I finally made it here after following them on IG and seeing their great reviews here. It was soooo good! I ordered the smorgasbord and the crunch was perfect, it was all really flavorful, and the fries amd mac salad are amazing. We also got the burger basket, it was equally as flavorful and the bun was so soft. So much food, at such a great price, and nowhere else is the Rogue Valley will you find fried chicken like this. So I had driven by here several times and never stopped. But there's not a ton of solid options in the valley when it comes to chicken and seafood. Well, folks, I finally stopped at Freddie Lee's Seafood and Smorgasbord! I'm so glad I did. I met Freddie Dunbar and I asked him what everyone loves, so he made me shrimp! I got the five piece, and it came with a pile of amazingly seasoned fries and some homemade Cole slaw. He also gave me some hot sauce (it's like he knew me!) and his homemade dipping sauce. Oh man, all of it was so delicious! While nothing NEEDED to be dipped, the sauce was too good not to be used. I saw a fish sandwich on his page and it looks MOUTH WATERING. And you best believe I'm coming back to try that chicken. (As you can see I've been back for the chicken) Here's another experience of mine at Freddie's- Oh man. Freddie has spoiled me! I'll never eat at KFC again. You could seriously sell the skin off this chicken for loads of money! The flavor is amazing! The chicken was so tender and juicy, I didn't even use sauce! The coleslaw always hits the spot, but there's something about the mac salad that has me hooked. It's almost like he mixes the cooked egg yolks in. So delicious! Yeah, all these folks with the 5 Stars are not lying. This ain't no big conspiracy. Freddie Lees is the place to be... I saw this pop up on yelp or google maps one day and have been craving fish n chips since the COVID. Name sounds promising, got shrimp too, let's go have a look. Pull up and met the cooker dude, not Freddie, and he was way helpful and friendly. Told me about their secret weapon seafood chowder. So good folks bring crock pots to fill. Offers me a taster whilst my fish n shrimp is cooking.....I damn near saw the lord y'all. This is so packed with shrimp, clams fish and Crab (ya I said it) that there's barely soup. Fresh, creamy and seasoned just right. Haven't even had the food I paid for and already I'm planning a return. The chowder gets ya lol... Get back and tear open the bag, only to find beautiful crisp beer batter filets, big fresh chunks, none of this compressed brick fish and awesome battered fries, everything just vibrant, crunchy and salty like you want at a joint like this. The shrimp were actually my favorite, very crunchy, flavorful and not rubbery. These cats know what they're doing fer sure. I've been back since this and added the fish sandwich which is insane and huge for 5 dollars. Had a large chowder and it was divine. Omg this food is so so good. The fish sandwich, the macaroni salad, the crispy fries. Not to mention the customer service is on point! Cannot wait to get this fish sandwich again. I really appreciated that I called when I was on the way to work, he took my order over the phone since it was about ten minutes before he closed, and my food was hot, fresh and ready when I arrived 8 minutes later. The fried chicken is crazy good, from the seasonings to the crunch on it, to the tender juicy meat underneath the crispy exterior. Wow. Stopped in today for lunch and it's pretty amazing food! You gotta try it!! Had the fish basket today, trying the fish sandwich this week. I love how the coleslaw is at the bottom of the basket as a bed for the fish to sit on Fish is firm and not greasy like other places. The food is really good and the price is right. I went there today for the first time and got the fish&fries and all I can say is wow I can't believe I have gone to the coast and haven't had anything this amazing The fish was perfectly seasoned,the fries crispy and the coleslaw was tangy. I'd been driving for what seemed days. Hunger ripping through my microbiome like supercross heroes and my guts the dirt. My sons been sleeping in the passenger seat, for longer than I remember him not having been listening to my long ranty hypothesis on how chickens/ducks could potentially revolve back into dinosaurs if the atmospheric pressure changed to allow the redistribution and altered concentrations of the earths gases and such... I was talking to myself it seems but since my gut was talking to me louder than my backwood assumptions of the mechanics of the universe.... I thought I'd pull over and grab a bite. But where? Sonic? No, sugar coma and discount slurry meat not my thing today.. Burger King? Nope sames. Gas station grease kiosk? Better.. But wait!!!! What is this gleaming Red hot beacon of curiosity that lay before my weary eyes? On the side of a road leading to nowhere it seemed.. I saw a vision of hope. I immediately hit the blinker and split the roadside dust sea with purposed vision. Parked and pointed my flesh machine toward this gloriously crisp clean food station. On my approach I make 2 important notes to self.. 1- this truck is straight up a meat lovers paradise... and I am sorta vegan... well I'm not like a "Karen" kinda vegan.. I'm like a "prefer plant based proteins" kinda guy. I don't really eat salads as my understanding of elementary microbiology restricts my appetite from craving too many items that house biofilms of unknown habitants.. As well, I try and avoid what I call "discount industrial meats" as they also can be full of "unknown biofilms". Ehem... anyway history lesson aside now onto the math.. 2: the second thing I noticed was that this kickass foodship was being captained by a Marine veteran. This totally washed out all my potential fears of bacterial transference in a meat truck.. hypochondria being what it is, truth is, if you are not a careful and virtuous person then I'm afraid handling meat products for consumption can lead to great problems. But... He isn't a rookie at virtue. He is a tested and found worthy hero. So if someone would cross the ocean to defend my freedoms of luxury, with their life... WITH THIER LIFE! Then.. I think that they would not come back to the state's to food poison me by mishandling food prep.. So all that to say, I proceed to order a family size French fry and mention that I am a veggie guy.. He was so kind and responsive to my need here that he went out of his way to make me a special treat that matched my hunger. That was a first for me. A really amazing feeling first. So I would say to him: "fucking thank you for being kind" And to all y'all I would say: The French fries were the greatest fry I have ever had. I love fries. They have been my go to on the go my whole damn veggie life. I am judgemental about fries. Very. I often spend time hobby scouting the best fries in my reach. These win. Done. Huge load of delicious, perfectly, no perfectly prepared potato crisps. Serious bravo. I won't even try to describe flavors here because you need to put them in your mouth and know them biblically as I have. Do it as soon as you can. Life seems better the morning after those fries. Just saying. Now their vegan throw together gift was this: Avocado halved with little filler/topping salad. Sort of a tart affair with hints of horseradish but that could also be because my palette was still wet of the uniquely mysterious fry sauce. What is funny to me is that this foody space captain made me as a gift, the very or very close at least, meal that I had just days prior prepared my lovely daughter when she came for a visit. Just to say that, this mobile meat alchemist didn't just eye roll my vegetarian choices but on the contrary... He put as much care and compassion into his gift to me, As much as I had just given to my own precious flesh and blood. Well played good sir, well played. read more

Not gonna lie- best clam chowder i've ever had. Best coleslaw and mac salad i've ever had and BEST fried chicken i've ever had. The fried chicken was crispy and crunchy but juicy and tender inside, the seasoning in the breeding/on top made the chicken and the hot sauce packets are perfect because i wanted some without and enjoyed it with as well. After reading some good reviews for Freddie Lee's and seeing people raving about the fried chicken, I knew we had to check this place out. Holy cow! Why haven't I heard of this place before? Freddie's bright red truck and Hummer are easy to find right in front of the Chevron at 1510 Pine St in Central Point. Freddie's fried chicken is heavenly - crispy, crunchy on the outside and super moist and flavorful on the inside. He knows what he's doing because the chicken is seasoned well, not greasy at all, and fried to perfection. The fries were slightly crispy on the outside and tender as can be inside, exactly the way fries are supposed to be. The accompanying fry sauce is to die for. I'm not sure what goes into Freddie's recipe, but it rocks! The coleslaw has a sweet dressing that has a kick of horseradish. I'd never have thought of making a dressing like that, but it truly partners well with the fried entrees. Hubby got the fried shrimp. I know he loved it because I kept hearing "mmm, mmmm" coming from his side of the table. The portions are good size and priced very fairly. Our meals came with a variety of sauces and malt vinegar and utensils, everything we needed to enjoy our dinner. I found out that Freddie is testing out the response to his own version of seafood chowder, which is already drawing rave reviews. Freddie is friendly, easy to talk to and it's plain to see this man enjoys what he does and knows how to provide excellent customer service.
