Tried to have dinner here on a Wednesday evening 5:30pm showed up and there was no air conditioning on. A huge sign that said no free chips or salsa $5 extra. No one was in the restaurant at all. A woman was standing by the bar didn't even come to greet us. What a sh$t show. We turned around and left. Disgusting ambience. 102 degrees outside and NO Air conditioning. Bogus reviews. This out of the way place is definitely worth the find. I ordered the blackberry margarita and it was delicious. My sisters ordered peach and raspberry, respectively. Those were tasty as well. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered a one item combo plate with a shredded beef chimichanga. It was a lot of food and very tasty. I also enjoyed that with the chips and salsa they provide, they also include bean dip. I really can't say enough about how much I enjoyed the food, the people and the ambiance of this restaurant. We decided to go to Puerto Vallarta on a Monday evening and try a different dish. We wanted to get the fajitas for 2. We got Cadillac margaritas that were amazing! On the rocks and quite a nice pour!! The fajitas were excellent. I got plenty of food for both of us and it saves money to get them for 2. The salsa is really good. I would order the steak fajitas again. Guacamole is excellent. The whole restaurant vibe is casual and comfortable. The staff is super nice as well. They also have whole bean choices- black bean and whole pinto beans - if you dont want refried. The place is tucked way in the back of a small strip mall- turn on Owen drive to get to it off crater lake. Its a new place thats really taking pride in their quality of food. read more

Ordered to go, the experience was 5 star from the start, clerk was super friendly, picked up the food in 15 minutes, arrived home, hot and tasty. The salsa is home made with just the right spice. My husband had a chicken chimichanga that was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside, I ordered cheese and onion enchiladas with rice and beans. This is the first Mexican restaurant that reminds me of Real California Mexican food, the rice and beans were spot on! This is a hidden gem and I will return. The waitress offered some extra salsa that the cook made that was "extra spicy" and it was delicious! The flavor was good on the shredded beef. This place is great! After moving here from LA, we've been having a very, VERY hard time finding good Mexican food specifically. We have had some truly nasty experiences at some of the more popular restaurants in the area and were beginning to lose hope, so finding this place was a relief! Between our whole party, we had several varieties of burritos, enchiladas, tacos, and taquitos. Delicious across the board. They even customized the street tacos for my boyfriend (only beef was on the menu and he wanted chicken). They weren't the exact type of street tacos we're used to, but it's the closest we've found so far and they were super tasty. Our server was also incredibly sweet and helpful. The food was fantastic and the service even more so (I never give 5 stars but the service topped it). The prices are VERY reasonable. The special of the day was street tacos. I chose carnitas. Talk about mouthwatering and extremely tasty! Lots of meat, onion, and cilantro. Just perfect. The rice was light and fluffy with just the right amount of flavor. We started visiting I believe on their 3rd day open and the food has been consistently good and fresh. The owner is super nice and friendly every time we're there which is like once a week. Wow, the owner and his daughter both welcomed us with the best customer service. They reminded us what great customer service actually is. Both had super genuine smiles, made friendly eye contact, took care of us by seating us instantly. The service throughout made us feel like they were hosting us at their own home. I have always had in my mind my most favorite ground beef hardshell taco from my childhood and this surpassed it. The Chile Relleno was perfect. My boyfriend had the Pollo a la Crema and an appetizer of the chorizo queso. OMG, so good. The salsa is the blended restaurant style salsa and it was perfect. The restaurant is located in a small retail strip center in an area that you would drive by without even noticing. Please search this place out. It's actually really easy to get to, they just don't have big signage to see it from the street. It's right off of the 62 and Crater Lake between Owen and Coker Butte. We were blown away by this place, the staff, the food, the experience. This local family totally deserves all of our business when you went delicious Mexican food and great service. After seeing their signs, I wanted to support a family Mexican restaurant on the Northside, because there are not a lot. We went on an afternoon; not crowded. Very friendly and clean. Chips and bean dip were offered. We ordered enchiladas verde and fajitas. We could hear the food being prepared as we ordered it, so that was a good sign. I don't know though...the food just didn't have that feeling 'love' and 'homemade'. The meats were dry and the flavors were bland. A lovely fresh, homemade salsa was offered and it was good. The service was very friendly, and we were given complimentary 'shots' of Cuervo and seven up. If they can bring the quality of the food up and have it fresher tasting I'd be a bigger fan.
