The burger itself was made from quality ingredients: soft bun, melty cheese, thin patties, with crisp fresh lettuce/veggies on the bottom. The fries had a strong showing too, with their strength being consistency. Each fry was golden, crisp, and looking like it was straight out of a commercial. There wasn't a soggy, limp, or discolored straggler in the bunch. Just look at the photo I posted! The ambience was a fun, old-timey diner, which felt just right. This is the best spot to get a good cheeseburger! The patties are the right thickness, not too thick and not too thin, the veggies and the bun were fresh too. Found this place randomly while searching for an affordable, fast lunch in Medford on our day road trip. This place was just what we were looking for and a little step back in time when burgers, fries and shakes ruled. What made me happy is they also had grilled cheese and chili dogs (sometimes you just crave it). Our group ordered 3 types of burgers, a chili dog and 'bag o fries" and all were excellent. Had lunch here today, Sunday 1:00 PM. There were two customers when I walked in. The dining area was nice and clean. Ordered the Jalapeno & Pepper Jack Burger ($8.99), large fries ($3.99), and a 16 oz. chocolate shake ($6.49); total $19.47. Oh, PLUS Card Transaction Fee ($0.41). Everything was 'good', but nothing really stood out. The burger was good, think about a McD Quarter Pounder (the bun was just a basic bun), the large fries were good, not a big order but okay, and the shake was okay. Service was below so-so. The girl who took my order never smiled. The girl who brought my food was pleasant, but that's it. Nobody came back to make sure my order was good (what do they think the tip is for?). I did have to move to another table as there was a wasp at the window (they knew about it and should have gotten rid of it before a customer was inconvenienced (but not terribly). Unfortunately, I had to endure the two girls in the kitchen constantly complaining about their paycheck or pay or life expenses. And it's not that they talked softly, they were both boisterous. At another table, a customer asked one of the girls what mountain was that 'over there'. She said she had no idea, had only been in town for a year, and didn't pay any attention to things like that. She should have asked the lady in the back what mountain it was. Hopefully, those people didn't tip on the tip-before-pay screen, because that is what the tip is for. Also, I am not a fan of the tip-before-pay screen. For me, it starts the experience on a negative, customers have to decide what amount and it puts pressure to tip instead of skip. So, if I tipped, would I have gotten better service... No. And not a fan of paying the owner's credit card fees either. So, would I go back? No. Average food, below average service (experience). We rode on the bike trail from Ashland. A nice ride mostly downhill but still I was ready for a snack. The YS wanted to push forward but alas I won out as I pointed to the burger place in the distance. Let's go over there. A cute little place that appears to be a mom and pop run organization. I would not have known about this Mom & Pop burger joint had it not been conveniently located across the street within walking distance to our motel The Knights Inn. On my first visit I ordered the bacon cheddar burger w/ a large fry, all burgers are served with Mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle unless otherwise requested. Mmmm yummy, this was truly a treat! The fries were ok, I told myself next time I will order the onion rings to accompany my choice of burger. They offer complimentary ranch and or their secret fry sauce with all orders, mmmm yum yum yum. Next visit I ordered the Avocado Jack burger, onion rings and old fashioned homemade fresh banana shake. Wowzers, once again they were generous with the burger toppings, plenty of avocado and jack cheese! The onion rings are the best I have had in a very long time! Then there is the Amazing fresh banana shake I had, wow fresh bits of banana, I literally had an orgasm in my mouth with every sip and suck. This was truly a treat, it can add up with the ala carte menu style however well worth it for fresh and delicious! Avocado Jack burger, $5.85, onion rings $3.55, 16 oz fresh homemade banana shake $3.00. Fresh hand pressed burgers in which the meat is 100% all beef from Cherry street meats. They have burgers, chicken burgers, corn dogs, homemade chili, hot dogs, and a couple of sandwich options. I highly suggest everyone try one of their homemade shakes, cherry, razzleberry, blackberry, peanut butter, butterscotch, coffee, peach, fresh banana, peppermint, root beer, caramel, pineapple. I truly enjoyed the fresh banana oh my word! Service is great, small family owned joint with a few tables to eat inside or take out. To clarify any confusion I guess they used to be called Eddy's burgers, they are now Barney's Better Burgers. Passed this place dozens of times and I finally got a chance to try it. The first thing I noticed was that the place was dirty. Their are splash marks of soda on almost all the furniture and the ground was dirty as if they had a huge rush or just aren't consistent in doing the floors. I got a Swiss Avocado bacon burger. I was impressed that the quality of the burger was good. For $10 including a larg side of fries was worth it. I would come back to this place but for carry out only.
