can't tell you how many times I've showed up to pick up my prescription and it's not ready (even after getting a text that it is ready). And then you have to wait 20 minutes for it to be filled. That's impossible with sick kids, which is usually when I'm there. Sunday I got a text that my auto-fill prescription would be ready the next day. I sent my husband to pick it up 24 hours later and it wasn't ready. So today, after shopping there (which I'm done with as well due to the ridiculous remodel among other things), I went to pharmacy to pick up the prescriptions and they have one prescription (not both) ready and it wasn't filled properly. 30-day supply instead of 90-day supply. I just got off the phone to transfer these to mail order pharmacy through my insurer. And it feels so WONDERFUL! read more

This is for the Fred Meyer Pharmacy Really, again you cant find it. Really, again you offer little to no help. I usually am not this hardened in my reviews but I have had nothing but on going bad experiences with this specific Pharmacy. The location within the store is horrible, no privacy, the staff is not friendly at all and very disorganized. What seems to be a simple task seems to always result in a complete waist of time. The only reason I have continued to use this location is based on the idea of that whole "one stop shop" idea. Well next month when my Viagra runs out (cough I mean allergy meds) I am going to find a new place to fill it. For the record it really is not Viagra I just thought it was funny. read more

I like this Freddy's. I don't go to it as often as to some others - it's not the closest one to my house - but it's the usual large store with the usual selection. There's a traffic light to get in and out of the lot, as is the case with many Freddy's I encounter, but especially crucial here on 99W. That said, I don't love this one. The grocery is in the middle, between clothing/pharmacy/cosmetics/hair care/etc. (one side) and housewares/tools/toys/etc. (other side). So if you are truly trying to do "one stop shopping" for a plethora of items and want to get all the non-groceries before doing groceries and picking up perishable items, you get to walk the full length of the store and then partway back. I'm upset that this location used plastic bags. It's crowded and I see dozens of people toting plastic. I believe that if you do not carry it in your store, then maybe people will be more apt to consider their consumerist ways and bring a bag from home. I suggest using paper if anything at all because at least paper can be readily recycled, plastic waste is a huge problem that persists in our environment and harms wildlife. read more

Brand new and all remodeled last year in this up and coming area of SW. Huge mega store, clean, well stocked, friendly. I would compare it to a WFM deluxe. It pretty much has everything they have in Bridgeport with a few exceptions. This location in SW Portland park/ Metzger Park area is huge. Parking never a problem only during holidays. I go here often. There is never a long line at the register. Busting at the seems with Everything you could possibly want. Fresh Food deli, Clothes, house goods , appliances, electronics. Rock on!! Check on coupons and specials to keep that total at the register in check. I will agree with another local reviewer that they need to offer more local made housewares and clothing. We don't like items made overseas in sweatshop style countries. This is PORTLAND. We live in PORTLAND and like it. Buyers for the store need to stock with local products. I purchased a PJ set on sale and after the first wash it fell apart. Also need the buyer of this store to buy not tested on animal products. One thing that WFM has one up on them is the prepared foods/hot food section deli takeout. Otherwise it is very similar without breaking the bank. read more

The employees remind me of the postal workers, they ignore you, never smile and just plain rude. We used to shop there all the time but one year they had a strike and I wasn't going to cross a picket line. That's when we found Winco a mile down the street. Freds sale prices are Winco's normal price. Why should I pay more for things I use everyday? Giving them a extra star because they sell socks. read more

This is my neighborhood place and I will say it convenient and the people that work here are nice. My problem is with three things at this location: 1. When they redid it it made no sense. There are home goods sections at opposite ends of the store. Want bedding head to the left side, want pots and pans head to the right. Makes no sense who did this. 2. After the transition to 'Chicken Co' or whatever the hot deli is non existent as is service for it. Want help? Good luck with that. Once I sat at the counter and watched one guy prep the rotisserie chicken while two others just talked. Want to make money guys? Maybe man that counter from time to time. 3. They went away from offering things people want like the easy sandwiches and went with Boar's Head everything. I don't know if the company that makes Boar's Head meats has a plan to make an inferior product and charge more for it or if it's just all old at this store. But honestly the cheaper Fred Meyer and generic brands taste better and the sandwiches taste stale. It's mostly this store so I don't know if there is a conscious decision at this store to do what no one likes or what. Generally the other problem is infrequent but at times they will just be out of something they had the previous week. They stock in weird ways too. They may have thousands of something and keep stocking it for unknown reasons. Like last year they had literally over a hundred crock pots everywhere all the time. Yet they were out of bananas. Their staff is absolutely freaking rude aside from the people in the deli who are always decent but even then half the time I go in to get what I want and they don't have it. Rude manager would yell at me in front of customers and tell me to hurry up as well like slave. Even was questioning me if my grandma really passed away when I took leave. Horrible. This isn't the best Freddy's around, but it has been very good to us. It is just down the street and has darn near everything we need. the service, contrary to other reviews, has been quite good. It's just another grocery store, but it has a great selection of inexpensive baby clothes. Any parent of a young child knows that any clothes you buy are bound to last for only a few months, so being able to get it cheap it a definite bonus. The Deli people are also always nice to Jeffy, talking to him and giving him free jojos. read more

This used to be my favorite Fred Meyer by since the "remodel" (frankly it looks like they never finished) it's gone from great to bad to just absolutely horrid now. You took away the clothes and shoes, you took away a needed entrance, you reduced the size of the main entrance making two people going in and out at the same time impossible, you reduced parking spaces, you scattered like products around the store, you reduced available cashier's to at most, 2, forcing us to use self check out if we don't want our frozen food to melt but you have hit the bottom of the barrel now. CHARGING MONEY TO GET CASH BACK FROM YOUR DEBIT CARD IS INSANE. It is so completely anti-customer that I am convinced that you would like to lose all your clients and close this store. Not even 7-11 charges for cash back from a debit card. Get real. This was it for me. Seeing as there is a WinCo, Safeway, Albertsons, New Seasons and Walmart all within a 5 mile distance, this store is dead to me. Congratulations. read more

To start with there is no way to reach any one on the telephone, which is inconvenient to say the least when you use a walker. Second all of the advertised coupons in the Oregonian are digital only. Something that I do not do or understand. It would be nice to be able to use paper coupons to purchase these groceries. Third I purchased Aqua Star Reserve Cocktail Shrimp--22 shrimp/Net Wt. 10oz. Please explain to me why Fred Meyer would stock a seafood item that has an expiration date of 05-05-2021??? We both tasted the shrimp. The shrimp has no flavor. My significant other who has been in the seafood process business in California, Oregon and Alaska believes the shrimp were dipped in chlorine to kill all of the bacteria, preserve the shrimp for 24 months and eliminate the flavor. Needless to say it will be along time before we open the doors at a Fred Meyer Store. read more

You pretty much lost me as a customer with endless needless remodels, eliminating my most favorite entrance/adjacent part of the paring lotridiculous and price hikes - I used to do almost all of my shopping at this location since 2005. It became too confusing and expensive. Also, there's stiff competition from WinCo and Walmart not far away offering same products at much lower prices. I no longer receive any ads in the mail, either - out of sight, out of mind. Safeway is about the same distance away from me and they send me their weekly ads. And it works! Especially, with the Grocery Outlet close by. Customer service went downhill, as well - overly chatty bagger tossed frozen chicken with no regard as to where the package may leak - and it did (I provided m own bags and got no credit for it). Ultimately, I gained nothing from the sale price - just the opposite. I wish I was at WinCo and packed it myself! Otherwise, I ended up with extra clean-up and laundry in exchange for "customer service". No, thanks. Now, I know I need to check my bags if I purchase something in this store.
