I wish I had read all the reviews before I went to this clinic. I saw Dr. Yang several months ago…read more She suggested an injection as a possible remedy for my issue and informed me the cost was $60. I agreed to this. What she didn't tell me was the cost of the medication was $10 and the remaining $50 was her administration fee. I discovered this when I submitted it to my insurer and got very little reimbursement. I naively thought administering injections was part of her normal services just as it is for my family doctor. I felt there was a real lack of full disclosure on her part. Not impressed! Weeks later I dealt with the nurse coordinator to arrange referral to the plastic surgeon. She requested I email a picture of the skin lesion and she would make the necessary arrangements. She lost the picture somehow and never did anything further including informing me of this. I re-sent the picture again and waited. Well, weeks later - no phone call, no email, nothing! I never heard from her again so I moved on... My experience with this clinic - I would say unprofessional and a poorly run outfit. I suspect they make big coin from doing all their cosmetic procedures so they don't really care about patient referrals from Family Docs. I ended up going to the Cardiff Medical Skin Centre in Oakville and had a much better experience.

Apparently booking an appointment here is optional--answering calls certainly is…read more I'm an existing patient and have spent over a week calling, emailing, and leaving voicemails. Not a single response. Complete silence. The doctors are fine, but the front desk is a mess. Unanswered calls, ignored emails, ignored voicemails. A few receptionists manage to make the entire clinic look bad. If basic communication matters to you, don't expect it here.

It's been over 1.5 months now and I still haven't heard back from them. I called, left voice messages, and sent emails, but no response at all.

I've unfortunately had multiple negative experiences with the front staff at this office. My…read moredoctor referred me here for two issues. They initially let one of my referrals time-out without notifying me or my doctor until I followed up with them after an abnormally long wait without having heard anything. They told me at that time that I was no longer in line to wait for an appointment and would need to start from scratch. So for that issue I've just had to go without healthcare attention for quite a long time because of the office's mistake. They were not courteous or apologetic about the problem on the phone. Separate to that, I did get an appointment with another of their doctors under another referral (this doctor didn't treat the first issue which is why there were separate referrals); and at that appointment while checking in the desk staff were rude and short with me and I also overheard them gossiping negatively about patients while I was sitting waiting for my appointment. Incredibly unprofessional behaviour overall that has left me with a negative impression of the service at the office. It's a shame because even though the doctor seemed to be really good, the interactions I've had with the staff are bad enough that I'll still have to seek out alternative care options.

Dr. Barankin doesn't have any knowledge of the human anatomy, and does not take any responsibility for the procedures, you do it at your own risk, he told me so after seeing the result of his work! I had to hide from people for 5 weeks, and now have a permanent skin damage on my face. I highly recommend to NEVER use services of Dr. Barankin at the Toronto Dermatology Centre! "

When I tried to book a follow up corrective appointment, his staff kept cancelling my appointments last minute and eventually claimed he's not seeing patients anymore. Aside from indicating that I'm displeased with the results, I had shown no signs of difficulty or hostility. It couldn't believe that he's actually not seeing patients anymore, especially given the multiple same day cancellations prior. So I tried booking an appointment from a different phone and name and to no surprise, they did book. In my disbelief, to this day I have not seen a more unprofessional, money driven practitioner. I had to write a letter, informing that I will be forced to contact the regulatory bodies if they refuse to see me for a follow up appointment. Instantly I got the appointment. Even though he tried to dissolve the filler, there's still some lumps of filler left, and a bigger dent and some saggy skin where the filler used to be. Over all, I really wish that our paths had never crossed and I wish that this website did a better job giving a true indication of physicians ratings to protect the public.
