I'm new to the area and found this fred meyer near where I work. After shopping, I was in the parking lot using the wifi. My car is still packed with stuff and I was parked right in front of where someone had left quite a bit of trash in bags at the edge of the parking lot. Someone from customer service came out of the store and insisted that I had left the trash there, like I'm going to dump stuff and then sit there right there and use the internet for 20 minutes. I told him to check the parking lot cameras because it sure as hell wasn't me, and he still wouldn't believe me. Guess I'll stick with Walmart. read more

So annoyed with the salad bar at this location. Every time I come during lunch the salad bar is out of lettuce (today only had spinach and arugula), dried out produce and overall a serious lack of maintenance. Every time I ask an employee to restock items it takes 30+ minutes for them to get more product from the store to restock. They always act super inconvenienced too. Who's job is it to maintain the salad bar?? Why have it if you are going to let it go to crap everyday? Don't waste your time fellow yelpers. I have been going to Freddys all my life. Been to almost every store they have in the area. When I heard they were finally putting a store in WV I was happy. I have waited for this long to review it because I wanted to get used to it. Give it a fair chance. The people are nice and provide good service. My gripes have to do with the layout. I was surprised to see a layout like the Beaverton store had for many years. Many shoppers won't go to Beaverton (like me) because the clothing is in the middle of the store and it takes too much time and energy to get around the store. I thought FM knew that. Apparently they didn't care. This store has a very strange layout and a too-small, dangerous parking lot that requires too much walking to get in and out. Not only are the clothes and shoes smack in the middle of the store between the food and nonfood items but the furniture is at the front of the store, creating an obstacle course. The placement of the checkstands is also odd with none being near a door. All of this requires lots of backtracking and extra time and energy. I still go there once in a while to go to the garden section, but I prefer Target or Amazon for miscellaneous items. Come on Freddys - you can do better. read more

Unequivocally the worst shopping and working experience of my life. Food Manajerks Chris Ramos and Kevin are no less than corporate rectal-scrapings. The only time in my life that I've gotten food poisoning occurred at this Fred Meyer due to eating a Boar's Head deli sandwich, "Screaming Eagle". Aptly named as it made me barf for two days. On the employment side, they let you work before you're technically *hired*, thereby giving undue, and cruel, false-hope. I was worked, without being hired, and then "not hired" for no demonstrable reason. I did my job, and well, for about 5 days before dismissal. Having received the same GIS report that they recieve, I passed both the drug screen and background check. They provided no reason for not hiring. This used to be a Portland Proud business, created by Fred G. Meyer in 1922 with the first store on 5th Street in PDX. NOW THEY ARE OWNED BY THE EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE AND OHIO BASED KROGER CORP. I was prohibited from buying a plastic airsoft gun because the plastic covering on my drivers license was worn. That same license that's good enough for the police and airport wasn't good enough for Fred Meyers employees. This one star is not for the fred Meyer itself but for the cashier I had, Anaid. I get that sundays are super busy as everyone in the world comes to get groceries on sundays. She didn't say hello or a smile or anything, which at first I just looked past as I don't really come to fred Meyers for the service... but then when I was about finished my boyfriend points out that I was charged twice for one of my items. I told her this and she just looked at me saying that she cannot cancel my transaction at this point, prints my receipt and hands it to me. I looked at her confused and she told me that she cannot refund my money at this point and I would need to go to customer service. So I go over and wait at customer service and have a couple come up to me to tell me that my eggs were still at the check stand... needles to say, if I see her again I won't be In that line and I hope that other customers don't have the same lame experience I had. read more

I am only going to talk about the wi-fi here because the store is pretty standard. I like the store and we know most of the employees here. They work hard. But.. But.. the wi-fi sucks!!! It fluctuates between 4mbps-6kbps. If you don't know what that is, it is pretty darn slow. I have no idea why a department store or shop with wi-fi would have such slow service. That is not the only problem. The service is operated by a third party vendor called Wandering Wi-fi. The service has several problems. From my experience, mostly for Mac users. Dropped connection and impossible log in's. If you need to use the internet, I would encourage you to not go here. read more

They work so hard to find the best solution for prescriptions and uncover the best cost. They worked as a team this past year for my son and helped save me literally thousands of dollars. That is so nice in this day and age where customer service is so lacking. The grocery section frustrates the *@!!*# out of me. The organization is abominable. I always end up having to give up finding at least one thing, and having to ask an employee where it it. Fortunately, I've never yet found an employee that didn't know *exactly* where to find things. Just a few examples of the dis-organization: Juices in four different locations, and the one you want will be in only one of them. "Ethnic" foods: Hispanic foods all on the aisle with pastas, Jewish, Chinese, Thai, and others are on the baking aisle. The baking aisle has canned cherries, but the cherry pie filling is on another aisle. I'm sure the intention was to make people stay in the store longer, and find other things to buy while they're looking for what they want to buy, but it just aggravates me, and makes me wish I'd stopped somewhere that makes shopping convenient. read more

Trying to get a wedding cake at this location was the a horrible experience. I have never been treated so rudely and as if my business was not wanted. The staff went as far as to talk about me while I was waiting at the counter. Needless to say. After 3 trips and multiple calls to try and meet with the one and ONLY cake decorator on staff, I was dismissed. I would never trust this branch with anything special. Can't stand shopping here anymore with all the security gaurds it gives me an uneasing feeling like they are having many troubles. Not only do I feel obligated to say 'hello' and 'goodbye' so they don't think i'm a bad customer but they are constantly staring at every move make like in the produce section. They are even by the deli and accommodates area. I like a level of privacy when I shop, or a security cam. should be enough. It feels like being in prison. I much rather shop at a grocery store who are not paranoid it's more relaxing. I've even seen them look at girls butts and too gung ho when the metal detector goes off for others. I'll only shop here when I have to. They have also locked the other end of the stores doors (paranoid?) after 8:00p and witnessed bunches of irate customers have to hike it. Some of them people who can't walk well. It's not just happening at this Fred Meyer it's others as well. What's going on Fred Meyer why are we all under such suspicion? I called a week in advance to have my prescription ready. I needed it ready by Sunday, simple enough task for a Fred Meyer Pharmacy. Come Sunday, these people needed to be reminded of my prescription and told me they'd have it ready for me tomorrow, which in turn ruined my entire dosage schedule and placed me as a patient at risk. So a quick word on the 4 stars: rating this in comparison to what I expect from a large chain grocer. When I go to a Fred Meyer I don't exactly expect the red carpet rolled out. The tl;dr version of this: if your two options in Wilsonville are Safeway and Fred Meyer, go to FM for quality and price. Pros: - Prices. Wilsonville (to my knowledge) pretty much only has 2 grocery stores: Safeway and Fred Meyer. Freddy's is cheaper by a dollar on most of the items I buy (even when using Safeway club card) - Pretty good produce and meat quality. Not the best at a supermarket, but between the two local chain options in Wilsonville, definitely better than Safeway in variety, quantity and quality. - The place is pretty clean. Often there are clothes racks clogging aisles when going between grocery and home goods, but that seems to be happening a bit less over the last month or so. - Cashiers (in my experience) have been friendly but not in the stalker/creepy way where they want to know everything about you or share everything about themselves. But maybe I've finally mastered the "no offense, but I just want to get my stuff and get out" look, so results may vary on that - Organics/natural selection. To be clear, you aren't going to be getting farm to table type stuff or even Whole Foods level of gluten free, organic, free range, meat free, non-gmo certified craziness. But for the average household like mine where we eat organic and all natural when super convenient, this place has a pretty good variety. Especially when compared to Safeway which is closer to me. Cons: - After 8p they close the second entrance near electronics for security reasons. Which I guess I get for both shoplifting and guest security reasons. But I liked having wide open parking and less congestion at entrances/exits. It has actually made my trips there less frequent so in my single use case its actually hurt their bottom line just slightly since I buy less there now. - They seem to (at least my first 6-8 months shopping there) run out of items. I believe this has changed a bit recently, so either it was not having staff available to re-stock which has been fixed or logistics which have been fixed. Or I've been lucky. - It's a FM. So...its owned by an outside-the-state grocery chain (Kroger), pay is probably not great leading to the lower costs mentioned above, etc etc. That's not to minimize that issue. If I were a better human, I'd shop at a more local setting. Which is why I'll be going to the farmer's market more in the summer and looking to expand my drive for local farmer-owned stores in the Sherwood/Wilsonville area. But for now, yay lower prices and grocery/big box stores! read more

This Fred Meyer has EXCELLENT honey crisp apples and they're such a steal! Each bite provides the perfect crunch to juice ratio which is hard to find. I went to Safeway shortly after (only because it was closer), and was immensely disappointed because the honey crips were double the price and not nearly as juicy. I am not a fan of Fred Meyer but I like this store. The employees are all very nice (especially Jakob) and go out of their way to make me feel like a valued customer. I like the produce and the grocery selection is pretty good. I also like the fact I can get almost anything there. I like the clothes and the shoes too. I shop there at least once a week because they're not as expensive as the two other grocery store alternatives in Wilsonville and have a much better selection in all departments. One thing I don't like about all Fred Meyer stores is the atmosphere.
